So the other day I played against them, silence the first one they played then killed it. They played another the other one in the game and when it died they got the 11/11. So what did I miss? first one was silence before death so no deathrattle. Or do I need to kill the first one, and silence the second one to stop the combo like that?

Silence the 2nd. The first one's DR is irrelevant. Since you still killed the first, the second still procs.

You need to silence the second one or hex/poly the first/second one. The deathrattle only trigger for the 2nd+ that die, so you do nothing by silencing the first one.

Still trying to get legendary, after a years hovering in ranks 5-1. Ranking of classes based on power and enjoyment playing it:
1. Mage - Tempo/Mech/Freeze 2. Druid - Standard Midrange Ramp 3. Hunter - Midrange/Face 4. Paladin - Midrange/Control 5. Warrior - Standard Control 6. Rogue - Sprint Oil 7. Priest - Control 8. Warlock - Handlock/Zoo 9. Shaman - Mech/Midrange
Absolute game changers, but since almost everyone will run them, I think it will come down to both skill and luck as to how a match turns out. I drop a Stalag, my opponent kills it and then drops a Feugan? Suddenly the situation has reversed and now I need silence or hard removal or I will be staring Thaddius down. I love how it makes people pay attention more and play around as well as play into these kinds of combos.
funny thing i noticed, when u have both out and they both die simultaneously u will get 2x thadius :D ofc u can copy it with faceless or shaman shenanigens etc. but this was actualy rly funny when it happened to me :)
If youve dropped one of them your opponent will save one silence for the second one in a lot of cases and wont silence other minions like cairne because hes scared of thaddius and makes unfavorable trades instead. This alone is a win. Sometimes you dont even have to draw the second one to let it have a big impact on your opponents decisions. I like that and im tinkering around with them myself :).

Exactly this, I've seen this effect too and I love it. It forces the other player to make choices which may or may not seriously ruin them later on in the match. Feugen especially is just a wonderful card on its own to boot. Stalagg not so much, but I've seen him draw out enemy removal instantly, which is still a major bonus. I didn't think much of them until I saw how people were forced to deal with them, now they're among my favorite Naxx cards.
Jeah, im fine when my opponent killed Stalagg with BGH. That means he doesnt have it when i drop my ragnaros. Playing these big legendaries comes down to baiting out your opponents removals/silences to make them work. If he BGHs my thaddius he cant bgh my ragnaros. If he silences the second one i play he cant silence my sylvanas (in case of priest) or rivendare.
Your opponent only has that much removal and silence and stalagg and feugen are masters in baiting them out to clear the way for your more important legendary drops.
Anyone who's played against me using them, so far, has failed to raise Thadius.
Yeppers.
