That's not how Overload works guys, this kind of statement is so dumb as people talking about power creep when comparing different class cards.
People saying it would be playable at 2 mana, or with 3 attack: again, really?
Chill guys, it may see no play but all this suggestions would make the card stupidly strong. Just chill.
It costs 6 mana in 99% of the cases, you just pay that cost in 2 turns. Saying it is 6-drop is stupid, true. Think its alot better than ppl give it credit for. Its not strong T3 play but its 1 that you may have to make from time to time. But honestly i expect that this card is mostly seen through Stonehill Defender. Wouldn't really call it nerf to stonehill tho.
Overload isn't about mana cost though. It's about the tempo gain despite of the drawback next turn. Fair enough, it's bad to have a dead turn 4, but this guy has the potential to shut aggro for the next 2 or so turns.
In later stages of the game the Overload gets more irrelevant when you are at topdeck mode and so on, and the fact you can land it on board the same turn you discover it with Defender seems like a ok turn 6.
Concerning the early game I believe coin this on turn 2 could be a very strong play - definitely better than playing on curve for the reason you already stated. Not reliable enough, but this guys isn't as bad as people claims.
I guess its playable, but I think its bad because of the overload. It would go into a control deck so for 3 mana you get 10 stats (worth 4.5 mana) distributed in a way that it can be dealt with with Stampeding Kodo which is already a tech card against aggro that can be autodrawn with The Curator. Then the next turn you have between 1 and 7 mana to use. If its early game you can not have a slow turn 4, if late game 7 mana may not be bad, but is an odd cost for Shaman. there is Jade Chieftain and Stone Sentinel but those are for archtypes that are not too popular and even then those cards are at most a one of in those decks.
The moment I seen the stat line I thought Deathlord then looked at the overload cost...
this isn't a horrible card in arena. As it will probably deal with a couple early cards and live. But constructed I think the overload is a little bit too much.
I thought it was good because I misread it as a 3/8. At 2/8 there's really no reason to play it at any point except perhaps a meta where aggro with a lot of 2 health stuff is swarming you by turn 3.
is 3 mana
heartpwn: costs 6 mana
you guys are really good at evaluating cards. /s
ancient of blossoms is a pretty solid 3-drop to be perfectly honest.

I legitimately read that as "Darkrai Defender" at first.

Voted bad.
Might see this from stonehill defender more often than you'd think though.
My initial thought is Stonehill nerf.
I think you play this in an aggro deck, but I'm not sure you play it over Stonehill, Tar Creeper, or Feral Spirits.
I don't think this is a control or midrange card, because you're probably just playing Lightning Storm or Hot Spring Guardian in that spot.
Can you even call this an anti-aggro card if it takes two turns worth of mana in the early game to play it?

I can see this used on turn 4 or 5. Anything higher it'll probably get destroyed and anything lower won't give you anything to do next turn.
Also, is anyone thinking of the Evolve value of this card. 2 mana that evolves to a 2/8 taunt!
Great point, you don’t put him in an evolve deck but you hope your 2s evolve into him
3/8 taunt overload 3 with battle cry do nothing next turn or dust it when opened in pack.
3/8 taunt over load 3 battle cry : give your opponent extra turn

Oh look Blizzard remembered that Overload it's a mechanic!!
Nevermind they still haven't learned how to use it or what to do with it..
Flamewreathed Faceless (a playable card that sees not play currently) gets a total of 5 stats for 2 Overload, this shits gets 4 for 3 Overload....
Seems like a soft stonehill defender nerf to me.

This set sucks. Everything is overcosted
