Can someone please explain to me how I just lost to a mage using Reno when they also had 2 molten giants in their deck, which they played on the same turn I might add! Shouldn't that nullify his battle cry? No unstable portal or duplicate either.
So once you play a card, it's no longer "in your deck"? I guess I misinterpreted that meaning.
"in your deck" refers to the cards quite literally in your deck at the moment. You can make a deck with multiple duplicates, but if you've drawn all the copies, you can use Reno.
It's about duplicates of cards IN the deck. If he has duplicates on hand, on board or discarded them all, then Reno Jackson works. You don't need a 30 single card deck, as long as you probably have only 1 of each in your deck when you play him.
I think the easiest way to explain this is as follows. Let's assume that his Molten Giants are the only card he has 2 of. Reno's battlecry is enabled when there is only one copy of each card remaining in the deck. Once you draw a card it is no longer in the deck because it's in your hand. Therefore as long as you have drawn one or both of your molten Giants, Reno will heal you. Reno will only not work if both copies of Molten have yet to be drawn.
