I consider making a C'thun Warrior Deck (the standard one by SjoW: C'thun Control ), because I'm bored of playing midrange hunter and I see too many shamans around rank 12-10.
Is it still "worth it" or did the meta shift too hard towards midrange hunter etc already? My goal is climbing from rank 10-11 to rank 5 with it in the next few months (at least until the next adventure is released) and I don't mind slow games in exchange for proper winning streaks.
The reason I ask is that I need to spend 2100 dust for it (5 epic and 1 rare - all warrior class card). I got ~1800 dust right now, but I could disenchant a few cards or wait a few days to get the last 300 dust. My biggest fear is that C'thun Warrior suddenly falls out of favour and I suddenly sit on a bunch of "dead" warrior epics.
The alternative would be either saving the dust for a while (who knows what the upcoming adventure will bring us) or crafting one of the following legendaries (in this order):
Ragnaros (generally awesome)
Ysera (I consider making a Dragon Priest Deck; I only got Deathwing, Dragonlord and the BRM dragons though plus a few rare ones)
Chillmaw (after Ysera if I really make a Dragon Priest Deck)
Ragnaros, Lightlord (I got N'Zoth, Tirion, Sylvanas etc.)
Cairne Bloodhoof (for any N'Zoth Deck)
Grommash (Dragon / Tempo Warrior, But I need Ragnaros first)
you should save at least 2000 gold for the upcoming adventure/expansion (unless you buy it with real money ofc). You never know which class will rise and who will fall 1-2 month from here but I don't think Warrior can ever be trash tier so it is always a safe class to invest into.
Your guess is reasonable; I expect some official information about the upcoming adventure at the end of July or mid of August (at the Gamescom, where they revealed the first TGT cards last year). I guess that the release of the first wing will be 3-4 weeks later.
edit: I will start saving gold "soon", but I also hope for a good amazon coins deal on july 12th (Amazon Prime day event).
It's really solid right now. If you face a lot of hunter just make the switch to shaman or zoo. But it can beat out almost anything and in control you can get 3 C'thuns which is hard to beat. Beware of mirror games are almost 30 mins long for a loss that's a lot of time and also you must learn how to play this MU as you have to save some cards for a specific time.
I don't know if an expansion will kick it out of flavor hard to imagine because of how refined the deck has become.
