Its not like this that its totally dead card against aggro The thing is to put this card in heavy anti-aggro deck to get some cool value when it comes to control match-up. Even though we must try this card a bit and see how it works out. :)
Yes, Elise works because it is a card draw (the map) and a 6/6 taunt (monkey). The monkey's effect is stronger because it can give you any legendary available in the game and also multiple copies of it. While is "weaker" since it needs a bigger set-up, Elise has the "win-condition" status while Malchezaar is just 5 more cards which could be awesome cards or bad cards.
Which raises one important question: Is it possible to actually see which cards are been shuffled? If yes than this card jumps from a 5/10 to like a 7/10 in the awesome scale since you can adapt your game plan to whatever card you draw
It's good, but it's not as insane as it first appears. Very similar to Elise, with a faster but less powerful effect, and no guarantee that the effect will go off. Do you really need this card if you have Elise? They both fulfil the same role so but Malchezaar is less reliable. So I think that this guy may have to wait until LoE rotates out to see much play.

This changes the card completely. So you pretty much just start with a 35 card deck. 5 random legendaries actually isn't necessairily very good. You could easily end up with nothing super useful. However, you can consider this as kind of similar to the Golden Monkey in that you can forgo late game in favor of early board control spells and healing. The card plays into a fatigue playstyle very well. It won't see play in normal deck types but fatigue might just run this as an auto include.

It IS a dead card against aggro. In fact its 5 dead cards against aggro because it puts them into your deck at the start of the GAME meaning that from turn 1 you're less likely to draw important cards instead of useless garbage likeDeathwing, Dragonlord.
Honestly I think its just bad. It would probably even be better if it was a battlecry instead of at the start of the game since at the start of the game you risk drawing lots of bad legendaries early on. Drawing turn 2 Deathwing, Dragonlord and never being able to play it is disasterous. Elise Starseeker is much more preferable because you can choose to keep your deck in its normal deck without polluting it until you actually NEED late game.
That being said, this is a very good legendary to get off of Elise Starseeker. Other than that its totally unplayable. Even in fatigue decks.
Can anyone please try to convince me this card is good? Its a cool card and obviously its great if you're playing against exclusively control decks but if you have this in your deck against an aggro or tempo deck it can lose you the game without you even having to draw it.
As you observe, it's great in a slow meta-game, and otherwise, not - but that can be said for virtually any card in the game which costs more than 3-mana and doesn't effect the board when played. I mostly play Wild - the format is glacial compared to what is currently seen in Standard. If Standard slows down, Malchezaar will presumably see a great deal of play - I expect he'll be a fixture in Wild for the foreseeable future.
wait what? at the start of the game? 1 hour ago it was written at the start of your turn or am i wrong?
It's tricky to translate as the card was shown in korean on stream, and ben brode said "turn" verbally when trying to explain it. We believe this is more accurate now, until the english official version is shown. This is the product of scrambling to get the cards made up and on the website as soon as they are revealed =D
Ooooh...at the start of the game! That makes it completely different, and much more interesting! Still fulfills a very similar role to Elise, a smaller and more reliable version of her effect. He still competes with her quite a lot so we'll have to see but he seems very viable.

Decks with less cards are better then those with more. I think this is being over rated. Even in Reno decks this is over rated. Less of a chance to draw Reno.
Synergy with Malchezaar's Imp and discard lol. Add 5 cards so you can cycle through your deck and discard them.
TEMPO MAGE
Does his effect happen every new game if you play a deck that contains him?
And do I only have to have him in my deck ant not in my starting hand to get his effect?
I'm a bit confused

Wow this is good!

Great for Barnes

it is only good in control vs control match up, but we are in a fucking disgusting aggro meta so this garbage will not see any play.

I've made a card with very similiar effect 3 months ago, they are literally the same
It is nice to see this mechanic I imagined 3 months ago got it's way into Hearthstone!!!! feelsgoodman

Terrible card. Getting beat down in any meta that isn't the slowest we've seen yet.
Jaraxxus: "I WILL FEAST ON YOUR SOUL, THIS WINTERVEIL!!"
Medivh: "Happy feasting, Champion!"
Power to the Reno!
One reason not to add this card in EVERY deck? Now we oficially have 35 card deck standart.
then this card actually sucks .......
In hearthstone mana curvve is important .............. It simply disturbs it
Why would I want a chance to have off curve legendaries in my early game
Further not all legendaries are good!!!!
What makes elise better is that you can control when you want legendaries in your hand unlike this card
