So essentially, a 9 Mana: Gain 5 Armor, Summon a 3/6 Water Elemental (and a delayed 6 Health back).
The Hero Power needs to be something great for this to work. The setup required for a good heal when using this is way too much, and even if you do it, 9 Mana for some healing and a water elemental is a sure-fire way to lose out on tempo.
Honestly, this card is interesting. My guess is that all the hero cards in this expansion will give you an extra 5 Armor. This card is obviously way too slow to see any play whatsoever in Standard, however it truly has a chance to shine in Wild where the meta is significantly slower.
3/5 - Playable. Seems strong in Wild, Trash-Tier in Standard.
The meta in standard hopefully will slow with all the lifesteal cards as well as quest rogue being dead. Ya jade druid could be a problem, but it's on Blizzard's watchlist and may get nerfed next. For wild, it's reno mage's equivalent of Jax.
Being on the Homepage doesn't mean it's real. I read the post, it's not a leak from Blizzard, it's a post from someone who has it on their phone or something. We will see if it is real.
In the case it is real, I guess I'm not creating Golden Mage Hero card after all, the card is incredibly bad. Hunter gets a 6 Mana Consecration, Mage gets a 9 Mana Water Elemental and Life Steal. It would need to be an insane Hero Power for this to ever be worth it...
Probably summon a 3/6 Elemental
It looks real to me and the heropower could be that or discover an elemental.
I'd wager the hero power is something along the lines of dealing 1-2 damage and summoning a 1/1-2/2 elemental with life steal. However, this is a 9 mana card, so you can't hero power the same turn and this is basically a 9 mana "gain 5 amor and summon a water elemental"... kinda meh.
I'm sad the warlock one is 10 mana. We already have Jaraxxus to cover the late game. Would have hoped he would get something like Hunter in the mid-range. Oh well, maybe he will wipe the board or something.
It would need to be a 3/6 elemental or the ability to discover a big elemental to see play. If the 10 mana warlock hero is any good, it will make Jax obsolete. No more dropping down to 15hp, getting oozed or sac pact. I don't even run Jax, he's just a winmore card.
I sure hope this isn't real. 9 mana seems like an exorbitant amount to pay for that Battlecry.
But then again, we haven't seen the hero power yet.
Also, her hair is missing the badass purple streak. I loved that purple streak.
Most control warlocks already run Jax. If so, every control deck of all 9 classes may run the new hero(varies by class), which could be better than Jax.
If the hero power does summon Water Elementals as people theorize, then this card is actually really solid. Very reminiscent of Lord Jaraxxus, but probably slightly weaker since it trades raw power for healing and the utility of freezes.
I know that there are those that are already hating on the card, and seem to think that this card is way too slow. This isn't too slow for something like, say, a Freeze Mage, which can stall out the game long enough for the Death Knight card to pay dividends. This also takes care of the Mage's lack of healing too. I can see Open the Waygate now being used as a two turn health swing that will frustrate aggro opponents.
If we go only by the card text, Rexxar is also quite underwhelming. Overall, the hunter hero is good cause it mixes batllecry board clear and infinite value from mid game and beyond.
So, we can't judge Jaina solely by it's battlecry. Healing for huge amounts in later stages of the game is kind of a moot point, but the hero power may change the way we rate it.
Depends on the hero power of course... Mage doesn't have much healing, but it has plenty of stall, so getting this out is not all that hard, and unlike Jaraxus who puts you on a life clock, this helps you become more durable. If the hero power has strong value, such as summoning an elemental or discovering one, this could give mage a strong fatigue style game. Whether that is viable in a Jade universe is another question. Independent of meta, it's not a bad card, but it does not fit well in current Mage archetypes since they don't play elementals. It could work in strict value mage decks, of which we have a few.
The source: It's from a leaked French hearthstone commercial for mobile platforms, the type you see on web or as in-game ad network placements. That is fairly plausible since those need to get done and put out before a release so they can show up right as the pre release marketing comes out. It's also very possible for the ad networks to accidentally start running them or to leak them.

Currently Mage is one of the best stalling class in the game. I don't think it's too expensive. With an elemental package they could stall AND develop the board at the same time since their freeze effects are too costly. I do think the current elemental archtype for mage leaves a bit to be desired though. We'll have to see the hero power and rest of the mage cards. Assuming this turns out to be legit.
This resembles Alexstrasza. You don' get to go face with it, but you can play it before Ice Block gets proced and set up a board for healing. It's pretty good if you want to stabilize against aggro, but it does very little to beat heavy control and jade. As of now it doesn't feel enough to push a value elemental archetype, but other elemental cards can change this. Thugh this will be tough as long as we have jade, cause you won't outvalue Jade, you can outtempo them, but this card doesn't help.

Bet the hero power will be summon a water elemental

Why Rogue is my favourite class:
My submission for this week's card design competition.

I would be willing to bet on this being fake from the artwork alone. If it is real then oh boy, that does not inspire excitement.
bout time mages get screwed i say
The card it's not worth it except maybe elemental mage (and even that would require some help).
Also, it's amazing how ugly the undead Jaina was in the previous arts of KotFT, yet this is even uglier.
I really don't think I am touching this, even with a stick.

So elemental mage is going to a thing❓ if so maybe pyros is now worth crafting 🤔
Just imagine Anomalous with this. Basically a full heal that clear the board.

I don't know. This card doesn't seem to mesh well with established Mage cards and strategies, is very slow and the elemental doesn't seem impactful.
I need to see more Mage cards.

Well, I guess it is about time us Mages got something shitty.

Seems like a card to make mage go deeper in the fatique game.. but that's the current place of Jade druid, Tank warrior and sometimes priest.
I really am unsure if Mage wants to be in that place in standard especially if Ice Block gets pulled out of standard.
Hero is 2 out of 5 at best.
Not sure if hyped yet.
