You know uncreative card design can be somewhat excused (I don't like it still) in the big expansions that contain 140 cards or whatever. However adventures have such a small amount of cards, to have throwaways like this is unacceptable. Naxx, BRM. LoE was loaded with interesting creative cards. I don't think there was a single card as bland as this one in any of those.

LoE had murloc tinyfin :p
Well it can be argued that Tinyfin had its card Art going for it. Even that was at least a tiny bit more flavorful than this.
It's only power creep if the original card was good/used in the first place. A card needs to be above the power curve of the game, and this one falls right on top of it. The Grunt is below.

This might a better t2 play than sparring partner. Giving opposing 1 or 2 drop taunt might not work out in your favor.
However it usually does work in your favor even on turn 2. Or have you never been blocked from killing a Tunnel Trogg or Mana Wyrm with your weapon or minion because a Mirror Image or Feral Spirit was in the way?
Still fairly unimaginative. However I guess that spot has been filled by Enchanted raven. This card falls short, I wish it was a 2/3 taunt. We do need one of those.
So a 3/2 taunt is scraping the depths of creative bankruptcy, but a 2/3 taunt would be a welcome addition to the game?
I'm personally quite happy with a 2-drop that deals with all the annoying 1-mana 1/3 minions out there.

Seriously - huge toad is just a better card - beast and 1 ping is just better than taunt (the fact is that it is played in hunter).
Tinyfin is literally a garbage filler Murloc that's only reason for existing is to make Murloc Knight worse!!
Yeah, I said it!!!
Also Toad is played in Hunter because its an Aggressive 2 drop Beast, the ping simply better than no effect at all. This card can be much the same, something to do on turn two that at least blocks your face and can get good to even trades. The facts is in a field of mediocre options, a mediocre card like this is . . well . . . mediocre.
There is a reason why 2 drop that pings have more value than 2 drop with taunt.
In the early game you are rarely needs to protect other minions, 2 drops are traded most of the time. Therefore, you either want your 2 drop to give you tempo, by stats or by immediate tempo effect or to give you value later on. (the most powerful vanilla 2 drop is flame juggler - so ping is very important in turn 2).

Flame Juggler isn't even close to being the most powerful 2 drop LUL. If that was true more than Hunters would play Toad and Juggler(s) wouldn't have almost disappeared from the meta. The best case for random pings currently is reactively, which means you are mostly likely already losing.
The use of Taunt on turn 2 is to force the trade or spell removal, rather than getting a free trade against your 2 attack or simply going face and playing on curve.
lol what. That works with any 3/2 in the entire game, if the opponent plays a 1/3 on turn 1, they WILL trade into your 3/2 no matter what, with the minion if they make it grow, or with a spell. Taunt doesn't force anything on turn 2, learn to play hearthstone please, if they can't kill it with their turn 1 minion they will simply pass instead of doing 1 face damage, wow much taunt, such power. Faerie dragon is a card that forces a trade because you can't spell-remove it, and it still sucks, so 3/2 taunt simply cannot see play in this game, it's terrible.
LUL what? Why would someone trade a high value minion when you will do the trade for them and they gain face damage? And if they just pass then you get a free trade or deciding the trades following turn is bad since when? Since when was a 1-1 trade against cards that can single handily win games ever bad?
So no, it doesn't work with "any 3/2" unless it against someone as bad as you clearly are. You even spent time editing that mess of a reply.

Juggler are played mainly in midrange decks. Currently it is needed only in midrange shaman, and in some midrange (hybrid) hunter builds. Being a deathrattle ping, toad has lot less value, and it fits only decks with beast synergy. Random ping in turn 1 is a 50% kill on many 1 drops, you aren't losing if it misses (even not so much behind).
Do you have an example to non-class vanilla 2-drop that is played? I didn't find even 1.

Which is pretty much always.
pushing bolster warrior??

Pretty bad. Perhaps bolster warrior may be a thing but I highly doubt it.
Come on...
Haha a 3/2? Not a 2/3? This card doesn't stand a chance...
I was hyped with the first 7 cards, but now the hype is gone.
Love the tribes.
An important point is that Naxx and BRM had 30-ish cards, when this one has 45. So I think it will eventually come to the same.
Hello.
"Ridiculous shit, I say!"
"Who am I? None of your business..."
And nope, I'm not a secret pally... Never was and never will be.
i love this expansion new flavor, quite unique and interesting.
