It's okay at best. Will have its uses but I'm not a fan of it being 5/4. That makes it vulnerable to all types of removal without the need of a board. Making it 4/5 gives it more staying power & gives it more of a legendary stat feel.
I don't think its that good right now. On its own it does nothing so you have to spend the mana on this card along with the secret and you get an extra secret in return. The card kind of reminds me of Fandral Staghelm or Lyra the Sunshard except that the payoff is a lot lower.
Best case scenario you play Cloaked Huntress the turn before this and it survives and then you play this while you are holding one or two secrets and then you get only another random one or two. This just doesn't seem that impactful for the resources you're putting into it.
Hunter needs more reasons to play secrets like Eaglehorn Bow or ways to get secrets into your hand like Arcanologist or Hydrologist. With the right tools this could definitely be a good card, but right now I think Secret Hunter still needs another good card to even compete with Midrange Beast Hunter.
Just my thoughts for now of course things will change as we see more cards.
Seems good, even though if it gets popular, eater of secrets will be used more and the deck will get hard countered.
Eater of Secrets, that's a good one. Works great against 'board? what board?' mage. Hunter just kills the thing with trades and puts out more secrets. In some ways, it's almost like a mini Nogginfogger. I do agree with the people saying Wild is its home turf.
A really "subtle" way to push secret hunter. It even curves perfectly after the 3 drops that makes your secret cost zero.Good card.
But I can't understand what a crazy scientist with quotes from profesor Farnsworth have to do with hunters or secrets. I guess it's the fact that he uses the same model than MadScientist.
well, putricide looks like Mad Scientist, so he would be "secret related",who played Mad Scientist? Mages and hunters. Mages are getting elementals or sindragosa or some bulshit freeze legendary (and if there was a nother way to get ice block as a mage i would unninstal the game). So you could say paladins, paly play secrets, but they had a better way to put them in the battlefield, so the will get probably some op taunt legendary (and paladins never really played Mad Scientist)
so hunter it is, he played mad scientist right? yeh lets give it to him.
who cares about lore, all heores are death knights, medivh is a party man in this game, varian is alive in the game, yseera is alive. ragnaros heal players, and edwin is not a pirate.
I feel if control hunter is a thing (probably won't be a thing) Professor Putricide could be good with just a few of the secrets and would be just a way to get value but not have the deck based around him.
Not bad! Frighteningly good in combination with Cloaked Huntress. Though I half expected Putricide to be a Rogue legendary rather than Hunter. In fact....it's actually kind of weird lol.
But of course, everyone is too busy going "WORST EXPANSION EVER!" to take notice of anything.
Slow cards and value doesn't work in hunter. Cloaked huntress was tried and didn't work well. I don't how this will either. Not optimistic about it all.
My initial thoughts were this card is very good, but after some reflection I'm not as sure.
There are several issues:
In order to play him with a secret you have to wait until turn 6. This in itself could be problematic:
The board is established then, and there aren't too many secrets that will significantly change the state of it
This is also typically the turn when a hunter plays Savannah Highmane, which is straight up one of the strongest 6 drops in the game
Professor Putricide himself is not a beast, and therefore lacks synergy with a lot of your cards
It can leave to semi-dead cards in your hand - You don't want to play all of your secrets without playing him, and you also don't want to play him without a secret in your hand.
It also doesn't address Hunters biggest issue, which is card draw.
He's certainly not bad, especially if Hunter gets a couple of decent secrets this expansion. But I don't think he is strong enough to make secret hunter a popular deck.
There is one thing that might kill the card, and it is not made clear in the text; can it attempt play the same secret? If can, and follow's Yogg's rules, this could be a garbage fire card. If "another" actually means a different secret, then we will need to test it for consistency.
Seems like a really good card, but I am not overhyping him since We need to see more cards supporting a value playstyle that dk and patrice seem to promote.
I think this is the most interesting new card we've seen so far. I just want to be the first to say that its name is death metal as fuck.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I like it but doesn't fit Hunter's lore really. Wanted the Professor to be a neutral or Rogue card, dealing with potions or something...

I dunno I feel its really good, but I dunno if it is.
Great combo with Cloaked Huntress, or even on its own with a secret.
If a slower hunter deck can work, this will be there.

It a cool card hyped to use it

Its like quest hunter all over again you guys dream so big and never learn
Finally first revealed card that has potential
This card is frighteningly good. If you even get 1 trigger with it that's a free card for on-curve stats.
this would have been mighty useful in year of the kraken....
