Hmm, it just doesnt seem like there is great elemental synergy in mage. I would have prefered it to be 3 mana 3/3 to curve with stoneshaper and then blazecaller later
It's a curve filler, and you're likely to have a lot of spells that you burn as mage, this allows you to have fewer minions in your deck yet still have minions to play, and it's an elemental activating thunder lizard, steam surger, servant of kalimos and blazecaller.
Should be 1 mana 2/2, 5 mana 6/6, and 9 mana 10/10 so you actually get something good and game-changing out of your mana. A 2 mana 2/2 is kinda bad for early-game.
Pyros is not powerful compared to Shaman elementals and is easily hexed or stolen before you can get full value out of her. Very slow and non-impact card with high cost. The deathrattle effect is also useless, since elemental mage doesn't run N'Zoth. This along with Anomalus are shits to be discovered with your elemental discover cards. The mage quest is much preferable to this crappy card.
I think I would've preferred it if it was balanced around the same mechanism as Forgotten Torch, going back into your deck and coming out more powerful for the same price.
Otherwise, you can play a 2/2 for a new minion in the hand, but you don't want to play behind curve on turn 6, and the 10/10 is especially useless. If it was 1/1, 3/3 and 5/5 for instance, I think it would see play because the mana cost would be low enough to play around the rest of your hand. T9: Play a 5/5 and a fireball, that's not a bad turn. But that's hard to do with the 6/6, let alone the 10/10.
Is a good card, i mean, a good mid range card, maybe a aggro card. U can outvalue control deck faster. The question is if are good against another mid range like Jade decks.
I don't see the combo with N'zoth, is so slow.
so, yeah, secret mage (aggro/mid deck) is playing it now, and no n'zoth combo. tbf, in wild n'zoth combo is good.
The more i think about it, the more I wished that the 10 mana token had the following text:
Deathrattle: Return this card to your hand as a 2/2 that costs (2).
That way the cycle would truly be complete and the legendary phoenix would continue to rise indefinitely.

I was waiting for the rest of expansion to give judgement on this card. Needed to know what elemental synergie mages will have.
And now, since it seems Blizzard gave mages no reasons to play elementals, I guess mages got a shit legendary once again.
Yeah this is just bad, doesn't really have any support and incentive to play.

Unplayable without N'Zoth
Can we play it with the new Death Knight card ? Is it worth to be crafted ?
I think Pyros is my favorite card in the game now. Its a shame Nzoth is about to rotate.
