Holy hell the salt is real in this thread. Sure, it's not the card I was looking for and I'm not stoked about it but I also felt the same way about Shaku. Saying that Shaku is "trash legendary" is such BS. Just because you don't like a card doesn't mean it's not good. And people saying that a 5/3 body for 4 is "literally worthless"... The wording just makes me cringe. Like others have been saying, it's a nice 4 drop that you can just play without having to do combos or anything. You get value from it later which will happen if you run Auctioneer.
And to people saying that miracle won't work at all without Conceal, I haven't run Conceal in any of my rogue decks since MSoG started while I use Gadgetzan Auctioneer as my draw engine in nearly all of them. Whether it's Burgle Rogue or Jade Rogue, there's plenty of situations where I've played four cards in a turn without even running Conceal. Will it be harder without Tomb Pillager? Of course. But I seriously doubt that rogue will be dead because of the rotation of Pillager and Conceal.
Thanks, checked it out! How is Shaku, the Collector relevant to the success of the deck?
It's a Tempo Rogue deck that lacks card draw. Shaku generates you resources and along with Swashburglar are the only methods for grinding against slower value decks mid to late game. It's easy to protect with all your powerful tempo cards and basically forces the opponent to use removal on it, meaning less answers to Finja, Warleader, and crew. It returns the favour by producing combo pieces to activate said tempo cards. It's also a stealth minion meaning an easy trigger for Cold Blood and Shadow Sensei.
Pretty cool. I was hoping Shaku would be playable but I hate the state Rogue is in now (no healing, no board clear, reliant on aggro and/or gimmicks to win games). Hopefully when the rotation happens, something fun will be playable involving the last 3 Rogue legendaries, which are all somewhat cool in their own rights.
Pretty cool card. It doesn't fit any existing rogue deck particularly well. You could build gimmicky Shadowcaster/Nzoth decks but I don't see it being any good. Miracle doesn't care about the value too much. Its getting even worse with Conceal rotating out. Since it doesn't have charge the Conceal could have helped with it survival until next turn so it can get buffed. However, designers did say rogue will be a plants class so we may see more cards with dormant, or maybe more cards that do pseudo draw like Undercity Huckster to make it easier to trigger dormant allies.
Overall I think they could've done something better with this card. Charge would probably make it too good but I wished it would keep the buffs when it goes dormant. Once revived it would still have coldbloods on it or whatever else it could end up getting.
This is Xaril/Shaku all over again. People who have no idea how to play Rogue and are terrible at judging card quality calling it trash before we even get a chance to play around with a unique effect and know a little over a tenth of the expansion. It's not a bonkers OP auto-include legendary like Edwin, but it doesn't need to be. It has one of the coolest, most visually pleasing effects to ever be introduced in a card game that takes full advantage of the benefits of using an electronic medium over paperback.
As for how the card fits into Rogue, it could potentially be a great addition with Pillager leaving and Rogue needing a new 4 drop (Xaril will probably replace the other Pillager) in Miracle. It's a 4 mana 5/3 that recurs instead of dying, and anyone saying "why would you ever play 4 cards in a turn" probably tried out Miracle Rogue a few times, epic-failed, then never touched the deck again. Any game where you DON'T play 4 cards in a turn post turn 6 is probably one where you lost massively. Whenever you need to feed any of Auctioneer, Edwin, or Questing, your goal is usually to play 4 or more cards. Getting an extra 5/3 body is just a bonus. The only issue is how Miracle Rogue will fit in the new meta with Conceal being rotated out and all the other new cards.
EDIT: Just read through some of the other comments and good lord. I can't believe there's still people calling Shaku trash? Just what? Do people not realize that Shaku has become a staple legendary in the Water Rogue that's dominating the Rank 5+ meta for 2 weeks now, and that many legend Miracle players have used it as a tech card for nearly a month now?
Dude. Please. Stop it. Shaku is a filler legendary. Everyone knows it and yet you keep up insulting all rogue players calling shaku decent leg. It's ok I'm not even mad.
But this time is defferent. This time we have a weak body with even weaker deathrattle. How many times during the game you can possibly play 4 cards per turn? 2 times? 3? And this means you should have this ''LEGENDARY" already be on the board to gain some profit out of it. But what if you draw it to late? It's just useless 5\3 body.
P.S. Vancleef is not OP it's all other rogue legendaries that utter trash.
Talk to all the legend Water Rogue players finding plenty of success with Shaku about how "filler" it is. I It's an excellent resource generating engine for that deck. I don't think any serious legend caliber Rogue player would consider it a bad card. As well, there are many players in this thread calling it a "trash legendary" rather than "decent leg". That's just objectively incorrect.
As for Corpse Flower value. You know how many times you need to play 4 cards in a turn to get value out of it? Once. You do it once and it's essentially a "4 mana 5/3 deathrattle summon a 5/3" which makes Piloted Shredder look weak. That 5/3 body isn't ideal but far from "useless" even if you draw it late game. If you've already exhausted all your resources pumping Auctioneers/Questings/Edwin early on in the game, then the Tomb Pillager or whatever you used to have in Corpse Flower's slot wont perform much differently. Obviously it's not as good as Shredder because you have to tailor your deck to be able to activate the effect, but the fact of the matter is there's already a deck that does this: Miracle Rogue. You shouldn't be comparing this to your high impact legendaries with wacky Sylvanas/Ragnaros like Timmy effects. You compare it to the average card in the game, and it measures up very well in comparison. There's no question this card has potential, the question is "will there be a better option than this in the 4 slot" (in which case Rogue will be in a very good spot) and "can Miracle Rogue can survive the Conceal and Azure Drake hits".
I was going to reply to you with all my serious arguments but then I spoted this line in your answer "then the Tomb Pillager or whatever you used to have in Corpse Flower's slot wont perform much differently" ... honestly, man, I see no reasone to procced with our conversation. This is so stupid but let's do the comparment:
Tomb Pilagger - singlehandandly revive miracle rogue, gives you the most valuable resource, don't die from 2-drops or frostbolt, best 4 drop ever created (for rogue),you can put two of them in deck and it's fcking COMMON!
Corpse Flower or whatever this sheit called - uhm.. it's green and steals one field slot for the rest of the game it is like having silenced doomsayer. Dies to STB. The same value as magma rager.
I don't know it's like comparing murloc tinyfin and Ragnaros.
And stop calling shaku good or even playeble. He is bad disinged card with even worse realisation. Any normal rogue player will confirm my words.
Those shadowcasting/gang up shenanigans will never see play, it's just too slow. And the flower itself can be removed by a 2-drop, doesn't quite pose a threat. To get some decent value i'd say you'd have to revive it twice.
I am pretty sure blizzard will add these kind of token generating low cost minions to push this "Plant Rogue" deck to work.
Imagine if there was
Juvenile Bloodpetal
1mana 1/1 Deathrattle: Put Juvenile Bloodpetal into your hand
Bloodpetal Blosson
3 mana 3/3 Deathrattle: Put two copies of Juvenile Bloodpetal into your hand
Some cards like these which generates lots of token cards will push Sherazin to the top. It's important to make it a cheap minion cards and not a cheap spell since gadgetzan auctioneer will be totally broken. It's still really good with Vancleef and Questing Adventurer but at least conceal is gone now. I'm pretty sure new cards will be different than this but I am just giving an example.
I definitely wouldn't count this card out. It's not good by itself right now but I see a lot of potential.
I don't see this card as that bad as people are making it, for rouges playing 4 cards in 1 turn is easy-medium difficulty. Yes, it can be killed easily but that means your opponent is going to use a spell or minion to get rid of it when i can just come back again. In Competitive, might be playable, for fun, 8/10.
Playable in miracle if miracle is still a thing without conceal and tomb pillager (and azure drake although azure drake was already being cut from some lists)

