Even without Shadowform, this card is really good. If you think about a more basic minion curve deck, like Dragon Priest, getting a free heal while trading minions, plus still being able to develop at full mana would be amazing. It's unclear whether it'd be worthwhile to build a singleton Dragon Priest, but still. This doesn't need anything fancy to be good. Shadowform, Sir Finley, Inspire, anything else really clever that folks are suggesting, all probably as great as folks think it might be, but the plain effect is probably very worthwhile.
I actually think it's better without shadowform, shadow form is to gimmicky, especially in a highlander deck... playing the shadowform itself is such a huge loss in tempo... But I could see this played with the spell that turns healing to damage and Auchenai soulpriest in the deck.
Reno decks are not top right now because only Reno around, powerful effect but do a severe hit building the deck, this hit hurts a lot less if Reno have companions with this kind of effect.
I think Reno decks become a least strong tier 2 decks.
Agreed, they are adding some very strong options for reno decks, particularly Kazakus... playing against a fast deck? Get a 5 or 1 mana spell. playing against control get the 10 mana spell. more board controls. etc... the card quality of reno decks will go way up... at least until the next rotation... then we'll have to see.
If this kind of cards keep coming the Wild Reno become tier 1 forever.
Very true, 2 years from now 10 out of 30 cards might be specialty highlander cards that are OPOP.
This card is actually even stronger than many people predict: one of the worst classes to play against as a priest is freeze mage. Simply because of their insane burst. Priest as the healing class does not have enough heal to survive this. Now when your hero-power is buffed, you don't need turn 10 for a justicar heal for 6-combo, but even on turn 10 you now can heal, put her down, heal and still can destroy the alexstrasza of the enemy with Shadow Word: Death.
Or play N'zoth and still heal for 2/4. The problem is that it requires a Reno/Highlander deck. In Wild it should be no problem, in standard... maybe.
Maybe, but when I play my freeze mage against Priest I usually just wait for 30+ damage finish. It's easy to get by turn 9-13 with the new build... which can be reached against most priest decks.
Wow, already up to 14 pages. Maybe even more by the time I finish writing this. This card certainly has generated a lot of buzz!
Okay! To start, I think Raza the Chained is absolutely incredible. I voted Meta-Defining. The stat-line is boss at 5/5 for 5 and 0 mana hero powers the rest of the game, it's just amazing. He also allows a previously bad mechanic to potentially make a comeback for priests. Inspire priest. Inspire cards really haven't been the best but if your hero power costs 0, now all of a sudden, pretty much any of them are good. I can easily see priets running around with Kodorider, Nexus-Champion Saraad, Confessor Paletress etc.. all of which become valid. I can also easily see Garrison Commander and Sir Finley Mrrgglton played and Justicar Trueheart is a given. Not to mention Frost Giants may make a surprise appearance.
Another thing I like about this card is we're almost certainly going to be seeing more than 1 type of priest played after MSG! Highlander Priest and Dragon Priest. Now while I personally am not the biggest fan of the highlander style deck, Raza the Chained is powerful enough to warrant play. Coupled up with Kazakus and of course, Reno Jackson (while he lasts) the deck is almost certainly going to work. It's also not like we can't throw in a dragon or two for some added synergy.
I'm very anxious to see the rest of the revealed priest cards. We're still missing a 1 common, 1 rare and 1 epic reveal. So far though, Blizzard has not disappointed with the priest cards. Probably since beta, this is the first time I'm really excited for what's in store for priests.

OMG you are right...Inspire deck...I really thing this card is amazing...Also i love nexus champion Saraad...
Okay, I really hope all you people are satisfied after all the requests you've given for Priest to get better. Because if this just induces another endless stream of over-spammed bitching on the forums I am just going to delete this account and move on with my life.
Shadowform won't be such a huge tempo loss anymore!!! Much viable
I guess that's true, if you can play on curve and take minions out you might be able to regain your tempo. I guess the main issue with that is simply drawing this guy. It's going to be the same tempo loss until you draw into him.
Does the wording work the same as Reno, as in, you 'could' have duplicates, but just as long as they are "no longer in the unused deck", then this applies (like Reno?).
Or is running 1 copy of shadowform 'good enough'? Seems most shadow priests want mind shatter-3dmg hero power, but obviously requires duplicates.
Also, sounds like you have to play this card "After" you have played one or both shadowforms? Or does the "cost (0)" apply even after something like Justicar/shadowform takes place?
I feel like some kind of Dragon-Reno Priest would be best. The issue is that Priest doesn't have any draw, so singleton decks are especially rough on them, since they're very dependent on getting the right cards at the right time, and their main source of card advantage is copying cards in the form of Shifting Shade or even the new Drakonid Operative.
However, things like Azure Drake and even Curator give them a little bit of draw power that they otherwise lack. Not to mention they provide extra early game strength with Whelp, and combo well with the new AOE and Drakonid Operative is just a good card.
Don't forget that things like Ysera and Deathwing further benefit from this guy, as you can play them and still heal.

if you are a mage, you can get Raza the Chained from Kabal Courier.
then use Raza the Chained + Coldarra Drake
If you are a priest, you can get Coldarra Drake from Kabal Courier.
then use Raza the Chained + Coldarra Drake+ Shadowform
THE INFINITE COMBO IS REAL
@Nobroam
Shadowform won't happen, it is still a crappy card. But Coldarra Drake + Auchenai Soulpriest: is exactly the same, maybe even stronger if you had Justicar Trueheart too. Still in both cases you won the game!
Another viable solution could actually be Sir Finley Mrrgglton!
Priest has the most powerful hero power in the game.
Wow.... Shadowform Priest
THANK

Can Sideshow Spelleater copy it?
