oh that is weird, what kind of shitty programming did they do there. I am gonna guess that the seed can only exist when the minion doesn't this would be to ensure when the seed gets completed and sherazin resummoned that the seed just kills itself by autodestroying if sherazin exists. And the check for sherazin existence is poorly done so the minion going to your hand temporarily confuses the system and kills the seed as it is summoned. I mean since the seed is not a minion they can't transform it or annything like that, I guess it just removes itself from the board if sherazin exists since we already know the non-minions can;t ever be removed from the game, it just stores it off board where it can;t be affected.
I of course am not sure if my guess is correct but it seems like the easiest thing fro them to do since they seem to use very lazy object-based programming a lot. That is why most of their bugs occur, because they copy-pasted an effect type and it interacted poorly with another. and when they update these codes they don't universalize it causing inconsistency. It feels lazy of them. I am never particularly surprised that something like this is so buggy, but it always takes me a few minutes to come up with a plausible explanation.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
Sherazin's deathrattle isn't 'add a sherazin pod to the board', it is 'transform this minion into a sherazin pod'. This means that the minion leaves the board and cannot be transformed. This is why triggering the deathrattle with Umbra will make it go dormant immediately, but also explains why unearthed raptor works the way it does.
ooh intersting explanation whiskerwow, the minion fails to die ever and so getting copied by getaway triggers the minion as dead, instead of weirdly preventing death like normal. and when it is dead it can't be targeted by its own transform. That seems more likely than the explanation I gave. but still a dumb programming error that coul easily be fixed.

I am just curious, so what is "not dumb programming are you suggesting?" What fix should Blizzard do?

Getaway Kodo secret appears not to work with sherazin
Let's see if we can figure this out. So you play Sherazin then get away kodo.
Opponent kills Sherazin. The deathrattle activates leaving Sherazin active on the field as a seed.
I'm going to make a guess. Because Sherazin doesn't leave the board when it dies get away kodo can't return it to your hand.
I don't know for certain this is just my speculation.

Try for the lols if it works when you silence it before killing it
Might have something to do with the dormant status aka that it doesn't "die"
Question everything.
It doesn't leave a seed and goes back to your hand! Featured in the latest sparktv video.
