Truly disappointed with the boring stat line..... Either a 2/5 or a 4/3 could have made this minion a far more interesting card and worth considering for some deckbuilding shennanigans. As is, I see no other purpose for it than arena filler, or perhaps trying it as an extra meme in silence priest.
Something just strikes me as horribly boring about Lifesteal, I guess the initial gist of the effect is opponents can't ignore it, or the blasted cards will just heal your opponent up to full if left unchecked. Leading to longer games. Like say, if this card heals you twice, is it great? I don't know... maybe... giving you time to draw your aoe, and what not.
There maybe aren't enough Lifesteal cards though to change the game in any dramatic effect though... yet.. if it's ever going to even do that.
The thing I find fun about lifesteal in priest is the prospect of a deck where Velen works as something other than a combo piece. This isn't the card to do it, but...I wanted to say something nice about it.
Meh. Personally, I was hoping for a mid range deathrattle card for quest N'Zoth. There's still a rare card left so maybe it'll happen. Yes, I'm aware of Obsidian Staute but that's 9 mana. I gotta agree with most folks. It doesn't touch Kabal Talonpriest, and I'd even run Glimmeroot before this since Spirit Lash will help with the board early on.
Common 3 drop that is good enough for Arena. Priest doesn't really need any help in Arena, but this is good for them. I can't see it being really good for constructed, but if the meta is really aggressive I think Lifesteal cards as a whole will shoot up in value, so I guess we'll see.
While I do not think that this is in any way comparable to Priest of the Feast in terms of survivability or overall value, its existence (along with other cards yet to be revealed) may allow for some new priest archetypes that don't rely on Priest of the Feast for its body or ability, opening up the 4 spot for other cards.
As I read over this, it even sounds like a stretch to me though.
My Aggro/Midrange Priest is slowly coming together. Mwahahahaha...
In all seriousness, it's a good demonstration of the stat penalty Lifesteal has on vanilla minions (1 stat point). It lets Priest more easily run Corpsetaker, if nothing else. It's also a good 3 drop alongside Kabal Talonpriest. That's something.
Exactly what i was thinking... Enables corpsetaker.
I haven't played much shadow form priest, but this card might help that deck archetype. Especially if the new priest death knight involves no more healing (shadow form hero power).
Simple, elegant. I like it. I hesitate to call it unplayable at the moment. Priest does have a lot of ways to buff creature Health. I am interested in seeing how lifesteal works out at this point. Blizz seems to be valuing it pretty heavily. Can't tell if they are being overcautious or if it's better than we think.
I know it's not a particularly complicated mechanic but we haven't ever seen it on this many cards either. Wide spread access to a mechanic can have unforeseen effects on the meta.
Anyhow I rated this playable. That is to say that this card is a fine card to run in budget decks or for f2p players as a easy to get tool against aggro. It could be better, or just a worse farseer perhaps.
would be good as 3/4 too weak as is as most things easy trade into it so wont get much value there already a lot of good 3/3/4 why couldnt this be one :/
Ah man. I saw the revealed card as Acolyte of... and was hoping for Acolyte of Joy (read flavor text on Acolyte of Pain.
I don't see much point in this card yet, but I suppose it has some potential. After I switch to Shadow Form, I sometimes need healing. Priest of the Feastdoes require you have some spells and does cost more mana. Then again, you really want to buff this guy and there aren't a lot of options.
Lifesteal is going to be strongest in Priest IMO. What Priest does well is keeps minions alive with his Hero Power, but there are a lot of situations where you're stuck deciding whether to heal face to avoid lethal or to heal a minion to preserve the board. Lifesteal will be a 2 for 1 effect in Priest, on par with Priest of the Feast in terms of how it annoyingly keeps Priest alive.
In Arena this is probably an auto pick, in constructed I do think it's strong enough to see play alongside Kabal Talonpriest. So we now have what, a solid 1 drop, two solid 2-drops, two solid 3-drops, taunt as a 4-drop, at least two solid 5-drops......tempo Priest incoming? Hopefully?
edit: I read the comments on reddit. I can't.............People are so goddamned close minded it's infuriating.

Ehhhhhh... could be good. We will see what zetalot can do with it.
Good against aggro, bad against everything else. Meeeeh.

Begging for buffs, lacklustre by itself.

The legendary prince is just 4 mana and a deck handcap because fuck it he has a cool animation i guess

There should be a Pack Filler category in the poll.
It has to be snakes.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Decent boost for priest arena (common slot + new set occurrence bonus). Arena aside, it's a pretty bland card, a set filler.

This card really should have been in a batch somewhere.
