Hi guys, I need some help with deciding which legendary to craft next.
So yesterday I unpacked Tyrantus. Uggghh, I know right, a terrible way to reset my timer. As I was about to disenchant it, however, I decided to check whether it would give me enough dust to craft another legend. It didn't on its own, but along with some gold cards it did! Nonetheless, I haven't dusted any cards yet, as I could get reckless with crafting and wanted to ask hearthpwn first.
I considered many legendaries, among them Tyrion, Tarim and Lyra. However, since I lack almost all epics for good priest and paladin decks, I decided against those, leaving me only with Sherazin and Alexstrasza.
Problem is both fit into a single deck only- Sherazin in miracle, Alex in freeze/burn mage (those are actually two, but still a few). I have become more careful about crafting lately, as my Rag+Sylvannas dusted was essentially wasted on Kalimos (I like ele shaman, but it's in a bad spot now) and fire plume's heart (competetive, but boring).
So, both miracle and burn are strong decks now, but which will remain stronger? According to vicious syndicate mage is stronger now, but will that remain so? So, should I craft:
1) Sherazin and complete my miracle rogue?
2) Alex and build freeze and burn?
3) Another legendary, perhaps a neutral I could use in many decks (besides Thalnos, have him already)
4) Nothing, keep Tyrantus and try to make it work (how could that happen though xD)
P.S.: I enjoy playing both decks, so the fun factor isn't deciding in my case.
Before crafting anything you should ask yourself what archetype do you really want to play, that will give you a real insight on what you what to craft :)
It depends on what class you enjoy playing the most and more specifiaclly, what archetype from that class you like the most. If you like Druid (like me ;p) and certinly Barbanus one, then try to make it with Tyrantus. If you enjoy Miracle Rogue, go for Sherazin, Corpse Flower.
I'm not sure if Alexstrasza is that needed unless you want to play classic Freeze Mage in Wild or play Quest Mage with Arcane Giant variant. ;)
I would love to play tyrantus in such a deck, but sadly I can't play it- no jungle giants, ysera or deathwing for a ramp deck in my collection.
Alex is also used in new burn mage lists, she is needed there and the deck looks effective. That's mainly why I am considering her in the first place.
First of all... and probably the most important question of all to ask!
Sherazin, Corpse Flower is a lady...? Well okey then. Whom am I to question the gender of a man-eating flower.
Secondly and probably more related to the actual question...
Alexstrasza is the versatile card here due to that it is available to all classes. If you are looking for dust value then crafting neutral legendaries will be higher than that of class legendaries in 9/10 cases with exceptions such as Tirion Fordring for an example. However, Sherazin, Corpse Flower is one of those cards that fall into a category of 'irreplacable' effects. Fandral Staghelm, Emperor Thaurissan, Bloodmage Thalnos etc.
So if you are looking for PUNCHING power... Sherazin, Corpse Flower is a stronger card due to how the card works as it makes and breaks an entire archetype a lot of the time where as Alexstrasza strength-wise is nothing like the flower but is still better 'value' so to speak in regards to dust.
Not sure if this helped but that's really all I can say so... eh. Personally I don't like crafting legendaries with some few exceptions and Sherazin, Corpse Flower is a card I could consider much like how I have crafted in the past Fandral Staghelm. Unique effects are usually more fun in my opinion so... my own biased and completely non-argued suggestion would be the flower as I consider to craft her myself as well.
I still think what gender she apparently is might be the more important question and what to take away from your thread! ^^'
I dunno about the gender xD, I've just seen some other people on hearthpwn call sherazin she and assumed blizzard called it "her" in one of their posts or something.
Yet Alex went under the radar every tme, I doubt they would ever nerf her, I can hardly imagine freeze mage getting so much out of control they have to do this. Besides, if I were blizzard, I'd instead rotate ice block to the hall of fame so players get less dust.
Sherazin, Corpse Flower is a bit like a wonderbra - looks fantastic but when you get in there you realise it's not as good as you first thought.
Alextrasza on the other hand is just a superb card. Works across loads of decks, all heroes and is in the classic set. You will never regret crafting her.

I think you make a valid point. Alex is forever and neutral. Besides, vicious syndicate's new snapshot indicates that miracle rogue is getting weaker. I'll stay away from sherazin for now and run miracle with the leeroy+ cold blood combo alongside the giants, it has been working for me so far.
Also, I've set my sights on Alex ever since I started playing, spectating a freeze mage game was how a friend got me in the game. Thank you all for the advice, it was very helpful!
Alex for sure. In various decks has saved me and won games for me. Also my first legendary. You never forget your first. Lol
And Sherazin is not as great as the hype. I got it out of a pack and tried it in miracle. Not impressed. Maybe good against some slow control deck, but not that useful in this fast meta.
Miracle can be played without Sherazin. Eg. With Arcane Giant and/or Malygos and/or Leeroy, etc. As long as you have Edwin.
She can also be played in N'zoth Rogue tho. And yeah, she's definitely good in Miracle. Just not strictly necessary.
Alex is cool. Not as versatile as she appears, but if anything, she forces you into particular deckbuilding, aka TTK decks. Neutral card, but very specific nonetheless.
Basically the choice can be simplified into Rogue vs TTK.
Check your plant-gender privilege! (Totally just kidding), but seriously.. Alexstraza is the way to go. Very flexible in different decks, classic neutral, and unique effect that has saved/won games many times.

My (custom) expansion:
Return to Outland (Black temple + Burning Legion cards)- Complete
Alex is a classic card, and all class card. It is also one of the "will probably get nerfed" cards so you will get refund.
Sherazin is a Rogue only-card from a set that will get to wild. And its not strong as Alex.
Playing since 1 June 2014.

A sad day that would be.

Alex was, is and always will be good .
Enough said .
Thank you for you thread! I am near 1600 dust again and time for crafting another Legendary. This made me decide. Alexstrasza the Dragon Queen indeed.
Death to all who oppose the Horde!

Sherazin - only rogue.
Alex - every class.
Neutral legendaries are always good.
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.

Maybe Sherazin will be better in the future, but you can get use of Alex immediately. Anyway, you've made your mind after all.
Alex for sure. Pay your respect to the lore for god sake!
