if the taunts from the card protect the king! count to this quest then its broken as hell....can someone clarify this? im talking bout thecard which is like unleash the hounds but with pawn taunts
It's possible to do some preety devastating combos with sulfuras and this card.
It is great from the first glance. But when you will finish quest it will be t10-t11. And I really doubt that 4hp minion will live more than 1 turn here. So with 10 mana you will play Beardo (3) Heropower (5) I know a guy (6) anotrher heropower (8). So actually it will give you one more heropower cast and then will die...
Yeah, it's not easy to pull off a big combo, even more now that Emperor thaurisan is rotating out but still possible. Maybe if garrison commander was still in standard it could be an option.

So we need Beardo, 1-2 iron hide, 1-2 Bully, 3-4 cards to make this combo. And even without all of that its quite hard to put all base CW spells, enough amount of taunts (at least 11-12) and some utility like anti-weapon. Well, of course we can remove curator and drakes, remove sleep with the fishes, remove Harrison/Ooze, remove whirlwind and new legendary dino... But I really doubt that Beardo combo deck will be stronger :)
I see People everywhere beeing ready with their quest/aggro and Midrange decks. I hope Taunt Warrior can be a thing :) . Maybe this is a stupid question but what about including a crad like Cairne Bloodhoof into a Taunt deck ?

Maybe in a version with N'zoth, but this is much better in wild.
this quest is pretty bad for many reasons.... overrated as hell im laughing with some of the comments here.... i guess we will see in a month or so. i believe this is trash tier though and the main reason is that to complete it you need to play a taunt every turn for 7 turns. and taunts have less stats and no special effects theyre just taunts. so you ll get ragnaros hero power in turn what 10-15? lol? midrange just destroys this and even jades destroy this. card is bad
My thoughts on this card are it being a finisher in Wild. You play a fatigue warrior that has some taunts in it, then you play Sulfuras and monkey. Sulfuras gives you a weapon, 8 damage removal, and the monkey gives you powerful minions, and if you get a bit lucky it'd be even enough to finish off a Jade Druid. If you could survive until that point is another question, but it seems like a nice possibility.
Why does Protect the King! not proc quest advancement? It literally says "Summon a 1/1 Pawn with taunt"? Yet, Nzoth gives counters for completing the priest quest. Am i missing something or is it simply a Blizzard text oversight??

Summon is diferent than play.

That's true, it's a pretty good spell to use in a deck like this.

It won't work, the card says "Play" and not "Summon", it will only count the card that you play from your hand.
Anyone know if Tol'vir Stoneshaper triggers Fire Plume's Heart?
If you always had it at the right time then 3 mana for an extra Rag shot is pretty strong. But you won't :)
However I do not think the suggestion was going to be based on a turn 10 play combo. More like a good stuff effect that wins more.
