This is the 4th most powerful legendary minion in the entire game, along N'Zoth, the Corruptor, Brann Bronzebeard and Fandral Staghelm. This card, like the previously mentioned one, will never be bad but will only increase in power as more and more sets come out and more and more deathrattle minions come out.
It's Baron Rivendare all over again.. Don't overhype it guys.
It's much more like bran than Baron Rivandare. Baron was weak cause you couldn't get value until you kill your minions. This card will be really good for priest.
You mean how Spiritsinger Umbra is also weak, because you need to combo it with a strong Deathrattle (which means holding it back) to get value out of it? Brann Bronzebeard is strong because of all the good battlecrys that also have immediate impact/value, but we have very few Deathrattle cards that are worth it to hold back and combo with and even fewer have any relevant impact other than summoning Tokens.
As a priest this card has the potential to be really good theres a few cases even just with the cards revealed that i can see this card being very good in
Turn 5 Umbra into Crytalline Oracle you gain one card (two with the deathrattle) you force a removal from the other player since you cannot leave Umbra up vs a priest even less so with turn 6 coming up and Cairne being a thing and you played a elemental that turn so you can play one of the new cards the following turn if ofcourse there any that fit in your deck........You talk about not getting value from this card until late game i would say for 5 mana gain 2 cards and force a enemy removal and play a elemental is pretty good value, Hell people dropped Brann on a empty board because enemies have to remove it this is no different its a card you simple cannot leave up for a turn, You remove it or you silence it or its value just skyrockets so at worse its a 3/4 taunt that buys you a turn and thats at worse.
The other option, You have Cairne out or any other decent sized deathrattle, On turn 7 you play Umbra into a Mirage caller so you gain a 1+1 Cairne with the same deathrattle and you get a 4/5 on the board aswell as Umbra, That means in one turn you can get out 3/3 3/4 4/5 1/1 thats 11/13 in stats on turn 7 and have two 4/5 from the deathrattles still in play and ontop of that the bonus deathrattle from Oracle adds to your quest if you play it, Even if the enemy has a board clear like dragon potion they still have 2 4/5 minions to deal with on the board and have nothing to contest it.
Or even in a highlander priest you play this into a 5 cost Kazakus spell summon 2 friendly minions that died this game on turn 8 with lets just go with summon a 5/5, You get a 5/5 you get a 3/4 on the board plus whatever the spell summons and if those are deathrattles Cairne and Tortallon Shellraiser for example, You gain a 4/5 and 2/6 taunt and you gain a 4/5 and one minion also gets 1+1 thats a 5/5 with a board value of 19/26, Ofcourse you probably wont always get the deathrattles from Kazakus hell you might not even get the summon 2 minions but theres a faily decent chance it pays off and even if its not deathrattles that are summoned it could be something else the enemy cant leave up so Umbra actually survives allowing you to throw out 2 more deathrattles the next turn for even more value.
You're comment makes it sound like combos are weak and maybe if the only option was to wait until turn 10 to combo this with Cairne for a 3/4 4/5 and 4/5 with deathrattle maybe then its not the best but when theres already even at this stage atleast 3 combos where a priest can make very good use of this card...........Yes its a very good card, I wouldnt say meta defining but its very good for atleast priest, Yes its a combo card yes there will be times that combo simply fails and you might need to drop this guy just to buy a turn or you might need to wait until turn 10+ to get value from it but alot of the time it is value it is alot like Brann in it buys you a turn and at the right time it is crazy value, Sure sometimes you'll drop it and play something smaller like sometimes you had to do with Brann into a tomb or dark peddler but then theres times when you can combo it alot better, You can always get value from this card how much value depends on the game, Atleast in priest you will see this will see alot of play from anyone playing the quest since its a extra deathrattle summoned for your quest that alone is value.
This + Moat Lurker + any deathrattle minion sounds hilarious. Oh, you didn't kill my Twilight Summoner? Here, let me play Spiritsinger Umbra and then Moat Lurker on my summoner. The deathrattle of the summoner triggers to make a 5/5, then the deathrattle of the moat lurker immediately makes another summoner, which immediately triggers its deathrattle to make another 5/5. So now I have An Umbra, a moat lurker holding a summoner in its belly, another summoner, and two 5/5s, all from just three cards. So janky, I love it.
You have 2 death rattle minions being summoned that are triggering twice
so if you have Shifting Shade and a Tortollan Shellraiser you basically get 2 cards from your opponent and give out +2/+2 worth of stats to one of your minions
Alternatively
turn 8
This, + Crystalline Oracle + Mirage caller is good value play since it gives you two of your opponents cards and sets you up to get 2 more (obviously makes n'zoth worse but hey you get 4 cards from their deck.
This doesn't seem as good as Brann Bronzebeard, but Feign Death and Reincarnate do nothing without a card to combo it with, this is always a 3/4 with pseudo taunt for 4, so I don't see why this would be worse than those. And Reincarnate actually did see play.
What's gonna come down on turn 6 from a rogue deck that warrants epic sax guy? Double Jade Swarmer? Seems pretty meh for a 1 in 50 games occurrence. Gadgetzan, coin, stealth would be way more exciting i m o.

