Here's what I've noticed so far. I believe Blizzard are sort of balancing and spreading the power level of cards by creating more powerful commons, rares, epics while still having maybe 20 percent of decent legedendaries (20 percent of released legendaries). I believe that's what's going on here.
The reason for my post is due to numerous whining posts regarding the new legendaries and how LESS poweful they are than others that came before them. What's your take on their strategy?
You will also notice that Blizzard is trying hard to offer multiple archetypes with more recent things. In a lot of cases new cards will offer new ways to play that tend to require you to build arround it where in the past, yea they did a little bit of that but they also made a lot of generic cards that were just good.
Some of this is their attempt to not just continue to power creep the game but offer different ways to play so every set you dont just have your previous deck add 1 new card that proved itself to be the strongest from the set.
Due to having more focus on their specific builds or mechanics, you can bring up the power of more cards rather than just try to power creep for what the strongest version of Darkbomb you can release is.
For over a year, most of the strongest cards in most decks (not counting you, Wallet Warrior) were commons and rares. Remember Piloted Shredder? That was a common, believe it or not. Most strong utility cards are also free/common cards from the basic/classic set.

Princes look really bad if you open few packs, they are interesting for deck builders but not for the average players.
Cards like Princes I believe would be great from Blizzard to just gift away as undiswnchantable rewards so people can experiment with them and not piss people who open them, the 4 Mana prince is the only legendary I really really do not want to open, all other legendaries are at least niche but that one I hope to never open.

80% legendaries from every set are total crap.
Yeah I tend to agree. It sounds about accurate.
Legendaries has become less multi-pulpose and more focused in a specific deck or maybe two.
Epics has risen in power as now even "cheap" aggro decks use them.
Rare and common are, as always more or less but with less power level overall.
What i observe is a more narrow use of each card in all rarities and less multi class, multipulpose cards

Nobody is actually saying this for any reason other than the Princes. This set already has more playable legendaries than TGT.

They sure do present interesting deck building challenges. (princes)
