That's one of those sleeper cards no one realizes are really great. I can already see it being a staple in many control and maybe even mid-range decks. It's also a really good design for once - I have seen the effect at various points in fan-creations. The 1 attack can be enough to kill tokens or finish something off, so the 2 missing attack doesn't even matter sometimes. For a 3 drop, it's heavily tempo influencing and stabilizes the board immensely.
This strikes me as power creep and seems absurdly good. People have been wanting the meta to slow down and cards like this are how you get that done. Expect to see this card everywhere. It does a great job at protecting aggro, its a clear control tool and it should slow down tempo.
I think this card was made to be anti-aggro but just might appeal to ALL types of decks. Lets not forget that decks like Zoolock are happy to play a 1/3 taunt for 1. Thankfully it 'should' be more effective in the hands of non-aggro.
This card looks pretty good from a handbuff Paladin perspective. Helps with the aggro matchups and is passable with buffs in other situations. Main concern is that it would be a bit too ineffectual in matchups such as Jade Druid. But still probably my favorite card revealed thus far.
honestly... in buff pally any buff prior to playing this makes this insane.
turn 1 smugglers
turn 2 coin this
you basically have a dirty rat that gets 2 attack on their turn
if you turn 1 smugglers
turn 2 grimestreet
and then turn 3 this
you have a 3/7 that goes to 5/7 on their turn
imo, its pretty nuts if used properly. not to mention it becomes a 4/8 if taunt warrior gives it the 3/3 buff on turn 2. Its really overall a good card for buff decks and highlander decks
I feel this is one of the cards that will allow highlander decks to remain competitive once Reno rotates out. Honestly, I'm not sure how much play outside of Highlander Tar Creeper will see but it's absolutely powerful enough to be played in Highlander right beside Second-Rate Bruiser.
Very good anti aggro card, with the taunts we've seen so far blizzard is trying to stop aggro from always dominating the meta. I honestly think this meta will be slower than most metas we've seen in a while
The people on this forum. Goodness. Tis time to impart a clue.
First off, the comparison to Second Rate Bruiser is ridiculous. They're very different cards and not in competition at all. Why? Because at the end of the day, SRB is a 5 mana card, considered for a 5 mana slot, on the 5 mana part of the curve. The only real similarity is Taunt. On top of all the differences there's Elemental synergy that is still a complete mystery at the time of this post. There's no competition. In this aggro/midrange heavy game, the more merrier here. Even if there was, the one thing that this card has over SRB is this: consistency. It's always a 3 mana card and that one stat drop in attack is more than a fair trade off, if we're going to pretend competition exists. Yes, even in this fast meta, there are still Jade's, there is still Tempo Mage, there is still "I'll be fast later, but when I am..." midrange as well. This makes SRB inconsistent and technically situational. And for anyone who wants to tell me, the 1 Att on your turn condition is a weakness, have fun in that 20 slot because you lack any sort of awareness as to how Taunt minions are suppose to work. They exist as a wall, to keep things stable even in the face of speed and agression. You don't need to use it to attack on your turn. Put it in a deck with heavy AOE and keep the wall strong.
While this is a really good Anti-Aggro tool, Second-Rate Bruiser is sooo much better... This will be only seen in arena because of that unfortunately.
Cause Blizz powercrept the heck out of MSG, some of the cards will have a hard time competing.... Here's number 1.
No, it isn't. Second Rate Bruiser is conditionally a 3 mana card, this always is. And the only statline difference is one Att. one measly Att for being vastly less situational. That's better in my book.
at first glance i was elated, this card would provide a strong 3 mana card slot for contesting the board early which is essential in warlock, then on second thought with only 1 attack there is the simple fact that people would ignore it and build a board so big it could get overwhelmed efficiently when prepared for. But then this struck me. Ancient watcher was a staple in handlock due to its amazing stats despite being only situational with sunfury, argus and ironbeak owl. This card is very akin to ancient watcher's purpose as a powerful wall that despite having little to very situational offensive and aggressive trading potential, makes up for it in its amazing stats and potential to stall out enemy turns as they find a way to effectively deal with it. This would be absolutely brilliant in control warlock decks which lack 3 drops in an imp-gang boss absent meta, and bring handlock a little closer to viability,(My favourite deck). Still, the only true way for handlock to recover is receiving a 22-23 mana molten giant and a strong heal card, but its a start and i love the design of this card, hope more will appear in the future!!!

I think this card will be very good in rogue because of cold blood, period )

If this gets buffed up through spells or other effects, it should be viable to run.

Why does Silverback Patriarch even exist?
Great card - it is a Taz'dingo for 3 mana on your opponent turn, which also got the elemental tag.

Very good defensive card, you play this in control then the disavantage don't matters too much.
A 3/5 taunt for 3 manas is great, it is sad this minion is not a neutral. :(
Replace 2 Bash in my CW list for sure, if this expansion CW dont have any new early removal.
Great card for my buff Paladin!

Definitely a keeper.

WALOCK ONLY MAIN
FOR THE WIN MOTHER FAKAS
the fact that it's almost a dead card on your turn means it might not see play.