Then Shadowcaster Umbra and bring out epic sax guy later, whatever. It was just an example.
a lot of you are going to be disappointed. Let me try to save some people 1400 dust.
Compare to Brann Bronzebeard: at 1 more mana this is much more difficult to combo consistently, and it's also a higher base investment for potentially no gain. You're also overpaying more for this card than for Brann in stats (it's also much easier to kill a 4 health minion on turn 4 then it is on turn 3, so whereas Brann could sometimes be played on curve by himself, this almost has to be combo'd the turn you play it). And it's not like Brann was that overpowered, either.
Even if Sylvanas were still in the game this card would not see play. Remember how everyone thought Sylvanas + Feign Death and Sylvanas + Reincarnate would be insane? How'd that work out? And those were 8 mana combos vs this being a 10 mana combo.
if it triggered the deathrattle of minions already in play as well as future minions, then yes it would be nuts, but it doesn't, so dust it.
THIS. Looks like only a few people can see that this card is not that good. Everyone is talking like if they could do their 10 mana "combo" with things like cairne in every single game. Yeah good luck on reaching turn 10 against aggro decks, and if you do get to turn 10, its probably against a jade druid that is already summoning 1 mana 10/10's.
It's not strong as Brann Bronzebeard was, so it will not be an auto-inclued in almost every deck. For sure it'll find its spot on Jade Rogue, N'zoth Priest and similar. In its own way will be a fixed spot in such deck because it can give you a really nice extra value with its synergy.
Side note: the artwork is pretty dull imho, but I don't like neither the general feel of Un'goro. Too generic, nothing really charismatic at the moment. I'm a bit sad about that, considering also Karazhan and MSoG.
Does this trigger "death effect" itself? e.g. You play this and Stalagg and they hex/polymorph Stalagg, does Feugen summon Thaddius later? It would be very useful against control Shamy / Mage / Kaz Sheep... but I doubt that. It seems "died" and "triggered deathrattle" work separately.

Spiritsinger Umbra + Auchenai Soulpriest + 2 Zombie Chow + Circle of Healing = 20 damage combo. And really good with any strong desthrattle. Seems like its good flexible card.
I love the card but man, this art lol, looks like a poorly designed bad guy from TMNT
This card is powerful, but HEY, what about the art? that's really terrible.
Where shall I start...

Turn 10 Priest deck
Have 2 deathrattles down
Play Spiritsinger Umbra for 4 mana
Play Herald Volajz for 6 mana
Herald copies spirit and 2 deathrattles
You have 2 death rattle minions being summoned that are triggering twice
so if you have Shifting Shade and a Tortollan Shellraiser you basically get 2 cards from your opponent and give out +2/+2 worth of stats to one of your minions

Wow, it even triggers boom bots. And multiplies pyros. This thing is sick.
You will summon two instead of one

Turn 4: Xaril
Turn 5: Umbra -> Stealth
Turn 6: Epic Sax Guy
HE TRAAAAAADES!
Dreadsteed deck in wild!
Wow! This + Mirage Caller + Crystalline Oracle.... Preeeetty good! :D

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
