There are only a small portion of the Gagetzan cards released so far but my impression is that Blizzard desperately forces a control meta.
We have allready so much anti aggro tools and if this trend keeps on going until all cards are released there won´t be any aggro deck left on the ladder. And even if there won´t come much more anti-aggro tools we allready got in my opinion enough to counter all current aggro decks.
Spells:
-Dragonfire Potion: A great board clear that completly resets the state of the game by turn 6 and kills nearly everything midrange shaman and zoolock play until then.
-Potion of Madness: Really strong card to trade 1:2 in the early rounds of the game.
Minions:
-Mistress of Mixtures: 1 Mana 2/2 that heals you for 4. Perfect in the early game and even a decent heal if drawn later.
-Dirty Rat: Against zoo-like decks a decent anti aggro card, but we have to see how severe the drawback is.
-Wickerflame Burnbristle: Very good card against aggro. It effectifely absorbs 4 damage and heals you for 4 at the same time. And because your opponent has to trade into it, it also stalls the game in your favour. If you have buffs for it in the late game it can get out of hand easily.
-Second-Rate Bruiser: Against zoo decks or midrange shamans with Trogg + Wolfs on turn 1 and 2, this is a 3 mana 4/5 taunt which will cost your opponent a lot of ressources.
-Alley Armorsmith: 5 Mana 2/7 taunt is decent and the effect makes it even better. Against aggro decks this absorbs atleast 7 dmg and can give you 4 to 6 armor at the same time. You pay 5 mana to heal atleast for 11 and you stall the game another turn, which is pretty good.
All in all this looks great so far and i hope the keep this philosophy up until we´ve seen all the cards.
Don't get me wrong. I'm a priest player myself. But as long as mana curves exist, aggro will always have its place in the meta. That said, I like all these anti-aggro tools being made available for control decks.
All new Paladin cards including Wickerflame Burnbristle are cards that will be used in new aggro paladin. If you ask how legendary is an aggro card, he is basically a Shielded Minibot with a healing effect which aggro lacks.
God I am so sick of all these people on the forums celebrating about how aggro is getting ran into the ground, how it's a "brainless" deck, and how they can't ever win against it. First of all, putting the meta throne into the hands of a single deck archetype is NEVER a good idea. Second of all, aggro is just as much a part of the game as any other deck, and far from being overpowered. The only time aggro was even OP was back in beta with all the crazy Hunter cards, Face Hunter was nowhere near broken in the time before Standard mode and neither was any other Aggro deck. And lastly, the removal of aggro decks from play by Blizzard completely broke the counterplay triangle that kept the game in balance. It went from Face counters Board, Board counters Healing and Healing counters Face to Board counters Healing and nothing counters Board. And even though there is a solid chance that Control decks are gonna be able to contest Board control decks in this expansion, flipping the meta on its head isn't gonna do anything to stop the imbalance. Only bringing back aggro is gonna do that.
We'll have to wait and see. It's possible that it's much worse than midrange or control after the expansion, but it's still much too early to make such bold statements.
Aggro is not even that popular right now, because it is not even that strong.. And aggro will never be dead, and people should get over that a control meta will never be a thing..
I think (or at least hope) they're getting the design for an aggro Paladin right. The build, timing of buffs, timing of re-fuels, interactions between the cards seems like it could be tricky as hell on the surface. If it ends up being pretty good, that's a fine aggro deck to me. It's the Zoo, Midrange Shaman, Dragon Warrior stuff that amounts to just dumping your cards while putting all the pressure on the opponent to counter, while the strength of the deck also masks plenty of sub-optimal play.
but my impression is that Blizzard desperately forces a control meta.
And my impression is that blizz released those cards first to make people feel confortable with the expansion and direct the market to buy the product.

Aggro is completely needed, is what prevents excruciating LONG games, put the players at the edge of refining and without it, midrange will dominate. So pray for aggro to exist in a meta dominated by midrange shaman.
Thanks for your opinion, but it seems to be the byproduct of exactly what the marketing team wants the player base to think, I kudos to them for doing a good job this time around!

Shanking ankles since 2015.
Aggro needs to exist in some capacity to keep greedy decks in check.
This is what people say before every expansion basically. How easy we forget...
Aggro is not even that popular right now, because it is not even that strong.. And aggro will never be dead, and people should get over that a control meta will never be a thing..
Yeah, a toast!
THE RISE OF PRIEST IS AMONG US
Aggro is still going to exist as long as people will need gold to build up their card collection.
Less popular this meta with the number of control tools , but SMOrc never dies.

CCGing since '98.
aggro, dead... hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahhaahhahah
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.
Aggro needs to exist, and will always exist.
My magic will tear you apart!
Aggro decks will just shift to be more burn focused
Do we really want an all control meta?
Every game a 30 minute snoozefest of button pass turns?
Also anyone who thinks the Dispatch Kodo isn't for face damage is just wrong....
Here's something for you:
the last time the meta was mostly aggro was back in GvG.
And my impression is that blizz released those cards first to make people feel confortable with the expansion and direct the market to buy the product.
