Hate to say it, but druid is probably going to be around for awhile. Again. Skulking Geist just isn't good enough to counter them.
But Jade druid will likely be gone from standard after the first expansion next year. Jade idol, jade blossom, jade behemoth, jade spirit, and Aya head out of standard to wild. Not sure if I would recommend newer f2p players to craft a lot of it if they have holes in classic and recent expansions.
To be fair, many staple cards from WOTOG, Karazhan and MSOG will be gone by then and the meta will look radically different than how it looks like now.
I have already dropped $80+ (particularly for ONIK, MSOG and Classic); I pondered buying the presale of Un'Goro and KFT but 50 bucks now means 2 decent games in Steam; at $1 per pack (in presale), Hearthstone now seems more expensive than when I started
At the moment it is druid without any doubt. While I am keep saying "wait until the meta settles before crafting" I can't see druid falling out of favour soon. I think there are a few tier1-2 decks which haven't been explored yet/which need a future meta to be really good (maybe warrior or mage) but druid will stay a top deck for sure. I think the only way you regret crafting druid cards (if you like playing druid) is if they nerf some essential cards for this class otherwise this is probably the safest class to craft cards from atm.

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?

Yes, and it all depends on your collection if investing in these cards is worth it as a f2p player. My whole point is is it worth it to invest in cards with a very limited time to play them in standard? If you have been playing a long time and dont have many cards missing in classic, and/or will be playing a lot of wild, sure craft them. If on the other hand you are a newer f2p player and have holes in classic and newer expansions investing dust in lots of jade idol cards may not make a lot of sense. In that case I would invest in any cards from Classic, which will always be playable or newer expansions with more time to play them. It comes down to a choice of gratification now, that may hurt you in the long run, or slowly building and having possibly stronger decks, and more cards to play for much longer time in the long run.

You are right: it is more worth it to finish the Classic collection than to invest a lot of dust in temporary stuff (more so as an f2p player).

I have the slight fear that they will, in fact, nerf Jade Idol (which I believe is a bad ieda but that is stuff for another thread) and render the Druid cards less valuable (despite their flexibility).
I dont think they will do more to nerf jade druid. They added skulking geist and it will be heading out of rotation next year. Let me say that druid has another strong deck, the new taunt druid. I am a budget player, not strictly f2p, but I only order the pre order and then use only gold. I am having a bast with taunt druid. I dont have the DK or fandral but I did get a Lich king in packs so I put him in and a druid of the claw. I recently took out the druid of the claw and put in saronite chain gang. Im winning more than losing. I know that in the original post you mentioned needing ultimate infestation. Try the deck before even making those and perhaps put in another living mana, swipe, or a druid buff card. That way you can see if its worth it to craft anything, and if it fits your play style. While Fandral may make the deck super strong, I seriously doubt I will be crafting it, it heads to wild next year as well. Here is a link to a video of the deck with a deck import code.
I have a radical suggestion..................
Drop $20 on the game since you enjoy playing it.
Golden Hogger. Most OP card of them all.

Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
