As far as I can remember almost all pros and streamers said that Lyra the Sunshard was disappointing and weak. (probably except Kibler)
However, Lyra the Sunshard turns out to be one of the best, if not THE BEST, class legendary (excluding quests) of the new Un'goro expansion. I think the only card that can rival Lyra the Sunshard is Kalimos, Primal Lord.
I can't stop wondering why almost all of us were so wrong about the card at first. Even I have to admit that random priest spells sounded really really bad to me at first, but after playing the card for many games, the card is proven to be super good. What do you all think?
People can be wrong, people thought that the warlock and hunter quests would dominate the meta, and Spiritsinger Umbra would be an auto include in ALL decks.
This card is insane. I was playing a quest priest against miracle rogue. He had two arcane giants and I only had her on the board with only a power word shield in hand. Power word shield into a death, into a death, into shadow visions into the pack I threw earlier with Elise into some other crazy shit which I had no mana to play. :D So, this card is crazy.
I think Sherazin, Corpse Flower is pretty on par for that title too. I've never seen a card so complained about (aside from the Rogue Quest) that turned out to actually be used.
that is because the community is biased towards thinking everything they release for Priest is bad. That happens because of Purify, people went crazy over the fact that Priest was one of the weakest classes and they released a suposedely bad card for him. So people are too blind to see that actually most of the new Priest cards are either good or overpowered, if he still doesnt see play it is because of too much aggro decks.
Well, I'd still as a rule rather be receiving Fireballs. That said, being a couple mana cheaper and in combination with Radiant Elemental, I've sometimes received and played a plethora of spells with Lyra.

Lost lot of faith in Trump's thoughts about the game when he said all the Priest cards were 1 star. Was happy to open Lyra as I was going to craft her anyway and have had great success with her.
Basically everyone here where saying that priest was going to be a dead class and get super salty when they reveal lyra, the same goes witth both rogue legendaries
Were they though? I mean, the card is ok, but she's by no means broken or super good. She's just barely playable. Priest has access to some of the best, and some of the worst, spells in the game, so it's natural that in some games she will carry in an OMG fashion, and in some games she will do absolutely nothing. If you play a spell-heavy priest deck, you will get value out of her, and you will probably run her, but you can be just as successful with Priest without her.
As far as being the best class legendary in Ungoro, that's by no means an indicator of anything. She might be, but the class legendaries in Ungoro are very very low quality. Tyrantus is too slow and doesnt see any play, Swamp King Dred is an incredibly strong card in a terrible class for such a card, Pyros is garbage, Sherazin, Corpse Flower is garbage, Clutchmother Zavas belongs in a very specific archetype that nobody has even tried to play, and King Mosh is way too expensive for what it does (fun fact: the only times I've seen it played are when a hunter got it from add/discover random beast effects). Kalimos is probably the strongest, and Lyra as well as Sunkeeper Tarim are playable. Playable, nothing insane, but playable. Compare this to expansions like Whispers, which introduced incredibly powerful legendary cards such as Fandral, Light Rag, or Hallazeal. Even the average class legendaries in Whispers (Malkorok, Xaril, Huhuran) are so much better than any of their counterparts in Ungoro.
Imo this is because the focus of the expansion was on the quests, which are also legendary cards, instead of the minion legendaries. Doubling the amount of class legendaries is a pretty risky move, and it could be met with a lot of backlash from the playerbase if they felt they had to craft twice as many legendaries as before to have playable decks. This is probably why the quests are so flashy and meta-defining (Warrior, Rogue quest), and the minion legendaries are just .. meh.
Miracle rogue is better than quest rogue and Sherazin is one of the most important cards in that deck. It sounds like you don't know what you're talking about so can't really take your post seriously.
Miracle rogue better than quest rogue?? I almost choked on my drink reading this, but then I realised I havent checked the tempostorm tierlist in a while. It's good to know what kind of nonsense people will start copy pasting when tempostorm feeds it to them.
You can argue about me using a resource I didn't even use to try to back me up, but I've been saying miracle rogue was better since the first few days of the expansion. Miracle rogue is just better, but they are both very good decks.
People are playing miracle rogue in tournaments and at high rank legend. You can believe what you want but the results will consistently prove you wrong.
I was going to write you off for saying Sherazin was bad, but now I have a better reason. Instead of having a discussion you're making up reasons for me to say what I am saying without even knowing me. That's just really pathetic man.

IDK, I always thought it was a pretty good card. Did people really call it weak?
Why Rogue is my favourite class:
My submission for this week's card design competition.
As someone who has been a priest player since late beta, I was convinced after reveal it was going to be a staple in many priest decks.
Priest often needs to find answers or lacks draw. Lyra can provide both with the pseudo draw.

Also don´t even get me started on the rogue quest
Golden legendary cards opened: Ragnaros the Firelord, Auctionmaster Beardo, Kalimos, Primal Lord

My friend told me not to craft it because it was merely a fun card. Oh boy am I having fun with it xD, glad I ignored him.

Lyra is deck defining for a Miracle Priest or elements of a Miracle Priest. Sherazin is just a good card in Garden Rogue.
No no other legendary makes a deck.

Same goes for Sunkeeper Tarim. Everyone thought it was just a weak jade counter. But it's more than that.
FOR THE HORDE!
Priest playerbase is overwhelmingly populated with whiners.

Rogue is the cockroach of hearthstone.
