We like that Tuskarr is contributing to totem focused decks, but currently the power level is centered around the possibility of summoning cards like Totem Golem or Mana Tide Totem. This isn’t the most fun type of randomness for a card that is low mana and sees this much play. We want this card to be an option for decks that take advantage of extra totems through cards like Thing From Below or Primal Fusion, but a weaker option for players looking for standalone high power level options on turn three. That said, we are adjusting the battlecry for Tuskarr Totemic to only summon basic totems.

Rating 4/5. Was a very necessary change, but don't know if the nerf is actually not too much. The only problematic totem was Totem Golem and to a lesser extend Flametongue Totem.
not really, aggro shaman plays tuskar, rockbitter and abusive sergeant. now you can actually play a control deck against shaman.
Play lance carrier instead abusive, rockbiter nerf is basically meaningless. The only tool it really lost is Tuskarr, which was never a big part of aggro shaman opness - it was much more obscure in mid-range.
Lance Carrier is definitely worse for an aggro deck than Abusive and having a 2 mana Rockbiter while not making it unplayable definitely slows down burst.
9 mana for double Rockbiter Doomhammer or turn 7 for single as opposed to 7 mana double or 6 mana single now.
Meanwhile it doesn't make sense to nerf Totem Golem when it's going to leave Standard at the beginning of next year anyway.
Honestly, I think the only 2 totems it shouldn't summon are Flametongue and Golem. If it still summoned Mana Tide and Vitality, that would be fine, and this card would still see some play, because the 1/6 chance that you get a 3/2 + 0/3 draw engine... on Value Town the other day I think that Noxious and Zalae said they could still see it being played with just the basic totems, but I don't see a way when you have a better minion that can summon multiple ones for just 1 mana more...
RIP 3-mana 6/6, good riddance. Seems more of a "totem deck focused card" than an "auto include in every shaman list ever" card with this change which is exactly where it should be IMHO.
Good nerf, but this with the Rockbiter change may have the unintended (?) consequence of making full-on aggro the most viable Shaman archetype, with Midrange taking a back seat.
Pre-WOTOG, Tuskarr was a bad card for exactly this reason... in that meta HP totems just get run over for free and a 1 mana Bloodfen Raptor on turn 3 didn't do anything. It was too big a tempo loss...
however, I still feel like Thing from Below (and no Shielded Minibot) changed that. HP turn 2 (or Golem with coin) + Tuskarr turn 3 + Thing from Below t4 is still a good curve.
Good nerf. I find it funny that people are saying this will bring back aggro shaman as if this card wasn't run in some aggro shaman decks and as if rockbiter and abusive didn't also get nerfed. This is still a 3 mana 3/4 or 4/3 which usually has an effect when it's played and has totem synergy. It is now a very strong card vs a very strong card with the chance to immediately win the game.
Basic totems are terrible, so playing a 2 drop stat value that summons one is lame. Definitely dusting this.
I think the problem with many of these polls, is people are voting love it cause they hated the card. Without regarding how the card was nerfed. No one should love making a card useless, even if you felt it was too strong before.

Of course it was run in aggro lists, too, but aggro can sub in say Horserider and run Ancestral for card draw, will still run Rockbiter for its combo with Doomhammer, etc.
It's a lot less clear to me how Midrange can do without this as a 3-drop, and then also the Rockbiter nerf makes its early removal much more awkward, and the Al'Akir closer probably too slow to play at all.

thank god!!!!!!!!
This is exactly the way I had imagined how to fix this card. Thank you, Blizzard. And by the way, I still think this card will be good.
Fuck cubelock
Would still be played but now your only high-roll is spell damage totem, good nerf.
I reeeeeeeally hope this card never sees play because of the change. I hate this piece of shit walrus..
All jokes aside fantastic and much needed nerf.
A glorious bundle of salt.
This is how this card should be designed initially.
English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.

May still be played with thing from below. May also be worse than wicked witch doctor now.
It's a bit too strong of a nerf.

Lets give it a shot, Shaman lovers!

Fair enough. But...
BUT, it ought to be a 3/3.
and now it sucks.

I like the change but hates that stat isn't changed to 3/3. 3/2 stat is no better than Razorfen Hunter.
it always gives me taunt totem aniway lul
