So if another class like Mage, Paladin and Hunter is playing Secrets, and this is already in play, you get the secret they just played AND play it for free? That is unbelievable. I can imagine Eater of Secrets being teched into something like Freeze Mage, for example, if Ice Block, or Ice Barrier are played...
Very similar impact to counterspell in that it punishes opponent for playing expensive spells, and makes you look ridiculous if the opponent tests your secret by playing the coin. Probably weaker than counterspell as you cannot use it to protect your minions (Antonidas).
Would have been nice if it didn't get triggered by 0 mana cards, shield slam, or deadly poison :(
A card that requires you to pay attention to your opponent and predict when they will play a powerful card you want. Pop it in turn 4 against a druid and grab a 0 mana 3 card draw or 0 mana gain 2 mana crystals. Pop this up on turn 6 and catch a free firelands portal on a mirror matchup. This is a really, really good card that will work great with the 2 mana minion that can discover this in your deck.
As is often the case, many mage secrets have powerful effects, but are too expensive to play. However, there are ways to cheat them out with Kabal and Dalaran. But then you have to have all the cards or face consistency issues. But there is now Arcanologist.
I played a bit of secret tempo mage in the early days of MSoG before folks had really figured out Pirate Shaman when a lot of people were trying bad Jade Druids. It was pretty good in low ranks (even against early pirate warrior--you could race with Fireball and Ice Block), but fragile. I still think Secret mage will be about the same way. Strong when it works, fragile to bad draws, but probably not really better than other classes versions of high-roll aggro decks.
This card may see play, but this effect really isnt all that strong in a world where flamewaker doesnt exist. In fact, it seems almost like a stricly worse counterspell tempowise. Still, where flamewaker does exist, free spells are free spells.
Great secret. With the amount of secrets in Wild (total of 9 now, if i'm correct), it's getting quite tricky to guess which secret is in play. Also, Secret Mage is going to be really fun to play.
Very interesting with spell synergy. Archmage Antonidas in particular loves cards like this, but there needs to be more cards like him for this to see any play. It has a good chance of getting a 1-2 cost spell, most decks run those, which is really bad value-wise, so you need to be able to take serious advantage of the fact that the spell will costs 0.

Does this synergize with Counterspell or Spellbender?
Closest we will ever have to spellsteal if so.
Hooooooly crap!
Just seriously watch out for the coin if you went first
I wish there was a good-statted mage minion with battlecry "discover a mage secret".

Seems fun.

Wanted more secrets. Am so happy about it.
If you have a deck idea might as well go full ham on it.
Now the opponent has to think twice before playing either their Spell or Minion.

wait, if my oponnent doesnt play against it and cast nether portal... will be sick. that probably not gonna happen, but its a dream
really nice card but it depends on luck
*Opponent plays this card* *Opponent gets my 10-mana Kazakus Potion*
*I play this card* *I get Moonfire*
