Contrary to popular belief, this might be decent in a non-secret deck.
A lot of paladin cards have good battlecries but not so good stats. like aldor, keeper and ivory knight.
Getting them back might be worthwhile, but it's not an auto-include in any deck I can think of.
It's also worth mentioning that the biggest problem with buff cards is that if you're behind on board then they kind of suck. This might help in that regard.
Did you know. That it is in fact possible to play a secret in a deck WITHOUT it actually being a secret deck. ie: you can put this card in a deck that doesn't have Noble Sacrifice. Like some kind of Control Paladin deck where you return Tirion Fording or Emperor Thaurissan or The Curator to your hand.
Might see the revival of N'Zoth Paladin with this?
I doubt it will see play in Secret Pally. Too much bad synergy (especially with Get Down guy).
which minion would i want to ressurect.. o right the one with a death rattle, so i can recast it and get another minion to bring back from the dead using n'zoth. This along with the other existing ressurect minion with 1 hp when it dies. so now we have 4 secrets with some form of ressurection. So n'zoth will be extremely happy and will empower a secret pally build using death rattles and resurrections via secrets :D
This card won't revive Secret Paladin in standard (too many weak minions in there) but it may be amazing for N'Zoth and Murloc based decks.
I wouldn't be too hasty making such claims, Secret Paladin isn't all that bad even now.
All it lacks is a set of minions with good synergy. Deathrattles are and will probably remain too weak overall for standard but Divine Shield decks are pretty solid. This secret is just as good when hitting those minions too and it wouldn't surprise to see some additional Divine Shield synergy.
You have over 50 upvotes for a well thought, logical post. There's no need to panic over this card when most of the time you'll just get a new 2/1 or 1/1 recruit.
Remember the days when mage would awkwardly play no minions because they were trying to duplicate their flamewaker? Let's see how Paladins like trying to do this with half of the Duplicate mage secret.

Well considering this is 1/3 the cost it will be significantly easier.
It kind of allows you to include a third (and fourth) copy of a minion in your deck with the extra copies costing 1 additional mana.
Of course, IF you manage to convince your opponent to kill the minion which you want them to then that could be very worthwhile, even for an extra mana, but that is a big IF. You could achieve this by only playing 1 minion out but that limitation would outweigh the benefits, particularly for a class with Paladin's hero power.
If it is a Taunt minion which you want another copy of, you are in a slightly better situation as you can play other stuff behind it but may have your day ruined by direct damage spells.
Tirion Fordring exists, of course. He will quite enjoy playing alongside Getaway Kodo but that is the best chance I give for this new secret.
Shaman and mage say enjoy your playable sheep and froggies...
For real though this card could be every control paladin's deck wet dream. Love the card and the art. Situational but not rng, however, huge card advantage/tempo potential through forcing trades.
A card that really requires critical thinking both when playing it and playing around it GG blizz.

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
Finally a good paladin secret.

Just a question, since it says return rather than add a copy to your hand, will deathrattles trigger?
If a minion dies, then the deathrattle triggers. Seems like common sense.
If you compare it to Vanish, which also return things to your hand. Then using a vanish with 10 cards in hand will also trigger deathrattles.
anyfinn buff?

There’s a word for Zandalari druids who refuse to pledge loyalty to Gonk: “Delicious.”

Secret Paladin in wild is broken enough righ now and I am scared really scared how broken it's going to be with this Secret.
Take a look at my card creations here in vojza's mini expansion topic.
I believe that folks are overrating this.

Everyone thinks about Tirion.
I love to think about Sludge Belcher
Remember playing Control Shaman with Reincarnate shenanigans? No? It was fun, here's a refresher!
So, paladin finally gave up on pretending he was a hero, and now runs away from fights in Kodos.
The card looks ok. Can work in a variety of scenarios.
