Could you maybe learn to accept that the game has random qualities?
everyone complains about this. Once we learn to accept it everyone will be happier.
Learn to read.
He specifically mentioned the difference between good and bad kinds of randomness. Cards like Clockwork Gnome, Swashburgler, Mulch, any Discover card, etc are cool and fun rng effects because they change the game and create diversity instead of just deciding who wins the game on the spot.
Cards like Arcane Missile and Knife Juggler are just frustrating because theres no grey are or skill in them. They come out really early on because of their low cost and can usually decide the game. Its fun to cheese someone by using a Shatter you got off of Babbling Book but no one is happy or excited to win or lose a game because a Bat flipped a coin and decided your minion should die. Thats just not fun.
Reynad did a great video on good and bad types of RNG thats really informative.
Honestly, if a 1 damage deathrattle effect annoys you so much that you need to bitch about it in the forums, it might be time to take a break from the game.
all of these cards are extremely unhealthy for the game, and unfun to play against. as early as turn 2 the entire game can be decided by a Fiery Bat 50/50. These are great examples of cards that have bad RNG, as opposed to cards like Netherspite Historian which is an excellent form of RNG, because it doesn't affect the board state.
Lol, makes a list about cards that should've never been made, and doesn't include 4 mana 7/7. Is this a joke?
the 4 mana 7/7 isn't even that OP<,most pro players agree. it has a lot of answers in a lot of classes

My soul is painted like the wings on butterflies, the fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die. I can fly, my friends.
For me there's a huge difference between RNG cards you just play on curve and hope for the best (Flame Juggler, Fiery Bat) and cards you actually have to calculate how to use the RNG to your advantage (Arcane Missiles, Flamewaker). I hate to get into the old "RNG makes the game brainless" discussion so I wont. But I do however understand the frustration that comes from when cards you haven't put much thought into either reward you or punishes you. But again it's not much more different from the RNG involved with your actual draws which is what you get when you're playing a card game. It's just more explicit and therefor more frustrating.
all RNG is fine. that's what we have to accept. its there for a reason.
But that's just not true.
If something in a game fails to make that game fun in anyway and just makes it frustrating then that's a core flaw in the game. Hearthstone is a great game but it has problems and its ok to admit those problems because the only way things like Hearthstone can grow is if it's flaws can be determined and analyzed.
That's like if all phones gave you an electric shock once every 12 minutes. You wouldn't just say "phones are great and the electrical shock is just what we have to accept. It's there for a reason." That would be ridiculous.

Yeah, just ignore all that other shit they're throwing at you and wait for turn 4. Not OP at all. Still over half of my health left. Piece of cake.
for me the biggest abusers are tuskar , yogg, mad scientist and challenger, the first two because the rng on them can just win you the game instantly , the other ones because of the ridiculous value , 2\2 deathrattle draw and play a 2\3 mana card(mage or hunter secrets) is just stupid, or 6\6 draw and play 4\5 cards .
I'm gonna be original and say Frost Nova. This card is as uninteractive as it gets, it's basically "buy yourself one more turn" for 3 mana, which is golden for any stall/burn strategy. If you search for main offenders in Freeze Mage which was always the most uninteractive deck - here it is, Frost Nova + Blizzard. I don't care Freeze Mage isn't good anymore (it is in Wild + it was for so long time so I easily remember facing it at full power) - the deck is solitaire, not Hearthstone, and card that mostly allows it is Frost Nova. And it's not just Freeze Mage. Fatigue, Grinder, Malygos... They don't work anymore and never were really good, but when they could be legitimaly played as gimmicks, they all abused stall mechanics like Frost Nova. And as long as this card is in the game, solitaire Mage decks will exist at some level. It's mot like I'm actually salty over the card, it's jsut badly designed and if we talk about cards that shouldn;t be printed, then Nova is one of them imho.
Great point, agreed. I wouldn't have thought of that one, but you're right it is a card that's not good for the game.

This game is still fun for a lot of people. If you're not having fun anymore, then why play it? Blizzard has no obligation to alter their design because some people don't like rng. It may be difficult to admit, but it really is just a game, and there's no reason to cling to it as if it's daddy's watch (for those who have seen Pulp Fiction).

Agreed, and I'm having fun. Lastnight I stayed up about 2 hours past a typical bedtime playing with Prince Malchezaar decks and having a blast.
I don't like Flamewanker, Fiery Win Axe, Tuskar Totemic, Yogg, Knife Juggler or Mad Scientist. (All except from win axe here is heavy rng cards that decide games, waraxe i just too good) :P
It's not a competitive card but not everything in the game has to be super tryhard best OP card
Hello? Yog? The RNG fiesta made card.
I will crush you!

as for learning to read, I'm still working on it but I've made some real strides thanks to Dr.Seuss :)
The best way to solve problems is to create more problems until you are dead

Damn that Reynad video reminded me of Imp-losion.
Now there's a card that just makes you go 'wft'

No the game is shitty right now ... Randomness = Yogg = less skill = so you like it = you are a noob ...
USE RAILROAD CIPHER with key of 69 and offset 138 to read my cryptic messages. Lulchina and sherman1986 go suck dick ahahaha
Dr. 2, Dr. 3, Dr. 4, Dr. 5, Dr. 6, Dr. 7, Dr. 8

I don't mind a 4 mana 7/7 in the game. I do mind a 4 mana 7/7 for 40 dust in the game though.
Sap should at the very least be Kripp's suggestion of "Silence and Freeze a minion".
Houndmaster
Totem Golem
Feral Spirit
Lightning Storm
Call of the Wild is fun but broken
Flamecannon
Probably a ton I can't think of right now
