This guy is awesome in Paladin, just not in Anyfin.
A T4 Weapon (blanking on the name, the 4/2 that heals for 2), T5 Finja, means that you can kill something with 6 health T6 and pull both Murloc Knights out of your deck.
He's not meta defining, but he's definitely playable.
I wonder what happens if you kill a 4-attack minion with it and it summons a Murloc Warleader. Will it survive? I think yes because the text is "Whenever..." and not "After..."

"And kills" so damage are done so he dies.
Yeah I'm not sure if the condition "and kills" implies that the death phase is already over or if it just means "set the health of an enemy minion below 1". There are also some cases when Avenge saves a 0-health minion from death. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure it would survive. Because if death phase would already be over, then the card would not trigger if it dies himself when attacking. (And I'm pretty sure it has to trigger also when it dies, otherwies it would be garbage) Maybe that was also a reason to change the card text of Murloc Warleader. Imagine you "kill" an enemy 2-health murloc and summon a Murloc Warleader which saves the opponents murloc from death.

You are right, I remember case of dead minion (or even hero) just get buffed and survive ! So it is a very powerful legendary if we play 2 specific murlocs !
EDIT: It's logical in fact, when deathrattle minion have 0 health he doesn't die, he first trigger his deathrattle effect while having 0 health. So it means that as long as the minion is on board (with 0 or more health) he can interact. Well done, you have a good knowledge of the game sterpfi, I wouldn't have seen that subtlety :P
@rushingmonkey I think they planned this because of the murlocs buff cards. "Murloc now buff your murlocs only" I'm thinking of a murloc with permanent health buff or stealth buff will appear. If you looked at the hearthstone what's next they showed us 3 more murloc art (one with a lollipop lol ) so we can expect at least 3 more murlocs :P
I think people are underestimating this card because of its shitty stat line. If you play it in Paladin, there are so many cards that can buff it. Yes, it's slow but when you kill a minion with this thing it makes up for a slow turn 5. Of course, if you draw into it late game it just sucks ass which is a huge draw back.
But, playing this on turn 5 and then Blessing of Kingsing it or even just playing a Murloc Warleader to buff it can make this card a huge threat because it's bringing two murlocs onto the board which is great value.
I feel like this card is somewhat playable and might see play in Murloc Paladin. I doubt it will see play in any other decks however.

You may have a point, there.
The entire focus of the Goons seems to be buffing the cards in your hand. Even a single Grimestreet Outfitter earlier on could make Finja better. In fact, throwing Anyfin into a deck of this kind might be pretty cool, since even if you draw your murlocs before Finja can pull them, a buff or two could turn your Bluegill into a 3/2 or 4/3 charge, and that's without any Warleaders.
This card means you can't play with battlecry murlocs, so it's not playable in murloc-heavy agro decks that use Coldlight Seer, Coldlight Oracle, Vilefin Inquisitor, or the Tidehunters.
I guess it preps for Anyfin Can Happen, which might make the Anyfin Paladins happy (and the rest of us unhappy - just hate playing against that deck).
very good in otk paladin, draws all your murlocs before your first anyfin, and puts the chargers in play right away. get any of the grimstreet buffs on this and its going to kill any left over 2 and 3 drops

I like the art but, the card itself is not very good.

Cool effect, fun card. Overall, it's bad and won't see competitive play. That doesn't mean we can't have fun with it!

Love the tribes.
Summon two Murloc Knight. Then you hero power and it summon two other Murloc Knight then your opponent concede.

It's cool but i prefered the more serious looking pencil line art they showed at blizzcon for this idea to this final design.
Seems like he would be a lot of fun in a deck like this :)
Check out some fun original deck lists!
Could be playable in a Grimy Goons deck with all the hand-buff cards!

Wow, no one mentioned this as a good way of drawing both your coldlight oracles in mill :)
Oh damn, how did i miss that? I'm still sleepy i guess :)
