Not a beast = problem. Why do I need to discover anything in my deck? I'll draw it soon enough anyway. There is a reason aggro always seems to draw an answer...

I feel like Hunter needs a lot more tools for the control style to be viable. It needs two more tools to become a viable archetype. So here are two cards that I made to show that.
1. A low cost weapon that is meant for board control.
Hunter NEEDS an early weapon or Control style is dead in the water. What happens is Hunter typically loses so much tempo and board control that it can't do much else but lose. This card is supposed to help that. You can either shoot minions that are played or hit them with the gun itself for weaker damage. Allows you to play something like Stitched Tracker the turn after.
2. A big dumb Lifesteal Beast.
Doesn't need to be fancy. Just a big dumb lifesteal beast would work really well in Hunter. Preferably at 6-Mana so it replaces Savannah Highmane. You could play Abomination Archer right after to revive this minion. This card would be better than Savannah Highmane in that deck because you don't want the Hyenas from Highmane to be revived.
These are just two cards I made to show that Hunter still needs more support to be able to go a more control-style archetype.
I am not sure yet what to think about the card. Tracking and Tracker could allow to fish for specific cards. The card text and stats kinda sound more like late game to me. A 2/2 turn 3 is not the minion you want to begin with. Since it isn't a beast you won't be targeting to specificly discover Houndmaster.
On the other hand in late game, when you have no turn, slap Tracker and maybe find Highmane(s) on the spot.
Another use could be to dig for the new professor Legendary for Secret synergy. 2 (or even 3 from 2 Tracker each) copies of the Professor could be a thing. Not sure though if consistent and fast enough..
midrange hunter and better stats for worse card draw, this is worse card stats for one of the best card draw cards, slightly worse in midrange than it would be in control if hunter could play control. Will see play if hunter sees play outside of aggro.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
That's about it. If Control Hunter is a thing, this'll see play. If it doesn't, it won't. It's probably as simple as that. It's certainly a good card but Hunter still needs a little bit more and may well get it in the rest of the expansion.
I like the card design. It balances the need for card draw to make a Control Hunter potentially viable without making it too attractive for Face or Midrange Hunter. Putting the card in the crowded 3 Mana slot and not making it a Beast were good design choices to this end. That said, while I can imagine a Control Hunter deck around this card, the DK Rexxar, and maybe Putricide (lots of secrets?), it feels like we are quite a long way from making this a reality, so it is only playable for now.
I think there just might be enough support for a midrange/control hunter. Cards like this one allow you to build minion presence without going all-in. You could couple a few of the slower early game minions like this one with some board clears like grevious bite or explosive trap and curve pretty nicely into DK hero looking to out value your opponent with build-a-beast. I'm going to bet somebody out there will make this work.
Edit: come to think of it, tracking has seen play in the past. This is basically tracking on a stick only better because it generates a card instead of drawing one. This gives hunter tremendous flexibility. Getting swarmed? Look for nesting roc or houndmaster. Up against control? Go for highest value card you can find. Sitting on scavenging hyena, kindly grandmother and alley cat? Discover tundra rhino and get a huge swing turn by clearing the board with a bunch of chargers and hitting the face for 12. This card is sick. Could even be meta defining like shadow visions.
Excellent card for Control Hunter, and only for Control. A 3 mana 2/2 is way too slow for both aggro and midrange.
This might actually make Malygos Hunter viable in Wild, since you'll only ever need to draw half of your deck (on average) to get both Malygos and Emperor Thaurissan. There may even be some combo potential in Standard, we'll see.
This card is obviously good but I'm curious if it's too slow. If it fits anywhere, it'll fit in mid-range hunter and if it does well, it'll do really well.

FANMADE CARDS BY ME:

Wouldn't a giant bat make more thematic sense for a Lifesteal beast?
Hope that no good combo ever appears in hunter... being able to tutor for copies of a key card is extremely powerful.
Guys come on, it's Shadow Visions for minions. Shadow Visions was pretty OP; this will be almost as good.
Imagine if you had a Loot Hoarder with 1 more HP that you could choose what to draw with. And besides:
Extra Hyena
Extra Highmane
Extra Putricide?
Seems pretty great to me
yeah thats pretty good

Seems good, but not enough compared to all the 3 drop Hunter is having now. Animal Companion? Rat Pack? Bow? And my new guy Bearshark?
Maybe one day if Control Hunter be a thing, this can be helpful.
Rexxar, I know we've had our differences in the past, but I love your new cards and well, I think I'd like to start playing your class again.
