As seen in the picture, he can fill your hand with super-expensive minions waaay too early. Rafaam, Y'Shaarj, and Illidan are all from Malchezaar. While Y'Shaarj and Rafaam are insane cards to have in a control matchup, as you can see in the image they are NOT what I want against a midrange shaman.
Verdict: Usually crazy against control, usually terrible against aggro. What do you guys think? I've only tried him in wild, not sure how he is in standard.
P.S. Haha, rank 20. It was the first day of the season, calm down folks.
I think Malc's gonna be amusing as hell. I chucked him into a discardlock figuring, 'hey, he'll replace some of the shit I discard' haha. Not so bad when your Soulfire dumps The Boogeymonster instead of that Power Overwhelming you might want later.
Having tons of fun with him in Reno Priest in wild. Him + Elise make for interesting games that never play out the same way. I'll look at my hand and notice that I have a Ysera or a Ragnaros the Firelord.
I near exclusively play Standard, so I wouldn't know how he preforms with all Legendaries/Voidcaller synergy, but he's done some amazing work so far in a Reno Mage I've been playing today. So far I think I'm at 5-0 with it, and there's been only one game that's been at all close and I still won pretty easily. In a deck like Reno Mage, he can easily just be played as a 5-mana 5/6 for tempo and do decently well, and so far the worst Legendary I've played from him was Nat Pagle and that was to BM after I already won. The only issue I'm seeing so far is to be expected in a deck like Reno Mage; my hand gets full pretty quickly. Not so much by big stuff, even, just because there's so much card draw in Reno Mage. That said, I feel very secure against control matchups almost exclusively because of Malchezaar, in that the cards he creates are mostly late game (the highest cost cards I run are Yogg and Medivh), and because of the extended deck size on top of the card generation through the mage books, which means fatigue matches aren't something to worry too much about.
I was excited when he was announced, and I'm still excited. The "more cards in a deck weakens the deck" argument is only really that applicable to decks that do/need to do specific things at certain times, where as Reno Mage is so flexible that it can lose in the early game and come back really strong. Plus, as far as card games go, 30 cards is a pretty small deck compared to other games, so 35 card that are generally decent (and can be rerolled with Elise or just not played at all) really doesn't hurt that bad.
Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: that sometimes the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom... Upon all those...who would oppose us.
It's not good either, was played a few times against me.. it just got killed by board or I ignored it (was playing demon zoolock in wild for like 20 games now)
Well, in control, you can efficiently trade with. If your opponent uses spell to deal with it, then it's even better. One less removal.
The card can affect consistency of the deck if you are playing aggo, and obviously no one will use this in aggro. In control, it's pretty good, and FUN.

Bane of Doom gets 47% (11/23 are summonable demons with stats or cost superior to 4) of summoning a higher cost demon than what you paid for it.
The problem is, it's way too inconsistent. It may lose you the game outright if bad rng is on your side.
Just like tuskar, just that there is no an archetype where bane of doom fit that well since reno is pretty weak in standard and zoo cant handle a card like that, too expensive and no reason to take that risk with zoo.
On topic, its ok if you guys like the card and you enjoy playing it, but yeah, that card it terrible.
So this card is trash in Standard Renolock. I am enjoying it in a DragonLock I am perfecting. So far the worst Legendaries I have gotten have been the Dark Nat Pagle, Milhouse, and MAJORDOMO.. That's it. More often than not I get good Legendaries like, Rag, Soggoth, Hogger and etc. Best part is I don't get denied Reno synergy (because I'm not running it), and there are no super important cards besides my AoE and Dragons (for synergy) that I need. I've even gotten Renk off him three times and all three times I've been able to use him.
I use the new Discover a (Legendary) Dragon minion to make up for my lack of a superior late game, I usually get one of the two Detahwings, Ysera or Onyxia and Chromagus... Insane. As for the Prince, he is very useful in aiding the late game also, minions that are terrible if you put them in your deck actually shine with Lrince. Zerus for instance, got him off of Prince and he turned in to King Crush won me game. Lore walker Cho, pretty good off of Prince but I would never recommend putting Cho in your deck.
This is most definetly going to be the most controversial cards. Some will think it's good some will think it's bad. And that is totally understandable. Honestly I think Midrange decks are the best fit for him. Druid was the class I though he would fit best in but Warlock a Hero Power is just too good with the Card (if you get a dead draw because of bad legendary, just tap and find something better). He obviously has his ups and downs but he's a really fun card, the only card that makes me laugh in smile in Hearthstone like this one does is probably Yogg.
The problem with the card is that the five minions you get are random. I say that because a good deck will have a style of play to it, meaning you will want to put the cards you want into you deck. That's where the problem lies Prince Malchezaar, it will only put cards in at random, meaning you will most likely get legendary cards with are either not that great, too expensive or cards which didn't work with the deck.
Unless you are trying to play a fatigue game and maybe even when you are using Elise Starseeker to change those cards, it's not as good as it first seems.
However on the plus side, if you are new to the game, it will allow you to play some cards which are difficult to get at first.

My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
I humbly think most people are wrong with this card in wild Renolock (it's a terrible standard card, so i'll leave it there). The thing is, you don't care wether the legendary are bad or top tier, it's of no consequences. What is extremely, extremely powerful however, is having 7-10 cards in hand. In late game, opponents will have a couple cards less and thus less options. The fact that you get potentially 5 more turns of NON FATIGUE DAMAGE AND CARDS AT THE SAME TIME makes it extremely strong. Renolock is probably the most control heavy deck, shining around turn 20+. The longer the game, the stronger your chance to win are. Put a lot of heal, taunt, and aoe, try to stabilize. The only decks which present problems are aggro or aggressive explosive midrange decks, and even then, a good aoe and reno in hand is enough to win the game. Extremely underrated card, can't understand it.
The same people that say Cairne is great? Whereas Piloted Sky golem is 10x superior? A lot of people listen to the pro like sheeps. The pro that said Boom was bad and Troggzor was top at gvg release?
I think Malc is good, though I haven't fully tested his edge cases. I'm planning on running him in Midrange Hunter. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Midrange Hunter that's a horrible idea," but it really isn't that bad. Malchezaar procs AFTER the mulligan stage. If you can mulligan to make sure your first three turns are solid, you've basically eliminated the consistency issue. Because of the order in which Malchezaar takes effect, I think he will overall be an okay addition to any midrange deck that wants to improve it's matchups against control.

I was playing some wild N'Zoth Renolock to see how Prince Malchezaar would perform. Here is generally how it seems to go for me:
Pros:
Cons:
Verdict: Usually crazy against control, usually terrible against aggro. What do you guys think? I've only tried him in wild, not sure how he is in standard.

He's only seen play for a few days. It may be a few weeks before a clear picture of this card is apparent.

Malchezaar (check my wild meta tier list in wild discussion) is probably the strongest wild card since N'zoth.
There's never a best, world constantly evolve.
Sometimes bad? It was obvious that this card was bad when it was first shown.
"Oh look, my barnes had a 10% chance to pull a card that had a 1% chance of being in my deck, what a positive!"

Of course, in wild he's also put Gelbin Mekkatorque and Elite Tauren Chieftain in a my hands a couple more times than I'd like. But even then, it's still fun.

5 mana 5/6 is not weak.

Having a good time with the meta.
this legendary just costed me 3 games with my nzoth renolock
it gives you shitty legandaries and it blocks you from drawing reno or board clear when you need it
this card will never be good beacuse it fucks up your draw
5 mana 5/6 is a very good body .. btw you dont know what you get so its still rng
Prince Malchezaar is always bad, except if you're drafting him in arena.
