No, I tried today, much better is use x2 Corpsetaker, divine shield you get from 1/1 spell power, taunt from Lich King and The Curator, Lifesteal from neutral beast 5 manas 4/4 and windfury from elemental 4/8, looks bad but is not, the beast have sinergy with The Curator, the elemental is strong vs priests and you have a very good chance to full your board when get the spell from Lich King.
Corpsetaker in turn 4 with all abilities is godsend for rogue, much better than prince or all legendarys rogue have, fix your heal and defense weakness.
Win vs a hunter perfect hand, with rogue it was close to impossible.
It’s so funny looking through all of the comments calling this card complete trash, and yet it has basically become a staple in Miracle Rogue. Just goes to show how horribly wrong people can be.

I still don't buy it to be honest. Sherazin is far more powerful outside of aggro heavy metas.

I also think like you. For me this legendary is replaceable. I always look at Refreshment Vendor in wild.
Why I think that way: *the following reflects my personal believes, if someone in this thread would like to disagree, feel free to criticize*
- Prince Valanar - I had him myself and I DE him. People comment, how he's good in rogue decks and warlock for some reason (gaining life isn't that important, if you lose the drakes and the shamblers). However I would advice you not to craft him. Why? Imho there will be a card, that will replace Valanar and people could even put another copy of it in their decks. Sergeant Sally - a card, which was considered a filler, requiring you to sacrifice much for a specific, clunky as you wish, effect. I was one of those, who combined her with Power Overwhelming. And she turned out to be a fantastic AoE material back in MSoG, which was enough to reach legend with. However two expansions later and we got a cheaper and a more consistent AoE (Defile + Tainted Zealot times two), so the same fate will happen to Valanar someday. I don't think, that when the time comes for him to rotate out, that he will find a special place among wild decks.

He's a solid minion for his cost and I've played him in a few decks that could use a little help with healing/defense (Warlock and Rogue) and I could afford not to play other 4 drops. Still, I feel like his drawback is a lot harder to build around than Prince Keleseth and his upside isn't as good when you play him on curve either. He's still better than the 3 drop Prince though. I think the thing that gets people about this card is that what you get for the severity of the drawback just isn't impressive on the surface. You'd think he'd be more than just a decent role-player in a deck, but more of the focal point for the hoop you have to jump through to play him at full power.
I don't get Valanar's popularity. The only time I've seen the health gain matter was whzen it was played against me in a miracle deck, and he had to play 2 of them( thanks to valeera the hollow)... and it was 1 month ago.
In Miracle Rogue you have to cut Sherazin and/or xaril. and Honestly I think sherazin is simply a better tool. In tempo Rogue Saronite Chain Gang is better stats wise (double buffs from keleseth), and you could still play xaril. RUnning Valanar in that deck is nonsensical, the healing is never useful.
In control warlock you have to cut Twilight drakes DoA shadowflame and hellfire. In zoo warlock you still have to cut Argus, and again saronite chain gang is simply a better taunt as health rarely matters in a zoo deck.
In Paladin just run corpsetaker. In Hunter just run houndmaster. InMage you can't you need polymorph/fireball/molten reflection. (usualy at least one of these depending on the archetype) In priest you need the 4 mana slots for shadow word horror, and as a result you're better off suing greater healing pot instead. In Shaman you need jade lighting. In warrior you have way better taunt options and don't need the healing. And in druid you need swipe.
I think it's really not worth it running it, and I think running it in tempo rogue is a mistake.
Agree 88%. For Priest you need either Kazakus or Eternal Servitude, depending on deck, in the 4 spot.

May I say something about Prince 3. Unlike Valanar, whose effect you explained perfectly: what you get for the severity of the drawback just isn't impressive on the surface, I think Taldaram's potential is more valuable than we think and he might turn out to be a hidden gem some day.
The reason I think this way, is that for the low cost of 3 mana, he can copy a minion, which is more powerful than an ordinary taunt and lifesteal effect. Now, I'm not going to make a whole thread about it, people already discussed it in his page, but as we all know his power can be used is some kinds of combo decks, where having a cheap Faceless Manipulator is important. Because the prince doesn't copy the stats of the minion, so any Leeroy Jenkins similar burst deck won't work. This leads to the other option: Malygos and Prophet Velen (maybe I'm missing something too), where we would profit from a minion's stacking effect. So unlike Prince 4, Taldaram could be used in a winning combo, his requirements can be considered reasonable for his effect.
However, something, that speaks against this prince, which I'm not going to deny and thus this little post of mine isn't quite necessary, is that there aren't any combo decks yet, which need him atm. In wild dudus use Aviana and Kun so no need for a 3m Faceless, when it can cost 1 instead. Priests use Mirage Caller. All those things prove, that Taldaram is the least beloved of them all, but I just wanted to express my opinion how he is more useful than Valanar. Time will tell, if Taldaram finds a home in a competitive deck or a minion with a stacking effect is introduced, I really hope so, but for now I have to defer to other's opinion.

not to mention, that in wild miracles prefer the 4m 5/4 coin giving dude
Funny to look back on this and see people say "All the princes suck" as if Keleseth isn't awesome as hell and used all the time.
