Usually I do research on the best cards before an expansion but didn't really have much time on this one. What are some of the best cards that you guys are looking forward to in this expansion? Link them!
As a rogue main, I think that Rogue got some of the best cards in this expansion. Jade shuriken and the swarm guy could give awasome juice to aggro/tempo rogue. Sergent Sally is also an incredible gain in this type of deck.

Are you kidding? Rogue only got 3 playable cards this expansion: The coin and the two Jade cards. The others are completely useless to any current archetype and will see zero play. That's a total let down imo.

"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
Most of the cards are very weak on there own and only work in their respective archetypes. It'll take time to see, which decks take the top spots, but the most attention in the beginning will most likely get Dragon Priest, Pirate Warrior and Jade Druid. But I don't think there are any save must-crafts in the set.
Hand buff decks will barely see play after meta settles.
Dragon priest will be tier 1.
Face warrior will be tier 2 and very played. We will see many threads about how frustrating it is to always face it.
Madam Goya is a tier 1 if not 0 card! - The Dr boom of this set.
Wrathion will be in every dragon deck.
All reno kabal decks will be super strong (obviously).
Agree with most of what you say here...I doubt secret Mage will be tier 2 though and Madam Goya is not a good card at all I think!^^
I'm still a bit unsure about how good the hand buff mechanism will be, I think some of those cards might see play, but I don't think there will be any top tier decks that focus purely on that.
I do believe aggro paladin will see some play, maybe even as a tier 2 deck, and there I think some of the hand buff cards will be played. Also maybe Midrange Hunter will become somewhat of a hand buff deck, probably a tier 3 deck tho.
The future of Aggro/Pirate Warrior scares me a bit....it got a lot of support from this expansion and that might've been just what it needed to become a tier 2 deck that most ladder grinders will be using due to how fast it plays, so they'll probably occupy rank 15-5 which is where I usually play with my gimmick decks =/
I really hope Jade Druid will be a strong deck, it seems like a deck I'd love to play, slow, grindy and just overwhelming if I survive long enough :P A bit dissappointed we didn't get more healing from this expansion though, I was really expecting at least 1 good neutral heal.

What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?

I have no doubt there will be better decks, they did release some pretty busted stuff, but I wouldn't count hand buff decks out. I expect you can build an Aggro deck that quickly transitions into Midrange, dropping board-swinging tempo plays and making Aoe and damage-based ineffective. Dispatch Kodo is insane. It's already basically pre-nerf Keeper of the Grove. You get one buff on it and it's a better, cheaper Fire Elemental with better weighted stats for trading. Get it buffed big, like from Don Han'Cho, and you can burst someone's face in. Get one buff on Fight Promoter, it triggers itself, and it's better than pre-nerf Ancient of Lore.
I think its main problem is consistency, you do have to have the card you ideally want buffed in hand, but I think most people will mitigate that with Tracking and early game draw like Loot Hoarder or Discover like Jeweled Scarab or the new Grimestreet Informant for situational help. I have to admit I don't really metagame, so I can't predict how well it will do against the other archetypes. You're probably right and won't do that well, Jade decks might do the same thing better and it loses hard to face decks, I just thought the design deserved a little more credit.
Dragon operative i think is the best card this expansion. good cost, good base stats, lets you see 3 cards in the opponent's deck, give you a card, and has great synergy with brann.

Check out my decks & feel free to make suggestions!
I pwned a buffadin deck with discardlock today. He buffed his hand like 4 times hitting 3-4 minions almost everytime only to get killed on turn 7 while he barely got any usable value out of all that hand buffing.
I think people who play hand buff are going to be losing a lot while they are trying to make the most out of their value trap strategy.
Can we just dub that failed strategy the 'value-trap handbuff deck'? He built his deck to be good early, but he couldn't get a word in edgewise. He even wiped my board near the end only to die to leeroy + soulfire

I unironically think the rogue 2/1/1 stealth is one of the best cards in the set
Vvreeeew.
Sergeant Sally

Drakonid Operative, Dragonfire Potion, Rat Pack, Dispatch Kodo and Abyssal Enforcer all look quite good to me
Jade idol is best card this expansion

Nice, seems like Reno is making a comeback.

Kazakus! So versatile and fun
Renounce Darkness
Wrathion is good but it actually shows the cards it draws to the opponent on the sidebar. (Been confirmed in reddit) Its apparently not a bug either.
“I’M A SHADOW, ONE THAT NO LIGHT WILL SHINE ON. AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW ME, YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE DAY.”
Both Reno and Aggro are cancer!
