Ooh look, something new and shiny for us all to argue about and then discover isn't very good...
OK, seriously, anyone who thought the Rogue Quest was trash, or the Hunter Quest was great, should walk this path lightly. And comparing hero cards to quests is something that I think is correct, not necessarily in mechanics, but in how they are eventually used.
Just like the quests, most hero cards will not be played competitively, with maybe 2 or 3 being deck and meta defining. In such an isolated vacuum, I don't think anyone can say correctly whether the Hunter hero will be good. My instinct is the hero power just doesn't do enough, and so right now I don't think the card is very good. That might change.
But my overall point is people shouldn't get so hyped about hero cards, when I'm confident most will be meh.
Hero power is not good enough? perhaps it should decrease final products mana cost by one tho you are missing a point here. The real purpose of the hero power is to fill lack of card draws for Hunter at late game and you are guaranteed to get a high stat minion. If they support control hunter archetype this card will be very usefull.

I'm not missing a point. I simply don't think control Hunter will ever be a thing. Even if it does become a deck, I'll still have to wonder why? Hunter has the most restrictive hero power in the game in terms of the decks it encourages. I guess what I'm saying is, even if the control tools exist, will control Hunter ever be better than midrange or aggro variants?
And remember, you have to draw Deathstalker Rexxar to turn Steady Shot into something that can work with a control deck. What if you don't draw the card for much of the game? Then you're playing a deck that wants to get value, with a hero power that doesn't help that in any way.
I accept I may be wrong, be will there ever be a world where as a Hunter it is not good to jam a bunch of sticky 1 and 2-drops into my deck and play aggressively and for tempo, but instead to play a bunch of removal and late game?
I don't believe I am missing a point. I think I am being realistic.
It can be a thing with the right tools Sir Finley Mrrgglton or another card that gives you chance to target minions with hero power as I said before with continuous heal, steady shot might become totally useless at next expansion so you will not other chance but play more late game orianted decks because when you done dealing damage the face you will end up with no card at your hand while opponent still have 15+ health
The Hero Power is crappy. Combining mana costs is bad. It won't see synergy in almost every Hunter deck. If you combine Tundra Rhino (5 mana) and Savannah Highmane (6 mana) it just gives you 11 mana "not enough mana". Plus on turn 6 there are almost no low health minions so the " Consecration " is almost usless. The chances someone to play it in arena are PRETTY low becouse of the drop rate of the legendaries.
Of course as a f2p player i won't dust it but i won't play it.

When you combine the choosen cards their mana cost combines too. So if you want to play something really good in late game you'll have to play it in the other turn becouse of the 2 mana cost hero power.
what i don't get about these new hero cards is how they fit in blizzards design philosophy. they always want to keep things simple and easily accesible for new players, but with every expansion they release some stuff that feels like it could be a major part of the game but ends up being a small gimmick that imho has potential to confuse new players. with ungoro they made quests, which gave each class one card with a new mechanic. now there is another type of card that will probably be just one for each class. and in addition to that, these new hero cards kinda diminish the value of store-bought heroes. i don't know... feels weird.

Hydra + dispatch kodo = pyrobeast. "But you wont play it in the same turn you crafted it" if that card will see play, will be in a control deck, that is what a control deck does, heropower pass. I want to see a control hunter, i dont think that card will be enough, but if control hunter really be a thing, that card nuts.
I'm not reading 8 pages of comments, so this may have been said before.
I'm... curious about this card. The battlecry might make the card itself playable; a 2 damage, controllable nuke on the board, five armor, is a good control card.
However, the new hero power, i'm not so excited about. Why? Because it's slow. EVERYTHING they ever give hunters is slow, without giving us the card draw we need (or the healing) to play a slow game. Pay two mana to create a card which you then have to summon? Even if it's a stitched together creature -- it's just slow. You're either going to be dead by then, or you're going to run out of board control. (You won't run out of steam, but you'll always be reacting to what your opponent plays.)
It's hard to get excited about another control hunter card without knowing if they are going to support control hunter. I suspect they will not -- we're going to get some more bullshit that draws random cards unreliably.
I'll try it out. I'm a hunter fan(atic), but it's hard to be excited over just a single card. We'll see.
If the mana cost had been 5, it could be OP. However, I really like the idea of a Control Hunter and I appreciate the effort that Blizzard is putting in. But we need a lot of other cards to support this kind of deck. Starting with something like:
V1: AIM | Spell | 1 Mana cost. Choose one - Gain 2 Mana Crystal this turn only; or reduce the Cost of Hunter Cards in your hand by (1).
V2: AIM | Spell | 1 Mana cost. Choose one - Gain 2 Mana Crystals this turn only; or Gain an empty Mana Crystal.
V3: AIM | Spell | 0 Mana cost. Choose one - Gain 1 Mana Crystal this turn only; or Gain an empty Mana Crystal.

You cannot combine Hydra and Kodo but you can combine Dispatch Kodo + Duskboar for 6 mana it will be 6-5 that deals 6 damage which is better than Leeroy Jenkins
I am more interested in the programming of the effect. Basically they have a system in place that allows them to take any card art and card text and change the text, stats and mana cost on the spot and create a new card!
Yet they claim they cant change cards fast because of apple store when they can do shit like that dynamically? It really is just a lazy excuse why they don't buff nerf more often.
And this is why back-seat programmers need to get trapped under a burning bus.

As a mod pointed out earlier, first you get a Card with an effect (text), then you get a vanilla/keyword only Card to combine. And all discovered minions will have a cost of 5 or less.
looks playable.... will it make hunter op? doubt it... maybe though....haven't seen enough other spoilers yet
on second look, seems a bit slow, although it does help with hunter hands just running out of steam, its like the ability is good against control matchups and the battlecry is good against aggro matchups...idk
I think that this card is one that will be impossible to review until we've seen more of the set. I'm almost sure we'll get some cards that are tied to your hero being a Death Knight.
Perhaps a spell that has a stronger effect if you're a Death Knight. Or a minion that has a battlecry that only triggers if you're a Death Knight. Or special cards that require you to be a Death Knight. Maybe there will be some cards that allows you to cheat out this earlier as well, either by draw/mulligan or reduced mana cost.

I am sorry that I have to speculate about code I have never seen in my life before! But if the tavernbrawl with the party crashers could be fixed within a day and the code be changed without going through apple store and now they have dynamic minion creation, that makes you wonder.
Clearly a reason to wish my death.
Do you have any experience with coding? I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate "no" just based on these two comments.

I'm giving it 1/10
List of the current beast you can combine at standart
First Card
Second Card

It seems there is too much minions with card text that doesn't get benefit from combination.
Are the only ones that I would like to raise stats. I think they should also combine keywords in order to make this efficient enough

This could make Deathstalker Rexxar faster to play.
About the Hero Power, it need just a little fix: "Craft a custom Zombeast. Reduce its cost by (1)."
Lost interest at "even better hero power than jaraxxus"
