and it's a rare, so when you open it you are basically opening a legendary, it's not a lot for us who have all of those already but for a newish player, it's a great card to have.
There's a number of cards that are going to be understatted on this, and most likely you'll see just a plain old 8/8 as the best option. You can't even get non-priest class cards! It would be like putting an 8/8 in your deck with a chance of getting something better. In similar fashion, Forbidden Shaping was used on turn 8 most games typically resulted in just a pile of stats. At least it was flexible in that it could be played early. This card is flexible in a very different way, but might just be generally weaker than Forbidden Shaping.

lol my thoughts exactly a lot of people just dont understand priest or hs at all...
Being able to discover the right 8+ drop has a tone of potential. The only issue I see is that a lot of these late game cards get their effects off battlecries which could dilute the overall power of this card.
You have a good chance of getting one option better than the 8 mana you are paying, a very good chance of getting at least something worth the 8 mana, but a non-trivial chance of getting three bad options. Here's the list:
(Results were evaluated by comparing cards to a hypothetical tribeless vanilla 8mana 8/9)
Now this looks like it's terrible however since it's a discover you'ill always pick the best of 3 cards. Still not consistent enough to see play in constructed imo, unless there is some synergy with this I din't see.
EDIT: Oh crap I've been beaten to it while I was writing this.
EDIT2: Why did I include non-priest class minions. Fuck I'm retarded.
You can't discover C'thun, can you? And eh, I think getting an 8/8 for 8 is probably fine. So it's more or less a 70% chance to get something good enough.
But I think the spells primary use will... ironically, be as a best case scenario from Lyra.
I dunno, the chance to Discover C'thun might mean it sees play in C'thun decks as a high-value spell. The ability to get an extra C'thun 10% of the time in a world where every Shaman runs Hex and Polymorph is a popular tech option in Mage means you get a guaranteed Doomcaller proc, plus a giant, buffed body. There's only a handful of truly awful minions to grab from this. Plus, most of the bad options have taunt or passable stats.
So basically summon an 8-drop that most likely doesn't do anything? People are way overrating this. Your best bet is to get Ysera or Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound out of this (from a pool of 32 minions after rotation). Not worth playing in constructed.

This sees play in decks that take advantage of Medivh and Atiesh. You get two giant minions for one card, with the chance to get high-value targets like Ysera.
The fringe applications for this card are what people are excited about.

But the card by itself isn't good, so that doesn't explain the high rating. And Medivh decks aren't viable anyway.

Priest doesnt need value amd late game.... it just need board control cards.. btw cool card, cant wait to play it in wild
Charged Devilsaur without the battlecry PogChamp
It doesn't play the minion, it summons it. As a result N'Zoth would be just a 5/7 that doesn't summon anything.
Too slow to play... at least its role is meant to be a finisher or big Taunt for Priest in the late game, as Priest lacks of big finisher anyway.
This is better than Forbidden Shaping though due to Discover ability.
repeated post.
dumb site users with that scores ... this card is shit

Did the stats on this, here's how it breaks down (in standard):
Broken (3 out of 30 => 10.0%) :
Good (5 out of 30 => 16.7%) :
Average (5 out of 30 => 16.7%) :

how does this work with deathwing? if you are summoning it do you still get the battlecry?
