Nobody said that this card will completely remove Jade druid from the game by its own. But this card is very useful for pure control decks to have fair endgame vs jades and that's all. Well it is too much expensive, if it would 5 mana it would be better, but now it is definitely playable too.
And by the way it greatly wrecks plan of evolve shaman when you play it on t6 too
This tech card really works, for me at last: playing it in turn 6, 7 or 8 can easily disrupt Jade strategy for the end game and then Shadowreaper Anduin is there to close the match.
Also it works amazingly also against Evolve Shaman, killing its Doppelgangster combo.
It is a shit card. whenever I play against jade, it waits in the last 3 cards. I am highly sure blizzard changed its drawing chance while playing against jade. I am so sure about this. I will remove this from my deck since it is useless against 12-12 13-13 14-14 15-15 16-16 on the board
EDIT: 2 minute after leaving this comment I see another jade druid and my shit card still at the bottom of the deck. Love you blizzard.

Hello salty jade druid that want people 2 stop killing ur idols
are you idiot? I'm not the jade druid. I am against the jade druid. People should learn how to read..
Actually, while everybody saw the potential against Jade Druid, it helps against other matchup:
- Evolve shaman -> You just burn their turn 6 combo with the gang, and limited their evolution possibilities to 2 minions and their DK. Game is mostly won.
- Control warrior : gone are the 2 shield slam. Too bad. Yet that useless armor looks nice on you. A pity I must remove it...
- Priest : kept spells for Lyra or to change attack = health ? Nope, maybe next game... And wby the way, have fun removing my 4 attack minion.
- Rogue too can be pretty annoyed if you removed its 1 mana spells he kept for a Malygos combo. Ok, this ain't the most popular deck in the meta right now but should it return.
- Paladin (in wild): No more secret with me, I know you all.
I run it in my control demonist list, and it's although useful to thin the deck a bit, removing the remaing mortal coil in my deck that, on turn 6 ain't likely to kill anything, so better to draw something consistent.
In the end, while a bit too late for aggro/mid, it's a must have for control.
I would like to comment on this card. I don't know how to order my thoughts, but I will begin like so:
I really like this card, it serves its purpose and has a nice (mediocre) body. Although, as already discussed, it doesn't counter only jades, but also other decks as well, I would like to talk about the Jade Dudu MUs. And they feel fair, thx to this tech both me and my opponent are in the same position and noone can make godlike golems so early and so easily. The jades now cap and thus I can handle them better. I don't always win, when I play the Geist, but the odds get better and, like people said, this is the purpose of tech cards overall.
I also like the ability to destroy your own worthless cards. Because normally I want to start top-decking something strong in the late game and let's say I end up drawing a Lightning Bolt instead of an AoE. Like a Hemet, Jungle Hunter effect.
And lastly the stat contribution. As a 4/6 body for me it's the best choice. If it were a 6m 5/5 or a 6/4, it could die pretty easily to AoE or to single-target removal effects. If it were the other way around - a 3/7 - it would hardly do something impactful other than the battlecry effect. But as a 4/6 body it has the potential to do some trades and to survive or/and to threat face damage, and is annoying against priests (the 4 attack and the health over Dragonfire Potion).
All in all, I would give the card a very high rating.
I think a lot of players overestimate the value of this card. 4/6 for 6 is bad...and the special ability only works once....so nobody will run more than one of those in his deck. It's a turn 6 card...so you will most likely not want it in your starting hand. That leaves you with like a 15-20% chance(not feeling to do the real maths right now) to have it by turn 6. So even if you hit on a druid or priest that is heavyly relying on 1cost spells...well...it does not mean that you get the card in time. Not to mention, that your opponent may already have used quite a number of his 1 cost spells(you mulligan for those and you usually don't keep them on hand for turn 10 or so). Yes, greedy jade druids may run into trouble once in a blue moon...but that's not going to ruin them either.
Going to be hilarious tho if a priest copies that from your deck and can't play it then. ;-)
Lol you don't need to cast it turn 6 and for control decks that have draw you might only need to use it turn 10 to beat the Jade Druid.
Also as priest I would not mind playing it, potion of madness and even inner fire are not that great in a control match up and cleaning my deck sounds great.
Yes I can't agree more. Any specific counter should not be as effective as this one.
Comparing with other counters like Big Game Hunter, Eater of Secrets or The Black Knight, they cannot counter before opponent play the corresponding card, and they are not cost effective if they are played without using the card effect. Player has to hold those cards on hand and wait the right time to use. But Skulking Geist, player doesn't have to wait, and it is cost effective by all means.
And more important thing is, it can remove cards in opponent hand and deck. How many cards in Hearthstone would do so? I can't tell any other than Death Grip from The Lich King, even if Deathlord (out of standard) and Dirty Rat would let the card go battle field and they only counter card with battlecry, and they only affect one single card. Skulking Geist just swipe out ALL 1-COST SPELLS, AT ONCE! ON HAND AND IN DECK! It may reduce the opponent hand effectively, or if it remove like 2 cards in opponent deck, it would go as a 30 cards VS 28 cards for the whole game, and more cards win for a long game VS control deck. I'm not totally against such idea but Skulking Geist is going too far.
Also, it doesn't require anything in the deck. It doesn't require you to put some stupid murloc or pirate or weapon or else in order to use it - just play it out and no more 1-cost card in the world. I doubt if all the control deck would use it, and if it does, all the 1-cost spells are not "place-able" against control deck anymore - you lose even if you "place" it in your deck without "playing" it. This effect is too board and it denys too many valuable decks, and the idea to use some abnormal cards like Earth Shock or Naturalize.
I have no idea where this mechanics come from. So when would there be a card to swipe all n-cost cards, or all pirate cards, or all mage spells if mage were too strong? It just sounds like idiot to me, and again, "Too bad the community praises Blizzard for this "solution" instead of changing the effect. We are just encouraging Blizzard to make new problematic cards and a Counter next expansion."!!!
In my opinion it is effective enough if it swipe all 1-cost card in opponent's hand, with a lower cost and effective stat, which would reduce opponent's hand and total card count, and it would hurry the opponent to play out 1-cost card on hand. Even if it does no effect, it ensure the opponent doesn't get 1-cost card on hand, so it would clear some hard decision at some point
I need to talk about this, playing a lot of games this month, i realized that against jade druid my geist is always at least on bottom 5 cards of my deck, i got it in starting hand 2 times this month but unfortunately i was facing aggro druid then
We saw geist at the bottom at the Hearthstona World Championship game for Frozen, is this happening for u guys? I know that seems stupid but hey is always the same shit this has to be a bug
It happened to be my second last card in a recent match. It just kinda happens though, it's still a fairly small sample size. I know that I have been able to play a skulking geist on turn 6, and also I've had the geist played against my own jade druid halfway through the decks haha. It's unfortunate, but it does go both ways. No bugs or anything like that. Blizzard doesn't tag a select few accounts as "hated accounts", despite what people may think lol.

Yep, goes both ways. I've had too many games of Geist played on 6 against my Combo Priest deck than I can count. Seriously thinking of taking out the Potion of Madness copies for Shadow Madness, just because of how much Geist wrecks my deck.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

I've always hates Jade Druid matchups with my Priest decks. Skulking geist and Priest DK makes this matchup way too easy. Thx Blizzard:D

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?

it should remove 10 cost card instead.
You'll win the game at that point
lol

HAHAHA Jade Counter my arse, welcome to Druidstone Boiz.
With warlock being so popular lately, this is a great answer to Dark Pact.
and Mortal Coil if they run it.
