I`m from the Magic the gathering scene and played that with a lot of fun. Now i found my fun in Hearthstone and find lots of simularitys. The one thing i question in this thread is : Why is the castingcost of Faceless Manipulator 5 mana. Its exactly like clone was in MTG and that was a uncommon and had a casting cost of 4.
My question on you guys is : Should it be on 4 or does it have to stay on 5 mana and why?
Probably because it's a neutral card, if it was say a mage specific card it might cost 4 (most class cards in HS have premium stat lines/ effects that fall into the class' identity. Neutrals do not.).
Look at Twisting Nether versus Wrath of God or Damnation from MtG. Do you want Nether to cost 4 as well? lol
I also came from MtG, and the similarities are strong, but there are glaring differences too. For instance, in MtG a vanilla 2/1 for 1 mana was pretty insane for the longest time (remember Savannah Lions). In HS, that's about one of the worst minions to have.

Imo 5 mana is good for Faceless Manipulator.
Nature is the Day.
Man is the Sun.
Woman is the Moon.
The Stone is the Sky.
The Art is the Way.
Probably because this is hearthstone and not MTG. Could be also the reason why Faceless Manipulator doesn't cost blue mana.
copies stat changes, neutral card, can be played as a 5/3/3 instead of just dying when there are no other minions, etc
comparing similar cards from magic/hearthstone doesn't work because they are completely different games
Vvreeeew.
5 is good to keep it in check from ludicrous and unstoppable combos (mainly because of charge).
You pay for its potential value, which really high.
You can't effectively compare raw values with other games.
