At first I wanted to shower praise on this card. But the problem with dragon decks is when you do not having dragons in hand, which is a problem that is only compounded by this card. Now, when you have a dragon in hand, everything works fine, but everything was working fine anyway at that point.
This card will continue to drive the bus, which is good. I also like the fact that this allows you to shave some of the top end off your deck. It's a fine card, and should probably find a home in many dragon decks (I especially like the notion of discovering dragon consort). But since it isn't, itself, a dragon, I think it's probably not as good as the love it's getting.
I guess it's support to Deathwing the lesser. I'm not really seeing a whole lot of value there otherwise.
I do like museum curator, but, that's unconditional and there are some neutral legendary deathrattle minions that I really like to get in multiples in my N'Zoth deck. Things like Sylvanas and Carne.
There really aren't too many dragons, legendary or not, that I want more than 1 in my deck bad enough to use this.
I'm going to go against the grain here and say bad card. The conditional part just kills any value it may have had, and as a 1/3 it wasn't much.
There are several legendary dragon cards currently, and most of dragos are pretty useful on their own, the only exception being Faerie Dragon currently? Even Volcanic can be nice.
I'm not arguing that point.
There are some deathrattle legendaries I'd REALLY like to have multiples of, but can't due to the legendary restriction. Having 2 sylvanas in my deck just makes my N'Zoth turn so much better. Sometimes I don't get those from the Museum curator, I just get something 'nice' like a Shifting Shade or Corrupted Tauren that fill a role and give me someting to do on turn 4.
There really aren't any legendary dragons that I want 2 of that badly. They are all quite expensive. Getting an 8 or 9 cost minion on turn 2 is of limited value. It's anti-tempo and extremely late payoff. You'd probably be better off with a Twilight drake, Azure Drake, or that guardian 3/6 taunt. Those are the 'nice' options I'm seeing and as I see it those are the top tier. Quite a bit lower tier than Sylvanas or Carne in my mind.
And it's conditional. And a useless topdeck. Museum Curator is a card you are generally happy to topdeck.
All in all I think this card is poor and will not see play.
Say you need at least 8 dragons to make the "if you're holding a dragon..." synergy viable - would x2 Azure Drakes, x2 Book Wyrms, x2 Faerie Dragons and x2 Twilight Drakes be a decent starting base? Hmm.

It's not a few months it's more than 6 at a minimum most likely 7 or 8. Anyway there's no point theorizing about this kind of stuff, there will be two more large expansions released likely containing new Dragons before this discussion is even relevant.

That's true, most dragon legendaries are pricey if you are playing this card on curve, but at least there are some utility dragons, specially with the kodo-like coming up or Twilight Gaurdian, which will both work since you probably have a dragon in hand already for Historian to work.
It's definately no Museum Curator, but should be alright in dragon decks.

The thing about this card is that it let's you drop your dragons on curve without worry. I run 9 dragons in my N'zoth dragon priest deck and there are still times when I want to drop my last dragon and I can't. Twilight Whelp and twilight guardian are not fun to be holding because you need an activator for blackwing technician, or wyrmrest agent, or blackwing corruptor.
Great card! Does this open the possibility to dragon priest being viable again?
Again? My N'Zoth dragon priest deck is a consistent winner for me. I recognize that I am one of the few people playing it, but I do as well with it as any of the supposed tier 1 or 2 decks that I use.
That being said, I don't know what I'd take out to put this little cutie in.
N'Zoth Dragon Priest sounds damn interesting! When you have a moment, would you mind posting your deck list along with--if possible--a recommendation for what to subtract to add this card in? I do think that Dragon Priest will find this card to be a must-include once it hits.
The non-Dragon support cards that rotate out are going to be more painful, but it seems like the new tools we're getting will keep the archetype reasonably viable. Priest (of course) is going to have the hardest time when BRM rotates out.

Really nice! Unfortunately TGT and BRM will rotate out in less than a year, hope other viable low-mid cost Dragons will emerge soon to contribute to the archetype.
Doubt it will fit in Warrior, which is more of a tempo deck, but makes control decks like Priest and Paladin considerably better. The Curator also fits well in Dragon Paladin, with Kodo and Sir Finley being good tech options, so could see a competitive Dragon Paladin emerge.
I'd imagine it will replace museum curator in dragon priest and will see play in other control dragon decks. It's probably too slow for faster dragon decks like dragon warrior.

Here is what I run now. I'm still working over what I'd put in from Karazhan.

That's true to a point. But how much are you playing on curve if you need to spend 2 mana to play this before you play your dragon? It certainly helps you play more liberally in some situations, which is why i think this is a fine card. But it's not a panacea for the "dragon in hand" issue all dragon decks have.
1) If you are stuck with only 1 dragon in hand (think Whelp) in the early game, you can now free-up room to drop that card earlier in the game when it matters as opposed to waiting for draw.
2) You can cut one or more top-end dragons and go heavy control, relying on two of these cards (esp if you can combo one with Brann) to pull your legendary dragons. There's a high enough ratio of really powerful dragons that this feels like it should be viable.
Obviously not a Dragon Warrior card since it is anti-tempo, but that is A-OK with me. Would be nice to see a viable Dragon Control Priest or Pally.

Only a few months before a lot of dragons rotate out of standard though. That would leave these (plus whatever they add in upcoming expansions);
ONIK: Book Wyrm
WotOG: Midnight Drake, Scaled Nightmare, Deathwing, Dragonlord
Classic: Faerie Dragon, Twilight Drake, Azure Drake, Alexstrasza,Malygos,Nozdormu,Onyxia,Ysera,Deathwing
Say you need at least 8 dragons to make the "if you're holding a dragon..." synergy viable - would x2 Azure Drakes, x2 Book Wyrms, x2 Faerie Dragons and x2 Twilight Drakes be a decent starting base? Hmm.
Plainly BAD.
The end is coming!
There aren't THAT many Dragons in BRM, and most are not indispensable:

I definitely gonna use it.

My idea to help dragon decks was

Tribe: Dragon
Text: This always appears in your mulligan.
Play one of this and never worry about dragon synergies again.
