maybe there's still something in the set that will help these guys out, but i can't for the life of me think of anything
or even bother build around some very lackluster effects that are probably not worth it. i'll keep an eye out for keleseth though, maybe theres something to work out with this guy. the others... no, thank you
or...Blizz could reveal another type of card that makes these a thing and makes this thread eat some tasty crow.
Blood Queen Lana'thel would have been the card that made the most sense to have some sort of prince synergy, lore wise at least. She's just another case of missed potential though.
That's what they didn't mention! First 10 pack is a prince! :D
I agree they should print this cards and gift them away to let people experiment, they aren't a bad concept and some may work with enough iteration but for the "poor" player it will freaking suck to open one of these :(
These are the cards everyone is going to white knight and say we're underestimating but in reality they'll nearly never be played on any even remotely serious level. Some people just can't take it when people are honest about how mediocre a card is so they have to defend it for some odd compulsory reason.
I think most people underestimate those guys : Prince Taldaram is a very solid card, with tons of applications. Even though its lategame potential is arguably worse than Faceless Manipulator, people fail to realise how much more useful he is in the early game.
Prince Valanar is a neutral heal, so you shouldn't except too much from him. While its raw potential is limited, his drawback is not that harmful for some classes : he is a natural feat for Miracle Rogue (maybe Unicorn Control Hunter as well). Since he fills a role badly needed by those archetypes, he is quite likely to see play.
Sure Prince Keleseth seems very niche : the only application i could see for him is Quest Hunter. Still, classes like Paladin, Rogue or Warlock could make some kind of aggressive deck work with this guy.
So i think those gut shouldn't be dismissed so easily : they sure do look more viable than at least half of the legendaries revealed so far... (compare with Moorabi, Hadronox or Sindragosa)
I'm currently looking into the Prince cards as being feasible to some degree with Dead Man's Hand. The problem is the 4 mana Prince gives healing. Warrior doesn't need healing. The 4 mana Prince will likely work best with Rogue and Warlock. Rogue has the least useful 4 mana cards out of the other classes, in my opinion. I made mention in a thread I made that Hemet, Jungle Hunter could work really well with the 2 and 3 mana Prince cards. Might be worth checking into.
Don't write them off yet. They all have serious potential.
Keleseth see's play in zoo decks, Valanar see's play in rogue decks and I have been playing Taldaram in wild with my own big priest deck and is over 70% WR. So no they aren't as bad as you and many others thought.

Yeah the Princes turned out to be much stronger than people expected. But why would you run Taldaram over Mirage Caller though? He has greater stats and is immune to Potion of Madness but is it worth sacrificing Shadow Word: Death for?
Valanar sees play in some mill rogues. It's not that terrible.
The princes altogether aren't awful. They aren't good, but they aren't terrible. I don't know where this whole thing started of them being jokes, maybe just people parroting streamers again, bt the only one I'd call awful is the 3/3. I just don't see that one working.
Prince Keleseth is awesome. So much talk about dusting him, I actually spent dust for him to use in a Paladin handbuff deck, if I draw him in my first 3 turns or so, my win rate increases significantly.
Prince Valanar is not very impressive but he works in some rogue decks. They don't have many decent 4 drops, and he addresses the issue of a lack of taunts and heals for rogues.
I haven't seen anyone use Prince Taldaram yet, but the potential is there. He'll find a use somewhere.
you think they're going to make a 1-drop or 5-drop prince
kisses are a better fate than wisdom

So sad to call everything what is interesting but not OP as hell to packfiller, new trend on hearthpwn....

Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
So, are they as bad as we thought?
Haven't played a single one or against a single one.

They are not.You can't simply jam them in every deck, but they are at least playable.

thanks for this. This actually explains a lot about hearthpwn community and their addictiveness to ranked ladder.
