This card and the buff card are really good, even if you hero power and play the buff card card on the 1/1 recruit, you will end up with a 3/7 and 2/6 and they both have taunts.
If this were only a token, I think it would have the Paladin border color. Neutral coloring was good indication (before it was confirmed anyway) that this is a collectible card.
It's not the first time a collectible has also been a token. Ironfur Grizzly for example (coming out of Bear Trap).
Anyway, in non-beast decks it's obviously worse than Sen'jin. So ... it's filler. But not the worst filler I've ever seen.
Probably a better card for arena than constructed play. Putting it next to the priest shellraiser dude, you'really really overpaying for the beast tag. I don't like that it costs 4 either, because that slots it into houndmasters spot...(Unless you have coin, which is unreliable). I think the paladin card is the reason you might see this guy around, not this stand alone version that is, in all honesty, a pretty lazy pack-filler card.
It is a collectible neutral card! It's also a token from the Pally spell~

Nice!
Is this a new card itself or just the paladin spell token?

Yeah just the token from Spikeridged Steed. The card discussion should probably be about that.
Nah, it's a CARD, another pack filler. Because tokens usually don't have rarity.
To me, the only reason you'd main deck the spell is if you were playing quest pally. Otherwise it's still another solid card for ivory to pull
Maybe its both?

Usually Tokens have the same rarity of the origin of the card correct? Like Nerubian is a 4 mana 4/4 rare even though it's a token from Nerubian Egg.
Idk. Decent card if it is a stand alone.
2/6 beast with taunt is pretty good in beast decks
Facebook Album for Un' Goro mentions that it is the token of the Paladin spell
I am guessing it's a card AND the token that is summoned from the new Pally spell.
Updated the post with clarified details~ Yes, it is a collectible neutral card :P

I just realized you can do a Stegadon riding a stegadon that summons a stegadon when it dies
wait, this just got kinky

I was wanting a taunt beast to summon with the curator, and here it is. Cool.
