I've never lost a game that I played KT in. Though I have played multiple games where I had him in hand and was unable to play him due to board conditions...
"It dies to removal" is not a criticism. If something is a massive target for enemy removal, that means it's a good card. Nearly all the big hitters in the game are highly vulnerable to silence as well (Ragnaros a notable exception).
What you said, stops anything in the game that it's not a spell. So your point is not exactly valid since you're basicly saying that "Any silence stops Kel's effect" but Silence exists to stop effects, "Any minion removal stops Kel" but minion removal are supposed to remove minions.
The only thing so far that stops Kel'Thuzad from being OP is his mana cost. 8 mana is not that much for his effect but is enough to nulifies most of the plays you would have in your turn. This far in the game you probably don't have any 2 drop (unless you're playing some kind of low cost deck or you had a pretty bad luck in the early game).
But so far, he is doing great in Ramp Druid :) I've gone from rank 8 to 5 using him and I think I only lost to one Zoo and 2 Control Warriors (one them Brawlled 7 of my minions against 2 and his Cairne survived wtf). And from what I experienced the best way you can use him is in the long run. You don't want to drop it on turn 8-9 (unless you need) but when you have some sort of guaranteed value. You don't need to have board control, you only need to have good minions like Sunwalker, Sludge Belcher, Druid of the Claw or Harvest Golem. This kind of minion usually gets 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 and with Kel you can easily make your opponent do some really bad trades.
I don't think he is a "Win more" card like Cenarius usually is. But he is a "support" that can go from your hand into play and change the game around. If you're using decks like Handlock and Ramp Druids that have really big and annoying minions, you might wanna try Kel. Even if he gets insta removed, he is giving you some tempo (if you opponent needs to remove your Kel instead of your Molten Giant he is in a lot of trouble). But for sure he is not one "must have" card in those decks, but he is nice :)
(btw 1 mana less and Kel would be OP as f*ck. just saying)
I would have to agree that it is a win now card. The argument that the execute can stop it is ridiculous because execute can stop any card. Silence cards work as well, but they work against pretty much all cards with abilities. Personally I feel that this is a card that is made to make people spend money in the game. The cards from the solo adventures have made it that if you spend cash you become better than those who don't. Before a person who did not spend cash could still compete, but would take a lot more games, this is not the case anymore. Not a whine, just an opinion

For whatever that's worth.

no one plays that card lol,so yeah its not op :)
That's an unintended functionality and Blizzard will be patching it. https://twitter.com/bdbrode/status/502283137527726080

I'd say it's pretty op when the stars align.
