At 5 mana Big game hunter was too expensive to run in a meta where most decks only run a few threats over seven *cough* Fagnaros *cough*. If JadeDruid for instance turned into the new king and you need to deal with giant threats in the later turns while still playing somthing else does BGH comeback?
No. why would people play BGH vs a 1 mana 8/8 when they don't do it vs a 0 mana 8/8? Plus, if a jade deck gets to the point where it can drop those huge jade golems repeatedly, BGH isn't going to stop anything.

People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
If a Jade deck gets to 7/7 or 8/8 then you already lost so yeah, not going to see it come back.
Jade is the anti-control and I suspect will just lead to a very rock-paper-scissors meta where Control beats Aggro, then Jade beats Control, then Aggro beats Jade etc.
I think jade decks would destroy control decks anyway so it'd be pointless to tech against them. Unless jade decks only tech a few jade cards and only have up to potentially 8 golems in their decks.
But I made a prediction before and I'll gladly make it again:
1. People play jade decks, jade decks destroy control
2. People pick aggro to counter jade decks
3. People pick control-ish decks to counter aggro (e.g. dragon priest)
I still play BGH in my RenoLock. ThumbsUp. On turn 9 or 10 I can play BGH and cast shadowflame to it and clear the board for the 3rd 4th or 5th time xD

Great art can never be created without great suffering.
By the time you can use BGH, they are already in a position to drop even more big golems.. They've met their win condition, and it's pretty much over.. That's not how you beat jade decks. They cannot be controlled.. You are going to have to out tempo them, and be able to push lethal before they get crazy jade value
If they have a 7/7+ jade golem you probably already lost except for the most control heavy decks, and if that is the case you should just execute it or use some other more efficient removal.
I don't see the problem in a 7/7 or 8/8 jadegolem if a deck is able to swarm all other golems like with the Panda Legendary. Or e.g. the 5 drop that spawns two copies with buffs included - the answer can't be BGH.
I guess soon we'll find out. In the end it is the curve decks that will dominate the meta. Same procedure like every year.
I guess im thinking more in terms of like Malyruid or freeze mage where having qn answer to a big threat like that late and surviving even one additional turn can make the difference.

There's way better options.

No. Reason BGH was played in the first place was for and Dr. Boom and Ragnaros the Firelord. At 3 mana, it was also a decent tempo card.
There are better options now out there. Also Jade Guardians keep spawning, so you gotta deal with it first.

Aggro is going to &%*^ all over Jade decks.

Rock, papers, scissors everybody.

Seems ok.
If a 4 mana 7/7 couldn't do it...

I feel that IF jade druid becomes OP, it may happen. But I think as a druid, naturalize and mulch are both better removals.
If I was good at what I do, there would be a lot more dead people in the world

Why would anyone waste 5 mana for a removal card when every better removal option costs less mana? That's just...dumb.
