Only way to play this card is when your hand is empty than it will provide you momentum for late game. This card is playable but if you put only one at your deck
Looks like someone hasn't played Hearthstone at all since Karazhan ...
Discolock is perfectly happy to discard nowadays -- even more so with the new quest that's coming.

I don't like the quest and I think this card just demands too much and offers too little impact in return. This is NOTHING like doomguard in terms of board impact. This is something you want to drop early and yet it suggests you play it with little to no cards in hand.
As an anti-pirate tech card go nuts....if you're playing the quest then why not. Any existing Warlock strategies will probably see this as a dead card more often than not. I don't think we can simply rely on the almighty imp while playing a ton of discard based cards with poor value otherwise. Your deck won't be reliable enough.
I think this will see play. In the context of Lakkari Sacrifice, discarding two is better than one because you only need to resolve three discard two cards (for a total of nine cards spent) to complete the quest as opposed to at least ten cards spent if you use one or more discard one cards.
Thi is really good, i know discarding 2 cards hurts a little but with the new warlock quest, it seems blizzard is trying to push discard lock to be more of a midrangish type deck.
Right... and it's a very good card. It's one dimensional and it only fits in one deck yet it's a very very very good, meta-defining card. Actually it's probably THE meta-defining card (along with Patches) of the last expansion. Lots of cards work only in one style of deck... that's like saying a footballer who's only good at playing striker isn't a good footballer.
Nice try but since I pretty much said myself in my last comment that Jade Idol is a good card that argument proves nothing.
There's not enough benefit to justify losing 2 cards. You're gaining 1 mana worth of stats and taunt for TWO cards. Compare that to Doomguard: 1 mana worth of stats and charge for the same cost. Charge is much more valuable than taunt. On top of that, with it being a 4 drop, the chances of curving straight into your Doomguard next turn are severely hampered by the double discard. I think it's going to be lackluster at best.
But then, I've never made it past Rank 10, so what do I know? /shrug

Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
It seems to me that you dont gain enough for the 2 discard, unlike doomguard, and by playing this on 4 there is a decent chance that you discard one of those.
But it's not horrible, I think that discardlock needs 1 more playable card that does something when discarded to make this worth running (something like golem or a less shit fist of jarraxxus)
now this card right here is imo an unknown. Its power level varies greatly depending on the meta and its drawback is significant enough to deter any control warlock decks from playing it in order to survive. The design is quite good where it gives the flexibility to potentially single-handedly swing a game in a control warlock's favour, but at a high cost and risk. This will be just ridiculous in discard zoo and here is why. a 3/8 taunt will defend your minions easily and councilman can grow to huge levels, malchezar's imp can generate big value, and in general all your minions will do alot more than they would have if the taunt wasn't there to save them. Voidcaller is run because of its stat distribution and solid defence for your high priority minions, i could easily see this being a staple one-of in both regular zoo and discard zoo
I agree that you want the discard so that you can play your quest card quickly. I don't think that you play two of these and two doomguards, but maybe as a one of it's okay. If we see another silverware or fist type card discard will be very good.
The votes on this LMAO. This card is soooo bad. You trade 3 health for 2 discard wtf is wrong with this community?!
For 1!! mana more you get a doomguard. there is a 3 mana 3/5 taunt in this set without drawback lets get real this is dust.
Yup, I don't think this will see much play for the reasons you said. I also don't think the warlock quest will be worth running. Too many discard cards will mean your hand is always empty and you are always topdecking and lifetapping.
This card is really good for the deck only because of redundancy. There are plenty of games where your Doomguard is the last card in your deck and this lets you complete the Quest much more consistently than before. Doesn't really matter if the discard is worth the 3 extra health over Sen'jin when the discard now can have so many extra benefits as well.
Seems good until Malchezar's Imp/Silverware Golem rotate out of the meta.
3/8 Taunt isn't the most aggro statline/ability, but Zoolock pretty much always has run Defender of Argus and Voidwalker, since taunt helps you when you want to make favorable trades, or go all-in on face.
Once the Karazan support for Discard rotates, though, this will be terrible. Dreadlord can finish games so the discard is often a moot point, this won't have that potential.

This card looks like a very cool way to progress with completing the quest.
Bad

It is also worth mentioning Krul the Unshackled, Doomguard, Lakkari Felhound and Sense Demons could form a pretty nice demon package if highlander warlock decks exist after rotation.
Obviously the body is huge for the cost and when played in combination with Malchezaar's Imp, the loot 2 effect is crazy strong.
I guess they are trying to revive the discard zoo lock? Its not a bad card tbh

Booooooooring, where the hell is the combo cards? :D
It should be 4 attack to protect against Shadow Word: Pain, missed opportunity if you ask me.....it will see play.....if priest doesn't become top dog
When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
Back to running two SW:P
I'm guessing we're going to be seeing a LOT of Discardlock...but Priest hard-counters them so hmm.

You are not prepared!
With the new warlock legendary this card might be playable.
