At the end of your first turn you have a 3/3 and a 3/2 Deathrattle : Draw a card.
STRONG
I'm starting to get excited for the archetype now. I wonder how far Blizzard will push this?
We now have 9 cards with the discard theme in Standard : 5 enablers (discarders) and 4 cards which can benefit from discard. That's 18 out of 30 cards in your deck so we may be approaching critical mass. 2 of the beneficiaries like to be discarded while the other two like it when discard happens while they are in play.
The Enablers :
Dark Bargain : hmmmmm....discard would REALLY have to be a thing before this became viable. Leaves Standard at the end of The Year of the Kraken anyway.
Doomguard : Has always been awesome but gets even awesomer in a discard deck.
Succubus : Pretty decent if you discard the right card.
Soulfire : So strong that it was nerfed by +1mana. That was before discard mechanics were being pushed so it should be very, very good in a discard deck.
Fist of Jaraxxus : Quite good if discarded. Flamecannon for 0 (although Fist might target the opponent him/herself, frustratingly). Leaves Standard at the end of The Year of the Kraken.
Tiny Knight of Evil : Could be pretty good with enough discard. Leaves Standard at the end of The Year of the Kraken.
What is clear is that the power level of discard-matters cards is improving. The three cards leaving at the end of this year are probably the three weakest so, if Blizzard replaces these with new pieces of a discard deck we could really start to see a strong deck emerging. Furthermore, in Wild these cards will accumulate so, if Blizzard continues to push this theme then Wild could see a really, really strong discard deck in a year or two.
Any discard deck is going to want a low curve, topping out at 5 mana with Doomguard. After all, the traditional way to abuse discard outlets is to play them when they are the last card in your hand, effectively negating the discard cost. Fortunately, Warlock is pretty good at low-curve strategies so I am certainly excited for this archetype.
I mean, I had an idea that there could be a card that if discarded, it would be summoned instead. I even though in my mind that it could be something like 3/3 so that it doesn't become too powerful.
guess blizz really wants to see discard warlock become a real thing...need more of these "if you discard the card play the card" type of effects even if its random like Fist of Jaraxxus. Since it gives you free plays.
Not sure though if we still have enough discard benefits in warlock to see a rise in the archetype unless we get more cards (like Prince Malchezaar) that allow you to not deck yourself twice as fast as your opponent.
They release too few cards during adventures to make a certain deck type effective (basically forcing something to become viable without being too broken.)
Standard format is wonderful for this as people keep throwing money to game and their excuse is to fight power creep.
So yeah, I don't see a discard warlock being that effective with this amount of new cards. It's still a big gamble to pull this card out via its conditional text.
So with Malcheezaa's imp and the diash spell we now have 3 warlock cards? I thought there'd only be 2 class cards in an adventure
Why would you think that
LoE with the same amount of wings and 45 cards brought 3 class cards, following this logic we will also see 3 class cards this expansion, warlock got total shit this time. Confirmed warlock new priest, along with rogue.
There was a zoo deck when TgT was released that used 2 soulfire 2 doomguards and 2 fists,i guess people could try to integrate the imp instead of the squire and the stupid dirty dishes in the deck for more consistency.Imagine discarding the abusive or PO, gg zoo.

Yah tunnel trogg didn't make aggro shaman or anything.
God I didn't even mention reno too, that pretty much completely destroys your entire point. I guess thats a weird example though since he's a buildaround.
I can probably name individual cards that created deck types over and over again throughout the entire history of hearthstone. A lot of times that one piece of the puzzle is all you need.
Ever heard of Grim Patron? Mysterious Challenger? Call of the Wild? Seriously, I could go on and on.
Hm, shouldn't it be a mech? I don't know if I like this card. Seems there are still missing some pieces to make Discardlock any good. But it might be a good reason to play Succubus again. Turn 1 the new demon, turn 1 Succubus, discard this card and play it, draw a new card. Seems good! Not that it really matters but I would like that more if it was a demon, just to stay in the theme.
For discard cards to work they have to be buffed first and all of them work like doomguard. You dont want a 4/3 succubus but maybe a 3/4 instead, something that will survive one card at least and make the opponent lose as much resources as you did, just like doomguard, otherwise anything can remove those cards, frim fiery axe tonalex champion, rockbiter and so on, its a joke concept and the cards from this expansion wont fiix it.
3/3 for 3 isn't even terrible if you don't end up discarding, but the dream is to have 3 mana and 3 cards: Malchezaar's Imp, Darkshire Librarian, and this guy.
this will be meh most of the time, but those insane openers once a day, where opponent opens up with the new imp into succubi + this into librarian + another golem and still having 3 cards in hand? you will forget all about flamewreathed t4 soon enough...
If a discard archetype ever becomes competitive, Silverware Golem will be a key component as it is extremely strong when discarded early in the game.
The dream scenario :
T1: Coin, Darkshire Librarian discarding Silverware Golem
At the end of your first turn you have a 3/3 and a 3/2 Deathrattle : Draw a card.
STRONG

Woohoo, I called it!

The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
#FireMikeDonais
Deathwing buff! :O

Ah, Madness (0).
if MTG taught me anything, this card is broken :D
Time will tell, though.
TEMPO MAGE

Needed to be "when you discard a card, gain +3 +3." competing with Igb and the councilman, this pile of silver is simply junk.

Was the excess of cartoonish garbage really necessary, blizz ?
"My life... for Aiùr."
Stop trying to make discard warlock happen... Such a stupid mechanic.
Most people here missing a verry crucial thing. THIS IS TERRIBLE GAME DESIGN!
Its even worse than tuskar totemic! I play succubus turn 2 or coin turn 1. If it discards this game is almost over except you play warrior....
But still this bring up HUUUUUGE RNG swings. Just imagine Soulfire Turn 1 and enemy discards this WTF?!
This is the most disgusting RNG Blizz brought to the table until now.
