People are failing to see the forest for the trees with this card, so I'm honestly not sure anything other than a nerf is enough to make them feel happy. For those still failing to see the point, look up old Kolento videos of his matchups as Control Priest vs Combo Druid; it's an example of how players who know what they're doing actually handle matchups they know they have to be the beatdown in or else they just lose.
Cleric on 1. Wild Pyro on 2. Injured Blademaster and Circle in the mulligan as much as possible. Auchenai generally just being played out on 4. Control Priest at that point was a borderline Fatigue deck since it didn't really run any big threats of its own, but it didn't have any way to really outgrind a Combo Druid who knew the matchup so it had to simply try its best to apply pressure and get ahead that way. Jade Idol might look different to people because it adds cards to your deck, but it's literally the same exact thing; they will assemble combo pieces and murder you if you try to just react to everything all game without applying your own pressure.
Control and Fatigue are not the same thing; C'Thun Warrior is a Control deck that has proactive plays for instance. Freeze Mage is a Control deck that looks to stall but isn't trying to run the game into overtime. Ressurect Priest is a Control deck that goes a little more minion heavy and just tries to abuse reviving heavy hitters. It's up to you to play proactive Control lists, but just because you don't want to doesn't mean they don't exist. They're still unfavored but it's not so lopsided you would be better off conceding and accepting the loss of a star.

This is the last nail on coffin of control decks. I advice to not disenchant extra copies of it because a nerf will come. Must come!
I still think we are going to have to wait till March for the nerfs. Blizzard usually makes us wait 6 months, but for something this broken, 3 months is more like it. Jade golems need to be capped to perhaps 5/5. Pirate Warrior also needs a nerf, might be time to finally nerf winaxe.
Nerfing Fiery War Axe only hurts control though. They'd just be replacing it with another weapon since the true strenght comes from buffs and upgrades.
Control Warrior is officially dead anyway. Make winaxe 3 mana so it's in line with eaglehorn bow. Give control Warriors a mini gorehowl for 2 or 3 mana in a future expansion.

It's not dead really. It's an exceptional deck versus aggro, without a doubt that best one in both constructed formats... far, far better than taunt warrior. It just loses out on every value matchup out there, since every other class with decent control tools have gotten a lot of cards that add value to their hand (discover, random minions, steal etc).
But since half the ladder is aggro, and since it can actually eke out some wins in value matches - it's still decent.
