I dont think people give this card enough credit. Stand alone, without text, it is a 5 cost 2/7, which makes a great target for buffs such as Spike steed, coincidentally a 6 cost, a nice combo to have in a control deck. Now throw in the text; divine shield will help it stay on the board for the buff, and boost its own stats, now it is a 6/13 with a passive that has synergism with other big taunts, like tarim and grimstreet protector. Alternatively if used on turn eight coupled with blood knight thats a 3/7 and a 6/6 on the board, that can still grow.

I've been using this card and find it can work quite well. At a minimum he's 3/7 after the shield drops. More likely with a bit of intelligent game play, you can get him to 5/7 at least. Perhaps you can use Rallying Blade and then he gains 1/1. Or, with some better luck, I have seen him grow after a turn or two. If nothing else, he becomes a target your opponent must focus on.
Plus, his sound effects are really cool. I know, that's childish, but it's true, and it is fun to play cards that are actually enjoyable once in a while!

You are talking about about Bolvar Fordragon, not Bolvar Fireblood. Their buff's work differently.
