I'm sure I will be called an idiot for this, but does this give the minion a deathrattle to summon a 2/6 or is there some kind of aura effect that summons the 2/6 when the buff minion dies?
Normally I would say this is just inconsistency, but typically inconsistency happens across expansions and certainly not on cards revealed on the same day (Spirit Echo). The text of this card implies that the spell itself will summon the 2/6 rather than the minion that gets buffed, because it doesn't say anything about giving the minion special text other than taunt. This probably wouldn't really be that significant of a difference, because although transform effects would still cancel the 2/6 minion but pure silences wouldn't (much like silences vs transforms when facing a N'Zoth deck) the big counters to this card are generally transform effects.
This is a 8 mana 3/7 taunt that summons a 2/6. Which is garbage.
Sure you can play it on turn 6 if any of your minions are still alive... which doesn't happen.
Well, if you don't have any minion alive by turn 6 then there aren't that many cards that can reverse the tide. And not having any minion alive by turn 6 it's a problem of the rest of the deck not of this card. On the other side, if you have some minion alive, a +6 in health may allow some good trade and defending some other key creatures. I am not saying that this is the card that paladin needed now, but that I consider it a good card "per se". Also, it has been a long time since I have seen a non-priest playing a silence. Not even Reno decks. The real counters for this card will be probably stay as morphs and sap (and priest).
Hello guys , i'm playing on Eu server for three years so far.I mostly like and play control type of decks. If you clear the board constantly , draw answers and stabilize is way more fun than just playing hunter and pressing hero power for fifteen turns . Anyways recently i started posting my built decks/theories because i'd like to share my ideas and to see other people's thoughts about them. Any suggestion/comment is more than welcome .
lol so many idiots saying silence, when was the last time anyone put a silence in there deck, you will lose just from how terrible your hand is full of silences
if you silence this garbage then you will just lose to tyron

You just summed up Paladin's problems in a nutshell tbh.
I mean, I love the card, I think it's great, I would love to play it, I just think it doesnt help Paladins' problems right now. Similar to how Grimestreet Protector is a great card that doesnt see play because you don't have a board to get it to proc on.
This cards reminds me a lot of Wobbling Runts, which of course never saw play.
So the only reason you would play this is for the taunt keyword. Whether that's good enough is impossible to tell without playtesting the card.
Ivory Knight is also getting a lot better this expansion so the 6 slot might be too cramped, however, I would be ecstatic with discovering this from ivory knight.
The way to make this work is to run Deathrattle minions that leave a minion behind. Harvest Golem, Infested Tauren, Twilight summoner will leave a minion behind so you might have something to buff
Sludge Belcher was considered OP at 3-5 taunt, deathrattle summon 1-2 taunt for 5 mana...
Assuming you have a dude up, this is essentially 3-7 taunt, deathrattle summon 2-6 taunt for 6 mana... So almost strictly better.
Yeah a dude is 2 mana but you can think of it as a wisp(0 mana cost worth of stats). The point is that this card is strong.
It's not good practice to make gamebreaking assumptions in evaluation.
The midgame of hearthstone is generally characterized by battling for mana efficiency and whoever breaks curve first falls behind. Which is definitely the case if you are hero powering on turn 5. Sludge belcher was good because it didn't break curve.
There are cases where the opponent is incentivised not to kill something, like eggs, nerubian egg, dragon egg, runic egg, etc. In this case your analasys would apply and the minion would also have charge, which is pretty good.
Comparing hero powering to wisp is making the assumption that you have infinite cards and the cost of a card is 0.
Also, something cannot be "almost strictly better" that's like saying this is dark white.
I agree that the card is strong, but it's also situational.
I don't think this card is bad, but Paladin is doomed. The "new" meta is going to be dominated by mid-range (jade and/or elemental) Shamans. These decks are going to be running x2 Hex and Devolve. The whole idea of Paladin buff requires that you play two cards to get one really good minion. When your board gets hit with Devolve, you don't just get a minor downgrade in minion like for every other class, but instead you lose entirely one of two cards you used to make that minion AND get the downgrade. The difference is huge, and made worse by the fact Paladin's big quest reward is equally susceptible.
To sum, the best (and likely to be most played) class has a card that disproportionately hurts Paladin more than any other class, so Paladin will continue to suck.

Maybe not. Shaman loses totem golem and tunnel trogg so its early game takes a big hit...no a MASSIVE hit. This makes Shaman a lot less potent against paladin as the real problem when playing against Shaman was that you'd lose the game before you could eventually wear them down. Your opponent only has two hexes and two devolve, so you will likely still be able to run Shaman over if played correctly.
If you dont buy this, the less potent early game will make shaman on the whole worse and less common anyway, so it shouldnt be a big issue.
If the meta slows down, Handbuffadin might be playable. The deck I created destroyed the majority of jade decks. I gotta love Shamans who had to hex an 8/8 Aldor peacekeeper and not Tirion. Or a new version of Murloc paladin, or curator with some dudes Synergy.

Because silence is useless against:
Aggro
Reno
Jade
Battlecry heavy decks
Which are every deck right now. You switch it to more mid range and control oriented decks with tons of deathrattles or adapted minion buffs? Silence comes back with a vengeance.
Its a stronger sludge belcher for 1 extra mana and having to buff a minion.
Guaranteed 2/7 taunt with a 2/6 taunt when it dies, does it carry over through polymorph or hex though? the wording suggests it might so it may be perfect!
Makes a valuable minion extra sticky and punishing while being a better pseudo sludge belcher!

Amazing Anti-Aggro Card, just love it !
Pitch of deathcap, heel of shoe!

its not a quest
Trash. Like most paladin Ungoro cards.
This card is new standard Sludge Belcher

this Is close to cairne!
cairne 2 x 4/5
Steed 2 x 2/6

if i use this spell in a Stegodon, they produce a baby?
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.

I got excited about this card because it fits the quest. On the other hand the 6 mana slot is now crowded because of Ivory Knight, Mukla, tyrant of the vale and Spikeridged Steed
FOR THE HORDE!