How many miracle turns can you reasonably expect to have?
And remember, without Conceal, you won't be able to split it up across two turns the way you can now. That Auctioneer is dead meat the second you hit End Turn.
I invite you to play some Rogue and keep track. Then try it without Tomb Pillager, Azure Drake and Conceal. If you could have revived this thing an average of 2.0 times or better, I'd be very surprised.
You know what i hate the most about this card, its the FACT that they especifically said that THEY WOULD NOT CREATE CARDS TO INCENTIVE THE USE OF ALREADY ESTABLISHED, STRONG ARCHETYPES, fuck this shit, this is a miracle only card, just like that stupid fake coin, though i wont mind a class common or rare have this role, the class legendary is just plain bullshit. I Kinda liked Shaku, he was somewhat fun, no regreet on crafting him, but this one i'll do like Anub'Arak and miss another legendary of my favorite class (actually, it used to be, now i just say it cuz i am used to it).

Everybody is so salty. Haven't even seen the rest of the 119 cards people! This is OP with cards like shadow caster. Get a board of these guys and resummon like 3 5/3's is crazy. People saying this is "bad "right now are stupid because I'm sure it will have synergies.

Nice selective quoting and Strawman. Read it again "If you've already exhausted all your resources pumping Auctioneers/Questings/Edwin early on in the game, then the Tomb Pillager or whatever you used to have in Corpse Flower's slot wont perform much differently". In a late game situation when Auctioneer/Questing/Edwin have all been blown, then Tomb Pillager is effectively Corpse Flower with 1 extra health as neither the coin nor the revival are relevant at that point. This might actually be the most intelligent part of your post sadly because of this gem: "And stop calling shaku good or even playeble. He is bad disinged card with even worse realisation. Any normal rogue player will confirm my words."
The opinions of "normal rogue players" at rank 15 don't matter. The legend players are much better at evaluating value. Apara is a legend player and significantly better than you. Luffy and Impact are legend players and significantly better than you. Say what you want about the Tempo Storm team, but they're all legend caliber players and they're all significantly better than you too. I'll take the opinions of guys dominating the ladder with Shaku, thanks.
Oh also for the record, Shaku is by far the most played Mean Streets of Gadgetzan class legendary (ignoring the tri-class legends obviously) in legend and rank 5+, where players that actually have a clue what they're doing reside. Seems to indicate it's a better card than you think no?
I think this fits nicely in a burgle rogue which everyone forgets to realize exists. A ridiculous opening curve would be: 1.Swashburglar - 2.Funnel Cakes - 3.Burgle or Shakku - 4.Sherazin - 5.Ethereal Peddler - 5.Revive Sherazin. You could realistically only revive sherazin once or twice a game but it depends on if you consider running auctioneer in a burgle deck. The deck would be extremely highrolly, but the tempo swings would be massive.
