So I was trying out a paladin deck with The Last Kaleidosaur and The Voraxx and I was very surprised when I saw that the spells cast by voraxx's effect don't count towards quest completion. The Voraxx's text clearly states that YOU cast another copy on a friendly minion. Does anyone have a good explanation of why this happens?
It seems to me like the card text on The Voraxx says that when YOU cast a spell on it, it (the voraxx) summons a 1/1 and casts a copy of the spell.
"After you cast a spell on this minion, summon a 1/1 plant and cast another copy on it." If The Voraxx was casting the spell it should read "After you cast a spell on this minion, it summons a 1/1 plant and casts another copy on it."
Just as Djinni of Zephyrs or Yogg-Saron, Hope's End do not affect minions with "After/Whenever you cast a spell", they're effect does not work towards the quest, because the minion's effect casts the spell, not the hero, dependless of the wording.
Oh ok, that makes sense. Still, I dislike these inconsistencies with wording.
Thanks for the info, although I understand why it wouldn't work if it kills the voraxx since it says "after you cast a spell" so it can't do anything if the spell killed it.

sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken
It was clarified in the beginning of ungoro, that the voraxx doesn't count towards the palquest.

The copied spell does not count as a spell, like other minion cast "spells". Tried making it work it with Arcane Giant, Medivh, the Guardian, Mana Addict and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Also anything that kills The Voraxx does not get copied (for instance Naturalize for more mill potential). However, copying the effect of Jade Shurikan and Shiv has its uses, and when Rampage is used on a injured The Voraxx the effect gets copied (Meaning +3/+3 to both).
