Control wouldnt play that. So must be for Aggro Druid. 1/5 you cant kill turn 2. With buffs 2/6, 3/7 (I strongly hope it won't transform to a Beast) ain't a problem to get to as an aggro Drood.
And decent if you're able to play it with Fandral, although that won't be very consistent. There needs to be at least one other means to activate both Choose Ones for Druid, like a 3-mana Spell: "The next Choose One card you play has both effects activated."
I feel like you can just put this in almost any Druid deck. It's good in Aggro because you can pick Taunt and buff it. It's good in Ramp because you can also pick Taunt against aggro but it's also a form of removal. This card just seems crazy good.
Usually I don't care about these things, but now I feel that I must point out what was mentioned on this site so many times: "strictly better" has its own meaning and is not equivalent to "better". So strictly speaking (hehe!) Druid of the Saber is not "strictly better" than Jungle Panther. This is not an opinion, but a fact due to the meaning of the term "strictly better".

If it gets pulled from your deck or is Summoned any other way than played from your hand it is just a vanilla 1/2. Nerf for Evolve I guess. Buff for Devolve.
The art work and personality are great though.
The problem with Druid of the Swarm is its health in an aggro druid. You play this turn 2. Turn 3 Fledling or 1/2 pirate with 1/1 Patches and buff all of them which is 17 stats on turn 3. How do you plan to remove a 2/6 taunt with no drawback to get to what is behind the taunt. That is with a high hope the Swarm minion doesn't have a Beast tag because it reads the same like Druid of the Claw. Mark of Y'Shaarj would buff it to a 10 stats minion with taunt and draw one card.
Or Turn 1 Innervate Fledgling, Turn 2 Druid of the Swarm as taunt. Fledgling could snowball out of reach (too much health, untargetable, windfury, we have seen it) but Swarm will shield it from 90% you can throw on an early board.
From the cards in the new set I have seen I can imagine taunt and buffs will be an addition to aggro druid. Druid has the tools to make use of the superiour stats and draw the nuts in the early game. The same goes for that 5 mana card summoning 1/5 taunts per enemy minion. These have 1.5x of the stats from Living Mana tokens. Sure, it is arguable whether 2/2 or 1/5 minions are more aggressive. But you get to a point where other classes simply won't match such an onslaught.

@MightyGorgon: you are correct..and quick!
I intended to say Bloodfen Raptor not Jungle Panther, and you got your reply in before my edited post was processed.
it would be a 1/5 poisonous taunt, Fandral does not combine stats, only takes the benefits of both, see Druid of the Claw (4/6 Charge Taunt), Flame (5/5), Saber (3/2 Charge Stealth).
With Stubborn Gastropod we almost got a poisonous minion that worked. The only problem was that it was too situational. Given the ability to play him or a super Silverback Patriarch you've got so much flexibility it hurts.

Anyway...thanks for the clarification.
Druid of the Saber is also strictly better than Twisted Worgen, which i remember now is actually what I meant to say orignally. Yes, I'm still thinking about this. I have a lot of dark thoughts and I need some distraction. Hearthstone is good for that.

It should be 1/5 Taunt with Poisonous, since Fandrall & Druid of the Claw won't give you a 8/10 charge and taunt www
Seems like druid will be good against aggro and control decks while midrange will be his bane.
Excellent 2-drop for a Druid that doesn't ramp, which is cool. Hoping it won't see Token Druid play, but it probably will :/
Become Maexxna with taunt
we now have 5 Druid of the X rangers
Druid of the Claw
Druid of the Fang
Druid of the Flame
Druid of the Saber
Druid of the Swarm
and the sixth ranger who helps them out Shellshifter
1/2 base body is pretty bad if it gets Dirty Rat'd.
P.S. Are the transformations tagged as beasts?
P.P.S. Unlike Gastropod, you can't draw this via Curator.
Inconsistent with Stubborn Gastropod which is itself inconsistent with Webweave.
Sure, I understand that having a choice adds value - but class cards are supposed to be more powerful than neutral.
Druid of the Saber is strictly better than Bloodfen Raptor and Bluegill Warrior even though it has Choose One, because it is a class card. (Same could be said for cards like Crackling Razormaw).
Druid of the Swarm is worse than Stubborn Gastropod because...why?
If it gets pulled from your deck or is Summoned any other way than played from your hand it is just a vanilla 1/2.

Its decent.
A 1/5 with taunt is ok and a 1/2 with poisonous its ok.
For people comparing this to Stubborn Gastropod, its a completely different card.
first Stubborn Gastropod cant be combo with fandrel.
second of all druid of the swarm gives you a CHOICE on what you want so you can adapt to certain situations.
Overall think it more of an arena card.

Well, thats body.
My magic will tear you apart!
All of druids choose one minions become beasts when they transform, why shouldnt this one become a beast when it literally becomes a spider?LOL
Just Another Legend Player#Kappa
Wow, im wordless.. finally a strong 2 mana minion for druid, with taunt of all things.
it would be a 1/5 poisonous taunt, Fandral does not combine stats, only takes the benefits of both, see Druid of the Claw (4/6 Charge Taunt), Flame (5/5), Saber (3/2 Charge Stealth).
