How about we stop printing cards with the word random on them?
How about people accept the fact that that's NEVER going to happen and quit bitching about it?
I know it won't happen, but if Blizzard repeatedly gets criticised for printing these kinds of cards, they might become reluctant, or atleast hesitant to print them. Blizzard likes random effects because they cross the boundaries of tabletop cardgames, but they don't realise this isn't necessarily a positive mechanic.
Blizzard already seems to start overpricing cards with the words random on it (prime example: this card), which is probably a consequence of Yogg-Saron. If they keep doing so, I won't complain too much.
So out of 26 targets (not counting the new spells that we know about yet), 4 would be awesome, 9 would probably be meh to good, and 13 would probably suck.
Getting one of the 4 awesome spells probably results in a big swing your way- well, maybe not with Cabalist's Tome, but 5/4 battlecry: draw 3 mage spells is pretty reasonable for 8 mana.
Chance of getting at least one of the four nice cards in the discover is just about 47%. Chance of drawing at least one secret is 67%.
I dunno, definitely not as horrible as some may think, but not awesome. If Ungoro includes a couple more 4+ mana spells that don't get smashed by random targets then this might turn positive. And that's only if the card pool is limited to mage.
The only other class that can probably benefit is priest, and priests have a LOT of low cost spells. Rest of the classes have either too few high value targets or too many low value targets.
Spells which are not worth it because they're random (7): - Firelands Portal -
If you don't have minions and opponent have 3 or more minions this can worth the risk, summon a 5/4, kill a opponent minion and summon a random 5 cost minion can save you from a lost game.
i really hate blizzard. this is exactly what the community is against but they value our opinions like fckn sht
Correction: This is what you're against. Plenty of people enjoy and see the value in 'fun' cards that aren't necessarily top tier.
Correction: this is what you like. Plenty of people hate this random unrewarding garbage with a passion.
Your correction didn't actually correct anything I said. I didn't say everybody liked it, I said plenty, as I'm sure plenty of people hate it. Reading is hard though, fair enough.
I'm really glad they made this unplayable. This would be such a stupid card to deal with if it was actually good, similarly to how Servant of Yogg-Saron would have felt.
Cool card. Expect some fun decks to play it. We haven't seen Randuin in a while.
First card in this expansion that I hope never becomes part of the meta. Its possible this card sees play in a class with lots of aoe and one sided effects (secrets, summoning minion effects), like (control) mage, but I hope mathematically it isn't worth it.
If I was blizzard I would price this at 10, just to ensure its unplayable, or even better, not print it. We don't need another yogg in competitive, especially since you can run 2 of this.
I need an adult here: what possible practical application could this card have in standard? I'm curious about wild, but not particularly concerned if it works there for now.
Im gonna try it in Grimy Goons
This card would work best with Jade Druid but it would still suck

you also run the risk of the firelands portal hitting your own 5/4... essentially you paid 8 mana to summon a 5 cost minion.
Why are people comparing this to servant of yogg saron? Did they forget about the "discover" written on it? This card can actually be pretty damn good.
The effect doesn't even seem that bad, but at 8 mana 5/4 it is just too expensive.
This reminds me a lot of Nogenfogger, potentially constructed viable ability, stuck on a body and mana cost that makes it very not constructed viable.
Holy Moly 8 mana....thats a freaking lot for a random effekt that with bad luck offers negative value. Basically unplayable
Fuck cubelock
The art looks awesome
Un'goro's servant of Yogg'saron
Looking at it from a mage's point of view:
Spells that would be a bargain (4): Flamestrike - Greater Arcane Missiles - Blizzard - Cabalist's Tome
Spells that would be okay (9): Arcane Intellect - Frost Nova - Any Secret
Spells that would probably not be worth the casting cost (6): Volcanic Potion - Arcane Explosion - Shatter - Arcane Missiles - Mirror Image - Freezing Potion
Spells which are not worth it because they're random (7): Pyroblast - Firelands Portal - Cone of Cold - Fireball - Polymorph - Frostbolt - Forbidden Flame -

Ungoro's servant of Yogg'saron
Baby Yogg :) If I get this in a pack, i will play it. Sounds like a blast

This is an amazing card with a perfect curve! T8 Tortollan Primalist into T9 Mayor Noggenfogger.
I rate 5/7

We already have Yoggsaron, why the hell do we need this?
