Looks like fun. I think what mainly holds it back for me is just the randomness. It's TOO random; if cards like this had a more strict cost range or something I think they'd be more useful. We'll also have to wait and see until the whole set is released but there's also a lack of spell generation for rogue. Rogue doesn't even have very many really strong situational spells that could potentially be useless. Most of their spells that see play are good/cheap removal.
We've only seen 30% of the rogue cards for this expansion, though, so situational spells and spell generation are obviously still a possibility.
Is it just me or have the class legendary minions across the board so far been pretty lackluster. I'd say that Hadronox has the most potential but I'm not even sure that is good enough to see play.
In a nutshell, I don't see Lilian Voss seeing play. Her only value is turning coins into real spells. But, turning actual rogue spells into random ones is bad. So the question is, is turning coins into random spells good enough to see play? I personally don't think so.
Druid, Hunter and Mage all got pretty good class legendaries on the face of it whereas the Warlock, Shaman and Priest ones are all mediocre at best.
This I'd put below the first 3 but above the latter 3. Voss could be great if she's supported in the rest of the set heavily enough (as above said) - but as of right now, she seems weak to me.
well i guess it can be ok to get ride of tech spells once you know you wont need them. (could still get worse things thou). And would take a nice timing to actualy do it efficientlly by turn 4 ... so. Not sure, Its one of those things that are just too slow on real life.
1) Why would you want to replace spells you put in your deck ON PURPOSE for random spells that will likely be less compatible with your deck from another class? I put spells in my deck for a reason....to use them not to trade them in for who knows what. I mean nothing like trading in that prep for shield slam right?
2) This means that even if you want to play this on curve you might not be able to....if you have a spell you want to keep or is critical to your deck in your hand...you cant play this card safely so its stat line means crap in that case.
Overall...very disappointed personally with this card. Not only because its bad but because its not fun. For example even though Archbishop Benedictus is likely not a "good" card it is still unique and fun to play. It does something that no other card does at that scale (coping an ENTIRE DECK). So while not competitive its at least fun. This card is not good nor is it unique or fun...you get the same effect by playing 2 hallucinations (because we know that you arent going to be replacing more than 2/3 spells on a good play of this).
Something like "gain a random spell from your opponents class for each rogue spell in your hand) would have been entertaining and fun at least...but trading in the spells YOU WANTED IN YOUR DECK for a crap shoot..and not even discover its just a roll of the dice...
Maybe work as backup plan in miracle, how many games you lost with useless coins and don't draw Auctioneer or draw after your Auctioneer died after use only 2 spells in the turn you play it? This maybe can be the 3° Auctioneer you cannot put in deck.
4 manas 4/5 trade that coin,1 sap (when opponent have only cheap or battlecry minions in board) and a petal for 3 random cards is not that bad.
Blood Petals + Burgly Bully with this could be decent. People judge this card so quickly without looking at potential synergy. That new Prince 4 drop is good, but if you need heal as rogue, think about what card you can get by swapping your spells with priest, mage, or pally.
Sucks at first sight, but I'm inclined to believe we can reach some really nasty stuff.
Also, in constructed, you got give credit to the unexpected. If not consistent it will at least be fun to play. Also, unlike mages who will do nothing with weapon related spells, the Rogues can at least put some (lot of) use.
Maybe not overly strong, but I'm sure it's not the garbage many are saying. Oh, and solid Yeti body for Yeti mana, there's that. Never forget the body.
I just had a thought. Since Rogue needs significant tempo to beat most aggro decks, you could try this card in a double counterfeit coin tempo Rogue. If you are in a matchup or situation where the coins just aren't cutting it, you can drop this bomb to change them into more valuable tools. The same can be said for cards like backstab and prep. These cards are all great, but sometimes they can just be kind of stuck in your hand too. Then you'd put in Shaku, hallucination, buccaneer, peddler, etc and go to town as a thief rogue.
I think it's good if you play all the razorpetals and burgly bullies. Could play it in a Maly Rogue version so you can do something with your petals in case you don't draw Lilian.
I never played WoW and I first read Liliana Vess, lol...
Yaay finally (on the second page) I found someone commenting on the name.
I mean, it's obvious the devs are fans of MtG (they wouldn't even start to create a CCG if they weren't), but really... Did this need to happen...
(Somewhere in the comments, there's someone calling this "Straight out of Fan Creations - well, has to be with the name; that's a name I'd expect from Fan Creation for chuckle, not from [other game (direct competitor)]'s respected (well, somewhat) devs)
Lillian Voss is a huge name in WoW lore for Rogues, so yes, it was inevitable. You can't say you wouldn't expect this from Hearthstone devs when they literally didn't even come up with the name.
In fact this is addressed on the Wowpedia page for Lillian "Though commonly assumed to be a reference to Liliana Vess (a necromancer from Magic: The Gathering), Wryxian has stated that any similarities between the characters are coincidental"
Now whether you believe that or not, that's down to the WoW devs, not the Hearthstone ones.

With miracle I can find a use for coins in most cases. Are there are few times where I get backed into a corner and the coins are worthless...yes but I am not seeing the value in putting in a card in my deck that will help out in only those cases (and in many times likely not do anything or make it worse) when I could use that card slot for something else.
Meh. Renounce the darkness with a body that then requires a follow up for the discount (and only affects cards in hand at that moment). And we've seen how much renounce gets played...

Lilian Voss was introduced in the Cataclysm expansion for WoW. Still, an obvious Liliana Vess reference.
Feel like this card exists to try and combat the Rogue double prep double coin no minion hands.
That said, feel like this card would be better just being a third Auctioneer than trading spells you intentionally put in your deck for RNG from another class. But, as a Hail Mary, well we've seen how Babbling Books go...
P.S. How long will it take for Blizzard to listen? It's really not getting fun to having to play around Antonidas, Ice Block Rogues. So much skill is removed from the game when you allow classes to play with other classes cards. And you've given so many different classes the ability to use cards that are straight up broken in a different class.
If you can hit razorpetals, toxins, and coins with this, especially after a gadgetzan turn, this should be pretty good. However, this also hits your preps, eviserates, fans, mimic pods etc, so I think this is gonna be too much trouble for its worth
At first glance my reaction was, "huh? A yeti that makes your hand worse? Why?"
Then after reading the comments and thinking about it, well, a lot of rogue spells are pretty weak for low mana cost, and rogue can generate low cost spells pretty effectively. Early game this could curve in to etherial peddler to get a bunch of cheap spells that are better than your initial cheap spells, or later in the game you can change cheap spells in to more expensive, better spells.
I'm curious to see if people can make this work, there's some potential here, but its hard to tell if this will actually be good.

I play Renounce all the time... but I don't win with it. This is a fun card. Like renounce. Like the new priest cards. Like the new mage x-mas tree. I get the feeling this expansion is full of fun cards... which means the meta is not likely to change much.

Sorry, but this made me laugh. I haven't heard anyone say "drop this bomb" while referring to a Chillwind Yeti before. lol I'm not even arguing your points or making fun of you. I just feel this moment should be appreciated.

How is this a fun card?
I can see Benedictus being fun (shuffling an entire deck)
I see Renounce as being fun (trade in your whole deck for a random but discounted one) it does something no other card does on that scale
This card...does nothing fun...usually all it will do is switch out 2/3 rogue cards for random cards...no discounts, no bonuses, just trade them out.
Gratz you just played a yeti and essentally 2 hallucinations (only you had to ditch your good cards for the gamble....and you didnt even get to pick as its not discover)

Oh gawd no. Now stupid rogue plays Call of the Wild when I don't even have it in my deck.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
