I really like this card. When I thought about its purpose, its mostly a game finisher. Often enough with rouge since they don't have any source of renewable health some games end up missing lethal by a few hit points. This card allows you to punish your opponent more freely with weapon and essentially doing what mage does. Stealth, hide, get final hit points after they're done being salty. Loses to AoE's tho which sucks but i think that's why the 5 armor is there for.
With only 1 Gadgetzan Ferryman in hand we can now complete The Caverns Below, even in its nerfed state. Is that easier than before? (of course it is slower)
To people pointing out the fact that most were wrong about The Cavern Below.
For one thing the deck wasn't even that good when it comes to overall winrate. It was just unhealthy because it was a very polarized deck and not interactive. So for one thing the card wasn't even that great in the end. Also, this is something completely different. People did not misjudged the power of the card, they misjudged the difficulty that it takes to achieve it. In theory, playing 4 minions with the same name seemed pretty hard. In practice, it was regularly achieved by turn 5-6-7.
When it comes to Valeera the Hollow it is by far easier to understand the difficulty it takes to play it. You “just” have to play it. For 9 manas. Yup. That's all. But that's a lot. It means actually spending your whole mana for a pure value play. Very well, it's a tool vs. control, I get it. But who wants a tool against control as Rogue? If we want to beat control, we just have to play our usual archetypes and maybe tech in Eater of Secrets to (be able to) beat Mage.
But it also mean that if you drew VTH in your early game you'll have to keep it for the most part of the game until you reach turn 9+ and begin to try to outvalue your opponent, and that is a true problem. You don't want clunky cards whilst playing a Rogue deck. Your matchups against aggro are already tough enough.
N'Zoth, the Corruptor is maybe the only exception, but its power level is by far over Valeera the Hollow's power level. And even tho, N'Zoth Rogue is a Tier 3+ deck if not 4 or 5 (not that I don't like it, on the contrary). And if N'Zoth was getting released now, people would be crazy about it saying it's OP as hell and stuff whilst it isn't in the current meta.
Actually is semi-bad. Situational, you need vanish in hand to clear the board after your "stealth" turn. You need to draw cards and those 2 giants that will double themselves over 2 turns(1 original, 1 copy, next turn 2nd original 1 copy)
You get 5 heal, don't die this turn. Enemy pushes minions on board. You play vanish otherwise you might die. You don't get a copy of vanish.
And now the game becomes a RNG fiesta. If you had some cheap cards/spells/minions you start doubling up those cards, and virtually you could play 3 giants. If you don't have vanish or something good to clear the board ...
RNG. RNG RNG
Did you just literally complain about the inherent RNG of drawing from a deck in a card game?
I did .. did I ? man. This card turns me inside out. I want to see it in play. From now on this card is NEUTRAL. Not bad, not good, not playable, not dust .. just neutral....untill expac comes
The only beef i have against this is that it basically forces you to play Arcane Giant (gosh i hate that stupid card).
Sadly, outside of those dumb big guys, there is not much else you can do with your first Shadow Reflection : useless with Preparation, very low impact with Backstab almost impossible to use with Shadowstep and probably not worth it with Counterfeit Coin. That's a shame, as it would have been nice to have the opportunity to play Valeera the Hollow + double Swashburglar/Journey Below/Hallucination or even Mistress of Mixtures in some cases. (okay, technically, you can still do this on T10 with a Counterfeit coin or a Preparation, but that seems rather costy for what it does)
If only Arcane Giants didn't exist and this was a 7-8 mana card...
I see a lot of people trying to come up with combos for the turn after playing this card that involve copying 1 mana cards. This is the question you have to ask yourself: Is it really worth 9 mana to become immune for a turn and get the equivalent of drawing a one mana card? That seems pretty weak when you have to basically give up a whole turn to do it.
OK , new combo with 3 cards only - Leeroy> Cold blood > Copied CB > Shadowstep> Leeroy - 20 damage with 3 cards +1 reflection
Great! I'm also curious, if shadowstep can remove Plague Scientist before pyromancer board clear. In that case Shadowstep can be great card in control rogue deck with different utilities :)
I think the game gives you the minion in hand and then Pyro aoe's. It's like when casting Holy Nova with Pyro and Cleric. you deal 2dmg, heal for 2 then, draw cards then pyro goes on.
0% winrate vs. any aggro deck. Does not even play Preparation or Swashburglar/Patches Razorpetal Volley without Evolved Kobold is meh. Too greedy overall and you're mixing too many logics. And Sap is bad.

NO PREP???? AUTOMATIC LOSS!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS DECK DOESN'T EVEN RUN THE BEST ROGUE LEGENDARY EVER PRINTED, GAJITZAN AQUATIONEER!!!!!! ZERO PERCENT WINRATE FO SHO
Most Rogue decks lose to to-your-face aggro decks like Pirate Warrior. We could try to fit in Swashburglar/Patches but would have to remove Hallucination which is a better card for this theme. Also would have to take one more card out.
We could try to add in SI7: Agent or Tar Creeper for anti-Aggro, but what cards would you take out?
I like one copy of Sap because it deals with buffed minions like targets of Spikeridged Steed but also can act as a tempo card against any Taunt or even small early threats like Frothing Beserker. Furthermore, Sap is a good card to use with Valeera the Hollow's hero power as you can double sap for only 4 of 10 mana you'll have on that turn. I can see that Sap may not be needed and could be cut however.
Razorpetal Volley is the most controversial card in this deck but it will fuel Gadgetzan, Arcane Giant and has the most synergy with Lilian Ross.
...Or even remove Gadgetzan Auctioneer and keep the second Fan of Knives. Without Hallucination and Sap, Gadgetzan gets a little bit weaker and there should be enough card draw between 2x FoK, Bloodmage, and the various cards that draw from your opposing class. The downfall of removing Gadgetzan, of course, would be losing the ability to cycle late game and draw into Giants.
Props to whoever said the forums full of rank 20s. They still haven't learned after rating quest rogue as shit and obviously never even play rogue to understand this card.

Jesus Christ, I know you are sick of the community right now, maybe take a break from it? I mean do what you want but this seems to be highly upsetting to you. Over exaggeration, the lack of wanting to experiment and an overly inflated sense of being right can be frustrating to read day in and day out but it's not as if you are making it any better.
this makes something like Reno rogue actually playable. the problem with it in standard is that rogue doesnt have good enough healing to make this not be dead on the next turn.
this feels like its supposed to combo with The Caverns Below with the ability to make duplicates of the same card or maybe a Nzoth deck to make duplicate cheap deathrattle cards or some sort of Miracle rogue that you can make duplicates of your damage/buff cards. But a 9 mana card with its ability makes it feel more control-ish where Rogue struggles with in terms of staying alive..
This isn't a top tier card, but something that could be played in Arena because of the duplicate ability. Maybe might see play in some constructed decks though.
Now this is different! And by "this" I mean all of the components: the hero card, the passive hero power and the generated card.
TBH don't know yet whether it'll be good or bad, but at least it's something new, and it's consistent with other cards in the expac, pushing for longer games.
I really hoped the rogue DK hero power would be "Discover a weapon" - but this is also awesome.
Can't wait to test it! :)

If I made the deck better against Aggro, I would add 2x Swashburglar, 1x Patches the Pirate, and 2x Tar Creeper.

Hmmm, so Jade rogue and maybe a quest deck?
Shame its not 8 mana then you could set it up with Doomsayer, suppose you could use shadow caster to do it.

I like how much value you can get off this if you do stuff like copy stuff like mimic pod. Prep > Mimic pod > Mimic pod into other stuff, sounds fun.
