Ahh there it is. The assumption that one's opinion is fact and any discussion to the contrary is not welcome.
Your assessment of its raw power was wrong. You're welcome to stand by it, but it's wrong.
6-mana for a 3/7 taunt was nothing to get excited about. Its effect suggested it was a tech card most of the time (which it was - going back to the VS reports just after Un'Goro came out, the top Paladin decks were Murloc and Control). I suspect that if Baku/Stonehill was never released, it wouldn't be the amazingly strong card it is today. Does Even Paladin even run Tarim?
edit: I will give it this though and I think we all overlooked it at first - it very often will net you THREE for one in trades because of the stats (3 + 3 < 7), which is massive.

every deck that can run him (and isn't budget) runs him., specially even paladin, it's one of the best cards in that deck
In what universe does even paladin not run tarim? Every paladin deck that can run tarim runs tarim. And the only paladin deck that can't run tarim usually runs 2 copies of a card whose main purpose is to find tarim.
The only decks right now that seem to not be running tarim are shirvallah otk and immortal prelate paladin, and they both probably should.
Not assessing correctly the strength of the card when it was released is fine, but asking "does even paladin even run tarim?" nowadays kinda shows a lack of understanding of the game, at least in my opinion.

I don't play Paladin and I didn't run into many on ladder in my climb to rank 5. I'm sorry that I don't spend my free time studying a meta I'm not a part of. I wasn't asking, "lol does Even Paladin even run this hot trash??? are you kidding me?!" I was asking sincerely, "Does Even Paladin even run this card because I'm not sure it has the same application it once did and I'm unfamiliar with the best Paladin decks right now." Tarim is not a win condition, a board clear, or a block of stats that is good in all situations, so forgive me if I need to ask if it's run.
The card is situational and happens to be good in most situations currently. I was correct then and I am correct now.
Wrong, there were many "Nerf" threads about this card for a reason. It provides protection against any sized minion and can buff your dudes in the best case. Dude paladin was a tier 1 deck BECAUSE of him. And not just for weeks.

Right and you missed where I said earlier that it was an okay card upon release that just was made much better over time when supporting cards were released. By definition it is situational, in that you need a board in order to create value trades or turn your 1/1s into 3/3s.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I mean in the sense that all cards are situational? Hmm sure.
You were clearly wrong and everyone can see that. You're just being stubborn at this point out of a misguided need to always be right. Again, sometimes it's best to admit you were wrong (if you have the self-awareness and maturity to do so) and move on.

Per definition, any built around card like Tarim is a 5 Star Meta Defining card. It just cannot be just okay. Every non Odd Paladin deck wants and should run it.
I dunno how you can argue against no Tarim, It's fucking Tarim dude...that's absolute madness..
I mean I tested a deck a lot with no Tarim and just two Stonehill, without pulling Tarim the deck would just absolutely get wrecked by big minion decks. Putting it in the deck just helps a lot more. If one card alone can easily patch up Paladin's weakness while giving you another bonus as well speaks volumes. Without it and Paladin left as now without Baku either there is a very good chance Paladin would never see the light again.
This card has been and always will be one of Paladin's most powerful effects in the game. It's an instant gratification Hobgoblin effect. Big boards are equated to paladin 1/1s. Even full aggro odd paladins run Stonehill Defender because Tarim is so powerful. Stonehill is an Absurd card in that deck because of Tarim.
Tarim is an absurd card that should be played if it is left out of a paladin deck right now. Opponents fairly spend significant board presence killing this thing after it comes down.

Necroing a thread I see
In terms of raw power, I stand by my assessment. It was massively improved by other cards however.

You're also welcome to think that 2+2=5, but that'd be wrong too.

Sometimes, when you were so clearly and obviously proven wrong, it's best to take the L and move on.
